BenQ may run a rudimentary calibration on each individual unit and bake that into the firmware. AWOL likely uses a shared profile (like you'd find on most TVs) for the same model so you're probably seeing manufacturing variances.
Yes, a TV can be appropriate for many situations. A UST projecting a 150" image is much larger than 98". Also, in my case, I have it in front of a window, so it's handy that the screen rolls up.

I’ll not be going back to a regular tv after getting a laser projector. I have a 120 inch display now vs a 55 inch oled I had.

I mean you can get a TCL 98 inch tv for 1500 with dolby vison . Projectors need to step up their game
