LOL, so I am thinking about getting my son one of these. My son's icon ended up being a "team bat" last year. Anyways, I totally forgot you guys made a review on this bat. Thank you!
@@jagoramuh4173 thanks for watching! Haha that’s usually how it goes. Both very good bats. This swings a bit lighter than an icon but still has very good pop.
Thanks for the video! How did you know when to move up in bat length? My 8 year old is 4'10" 75 lbs. The 28 looks a little short to me. The 29 looks perfect length but is a little heavy for him. Thanks for the help!
@@scottprice9961 thanks for watching! Honestly it’s hard to tell exactly and really there is no method that is perfect as a lot of it has to do with pure strength. My son is 9, and similar height and weight to yours but he’s very strong for his age. He actually moved up to a 30 and swings it fine. Most people for that height and weight are going to tell you 28 or 29. I think the best indicator to me is simply just how they look swinging it. If they are dipping and causing a lot of pop ups or consistently late on the ball and hitting it to right field on a ball down the middle then the bat is likely a bit heavy. You could always have him swing the 29 in the cages and practice while he adjusts to the weight and still swing the 28 in games for the time being
Both really good choices that swing a bit differently imo. Icon seems a bit hotter but swings a bit heavier. Bonesaber comp swings light but is still pretty hot. Can't go wrong with either!
@@anthonygimmelli6959 yeah would definitely lean bonesaber in that instance! Soldier Tank was also a solid light swinging option. Axe Avenge Pro 3 was somewhere in the middle id say!
Have a 30 -8 (22.6 oz on digital kitchen scale) that the end cap is also slightly “misaligned” I guess would be the word. Doesn’t seem to impact performance. My rising 11u swings it well at 4’9” and 80 pounds.
Yeah no rattles or looseness on our end and we've probably put 500 swings on it at this point. Think its likely just new bat QA that will get ironed out with time!
Great review. How is the bat holding up over the last 3 months and have yall had any game experience? New feedback? I’m really liking this bat and thinking about pulling the trigger for spring for my son. He swings the exact size and drop. Thanks.
@@vantyson3065 really good bat. We swing it pretty often in the cage and even some in games. Lukas still swings the icon in games for the most part but I would say the Icon is a good bit heavier and harder to swing than the Bonesaber. He has used the bonesaber probably the 2nd most in games. Very good bat and easy to swing. No durability issues or anything in ours
Cat is probably a bit hotter on average. That being said the Cat is a good bit heavier than the Bonesaber swing weight wise. Bonesaber is very hot for its light swing weight
The USA Hybrid is heavy as well. The 29-10 is 20.5oz, 30-8 23.5oz, 30-5 26.4oz, Bbcor 32-3 30.4oz, 33-3 31.6oz Still it has nothing on the Select. 29-10 20.9oz
@@PerformanceFactoryBaseball very end loaded in -10, better as you move to bbcor but still end loaded. Biggest punch in USA. Usssa much lighter and more ballanced. It Usssa it performs well for metal. The big thing is the Select has a massive sweet spot.
Pulled the trigger on a Bonesaber Composite 30-8. My 10yo swings a 29-8 Orange Meta, but his USA bat is a Bonesaber hybrid and that is by far his favorite bat in USA, followed by the LS Prime 919. The Bonesaber feels some how lighter than it is.
I have a kid in the 10u space as well. And we used to own the Warstic hybrid for little league. We currently have the Hype usssa. Would you recommend the hybrid or composite for usssa play
@@davidurquides7041 honestly I would say it depends. If he has a lot of pop and sees decent pitching speeds the comp. It’s easy to swing and has some good pop. It’s very good and easy to swing
@PerformanceFactoryBaseball we play AA or D3, occasionally an open tourney, so anywhere between 45-60 pitch speed. He is one of the best when it come to making solid contact and getting on base.
@@davidurquides7041 yeah I would definitely go with the comp. It’s very good. Easy to swing and has plenty of pop. If your kid is consistently barreling up balls it is going to have a lot of pop.
In regards to the end cap looking misaligned my sons bbcor bonesber hybrid is the same. Its apparently not a defect, but it just is that way apparently lol
@@Joe_Momma205 huh interesting lol. Yeah just threw me off and assumed it was a defect. Next time I’m somewhere that carries them I’m going to start checking end caps haha
@@bossman325 haven’t hit with the Zen a ton yet. Definitely swings a bit heavier than the bonesaber in the bucket or 2 we were doing for some break in. We’re going to go here in a bit to take some more swings with it!

Glad to see a review on this. My son swings the USA hybrid and loves it. Been thinking about this or the icon for the usssa space.
