Looks sick! I’m jealous of these 4th gen owners running 285/70r17 with no lift. 2nd gen owner here with a 2.5” lift and I still get rubbing on a 275/70r17.
This is the same exact wheel and tire combo that we’re all putting on the third gens with a simple leveling kit. That is going to provide better than factory suspension anyway. B-5100’s
Doing serious research on wheels atm and I think you just help me make a decision on size specs . Although , with this spec 285/70/17 would you say safe for over landing ?
Nice video, however what nobody is mentioning is that you can’t fit a larger tire between the frame rails in the stock spare tire location. I have seen photos of the trail hunter with the larger spare tire hanging much lower than the bumper, to the point that the spare is the first thing to hang up on in the rear. Either Toyota or the aftermarket will need to come up with a solution for carrying a spare tire
Great comment. Slightly oversized tires fit ok but you are right that if you go too big then there are some concerns with the spare fitment. This is the reason we make rear bumpers with tire carriers to help with this exact problem. Not everyone wants a tire carrier but sometimes that is the only solution to running super large tires.
You mentioned you get full articulation with this tire set up, does that mean you get full suspension travel up and down without hitting anything? or just articulation as in turning.

When I first saw the OEM Off Road wheels, I thought they were just a pre-production filler that they would be replacing with the real wheels eventually. Now I realize they're the actual wheels they're selling on the truck, I cannot believe someone in the design department thought they look good.
those rims remind me of poor people that couldn't afford mags so they paint the rims you missed the boat on this one may be you should hire a gay to give you style pointers

Yeah we get it! It's a nice improvement from the 3rd gens.

I just picked up a 24 TRD sport.i love the Falken Wildpeak but don’t have the money to be doing that. Hopefully one day!!
Keep putting in the work and you will make it happen!

Just depends on what you're using it for. Yes it'll get you by on most trails but probably not the best set up for major crawling
@ what specs would recommend ? On stock suspension

285/75R17 fit to
Nate giving Justin a run for his money back there!
Hahah
Did you have to cut anything?
No cutting or trimming of any kind on this setup.
Tell me about the 1.25” front level he mentioned in the video, didn’t catch the name.

Full turning articulation. Limiting uptravel may be a good idea depending on how you use and drive your truck.
Does a 285/70r17 fit in a stock wheel? I want the bigger size tire but don't wan't new wheels yet.
Yes that tire will fit on the stock wheel.
So I want to know this tire will fit in my truck with no problem
Yes it will fit!
I have an sr5 with wheels and tires from the off road 😅
i have the 24 trd sport do u think this setup would work without modifications
Yes this setup should be identical for you.
Anyone know if the SR5 has a different dimension that won’t make this work?
Should be the same
I want it from the dealership like that. Don’t want 4 tires laying around my garage.
That should be the standard!
Even if you get it done at the dealership you’d want those wheels back to sell or keep
@@joevasconcelos3409 Yeah get some money for them or maybe even a trade in allowance from the dealership.
the oem wheels looked a lot better those wheels you put on it look cheap
Yeah so many choices when it comes to wheels. We thought the exact opposite with the OEM wheels...

@@YTsurferr Yeah our thoughts were the same...

Why would you shrink the wheel size looks Horrible
Both the factory and aftermarket wheels are 17" in size. The black may look smaller because it blends in with the tire more.
