I for one am very thankful for you both. Your videos bring so much joy and happiness to my days. If you made one a day I would be right there with you. By the way the goat palace is fantastic. Great job guys. 💕🙏🏻💕
Don’t forget a hay rack inside on the wall. If they are stuck inside all day because of bad weather you can fill it with hay and they can munch to their hearts desire. 🙂
As a veteran of many farmstead builds, both planned and on-the-fly, please heed this little nugget of advice: Everything can be fixed, repurposed, retrofitted, or upcycled later. Worst case scenario is that you learn what doesn’t work for you at a particular moment. That is a lesson well worth the effort. Nothing will be perfect the first time. It’s like that first pancake. The ones after it will be fine. Luckily you don’t need perfect, just good enough. Never let “perfect” stop you from attaining “good enough”. Be wary of having roofs shed water upgrade. You don’t want runoff getting inside the building, right? If you add siding, be sure you attach it with the idea of animals pushing against it. In other words, don’t make it easy for an animal to push or kick it out to bust through. Happy Thanksgiving!
Good points, especially the one about direction of slooping the roof for keeping the rain from flowing in the shelter on the way back downhill. I kind of wondered about the way he was talking about it since the floor appears to be dug out. That appears it make just Act like a catch basin for the water. I would think you might want a slight slope to the floor to have moisture flow out of the shelter.
Herc sleeping with a giant stick, love it! The shelter is awesome. Remember, Chad can build his shelters faster because he is using prepared panels. His shelter model is also not as tall. Quit comparing. You got this!
Great job guys! The goats aren't going to judge it. The biggest goal is to provide your babies with shelter from the wind and rain! Prayers for health and safety!🙏❤🙏
Every day is a lesson. Some of us earn our PhD in the school of hard knocks. Whatever you build you will learn from and make improvements on the next one. You are doing just fine Kyle and Shannon. Have a Happy Thanksgiving. Best Wishes.
Time isnt wasted ..you are getting it done in your own time. Dont rush it will be fine. My only concern is the slope of the roof will let water run through the shelter.. you may need add guttering and direct it away from the floor area.
Hey Kyle, I have a suggestion for that shed you want to build up by the camper.... Watch Chad's video for his lean-to and then add pallet floors. It only has to be a shelter for tools. Not livestock. No measurements required (unless you need to fill in the cracks of the pallet floors, but I suggest getting an outdoor carpet to cover the pallets in case you drop a screwdriver or something). You can have it built in a day.
"You can have it built in a day" Some how I doubt that look how long it's taking for the goat shelter. with their professionalism & chatter on this that & the other, no.

You two are doing a magnificent job on the building. What we learned with our new property was to walk the property after a good rain to see where the water flows. We found out quickly that you can figure out how you want to fix any problems with drainage. Remember that the land will drain a certain way and it's best to check it out. Don't worry about what others think do whatever makes you happy! Love watching the change to your property. Hubby and I have been married 21 years and I learned that he often tried over the years to perfect everything he does. I chalk it up to his job that he worked before retirement. He always asks for my input, and gets frustrated when I say "it's whatever you think!" Glad to see that you both are giving each other your ideas on how you are each doing your part of this build. Keep the great content coming! Much Love from our family to your family 💞
love the framing so far kids!! Just one bit of advice, since you built on a slope, BEFORE you put on the siding BACKFILL the dirt that you removed at the start. If you don't, come the next hard rain your goat shed will be an enclosed pond. When you backfill use your tamper and pack the heck out of that dirt. Then to finish, build a BERM around the outside to keep runoff from flooding the inside.
You go team. I love the fact that the pair of you actually work on it. You are not trying to find the 'easy' way but the best way for you and your goats. You build with room for expansion and the future. So glad you care.
Great that you built it large. If and when you get additional goats, you won't have to worry about not having a large enough shelter for them. Great job, ya'll.

I know you guys want your two boys out to your farm as soon as possible, and after today’s little trick of getting out (again), I think grandpa was ready to put all goats in timeout. Hope you guys have a blessed & wonderful Thanksgiving day. Love watching the whole families videos.
Time together, as a young married couple, is never time wasted. Building this goat shack together is a learning experience, so enjoy! Just remember "analysis paralysis" adds too much time and stress. Push forward, power through!! As for your dirt floor decision, I may not have gone that route, but, that's just me. Just ensure you don't have run-off issues with water draining from property grade run off, ending up with canals through your dirt floor, down stream. No pun intended. Keep on keeping on Brother and Sister! Godspeed.
Lookin' good, just remember you're not building a watch! Don't over think this. That said, you made a great mud hole if it rains. Maybe you might think about a raised floor in half the shelter, just in case of heavy rain. BTW Happy Thanksgiving!
Great start on the goat shelter. Remember how the land lays and heavy rain running down toward the shelter. Happy Thanking to all of the family. You two are so great together. Love and hugs

Happy thanksgivings to both of you and your beautiful baby's meaning herk and his beautiful sister
You need a night slayer, get a Marauder 2 from Olight. Or step down just a bit with the Marauder Mini. Out walking the trails at night, yeah Seeker 3.
For EDC carry, S2R Baton 2, or a Baton 3.
Yes, I'm an Olight fan.
Love watching you guys.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone, 🙏🙏🙏🙏's and blessings to everyone also.
I LOVE the time lapse!! It is strangely satisfying! I know you guys wish it had gone that fast. Happy Thanksgiving!

The goat pen is looking great so far! God Bless! ❤🙏
Happy thanksgiving to you two, too!❤
You both are doing a great job, and doing it together. Don't worry what anyone says. You have a great structure for the goat hacienda. They are some loved babies. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving day tomorrow.
🥰❤️👊🏻
You two are doing a "great" job 👏 excited for you!
The shelter looks great. I have built a lot of structures for animals without a square or level and they all stood through hurricanes, winter storms and goats.
I'm thankful for Jesus saving me, my church and getting out of Collier County and moving to an agriculture community.
I'm thankful that you share your life with all of us. Happy Thanksgiving,❤❤❤
