Great video. Have to be honest, my son loves the warstic. I feel it's one of if not the best feeling bats in the hand. Great balance. Great swing on the kid!
@@mweeks8757 yup it’s one of our go-to bats when we’re seeing higher velocity pitching. Very easy to swing and still maintains great pop even while being one of the lightest swinging bats available. Thanks we appreciate it!
Great video as always. Love the comparisons. My son just turned 8 and we ended up finding last years Icon brand new about a month ago and picked it up. He loves it. Also picked up the Pocket Radar to start tracking Exit Velo just for baseline & progress. I will say, the USSSA Icon was 2mph faster than his 1pc Bonesaber USA bat. I believe you were correct when you said composite bats won't make a ton of difference until they reach 9-10 years old with some pop.
@@sonnick thank you we appreciate it! Yeah depending on the kid you will really start seeing the difference around 9-10. The top end kids maybe slightly sooner. Lukas was 8 last year and we started to see the difference but it was small. It will grow more and more the more pitching velocity they see and the stronger they get. The icon is definitely the most game ready drop 10 out of the wrapper though. As your boy gets stronger he will start seeing a difference! It’s fun to see that exit velo go up a steadily over time as they put the work in!
@@jagoramuh4173 thank you we definitely appreciate that! And yes we are going to try and get our hands on some USA bats! Sadly we don’t play anything that actually uses USA (for some reason little league is basically non existent where we live) but we have been curious on testing some out and doing a USSSA vs USA comparison!
I'd like to see a test on that too. I'm on the Big Island in Hawaii, all the organizations & leagues here are USA only. They only have 2 or maybe 3 USSSA Tournament a year here and -5 are not allowed.
@@LippaRippa yeah it’s really interesting. Texas where we are is really one of if not the only “baseball hotbed” that barely plays little league at all. Your channel is very cool,I want to buy a new bat for my 10-year-old son, 31-inch-10. Do you recommend icon or hypefire and zen? Is there a big difference between the power of -10 and -8?
@@刘世祺 all 3 are good. The zen may have the biggest sweet spot of the 3 but also seems to be the least hot. The Icon is usually my choice as it seems to be the best of the drop 10’s. It’s hot while swing weight is fairly in the middle not light but not overly heavy. Hype fire is also solid. A bit lighter than the icon in drop 10 but not quite as hot imo. -8 vs -10 it really depends on the kid. If your son is very big he could potentially swing a drop 8. But I’d be very sure that he maintains a decent swing speed and his mechanics so he isn’t trying to fight the weight.
So the prime is a lot heavier than the icon? We have used LS meta Orange and then the white limited one all drop 10. Wanting to switch to a drop 8 for spring and have loved the Meta bats, always great pop and durability. But now worried it will be too heavy bc he already is switching to a drop 8.. thoughts?
@@cori3394 it’s definitely heavier. Still very solid and seemingly very durable. I think if your kid has a fairly strong swing he will completely fine. None of the bats I’ve seen in drop 10/8 I would consider crazy heavy or very end loaded to be completely honest. Really the only ones I’ve seen like that are the old skinny barrels. Those swing pretty heavy.
@@PerformanceFactoryBaseball ok sounds good. More was worried switching from the -10 to -8 then it already being extra heavy would be too much of a switch. Yah he is a pretty solid power hitter and he has loved the last few Meta bats and they seem to not crack like others we have tried.
@ I wouldn’t be too worried then. Honestly from what I’ve seen kids notice length much more than weight. A kid will notice moving up an inch or 2 way more than they will going to drop 8 from 10. If he has some power I wouldn’t worry about it at all. The icon is also a really solid option for a more power oriented hitter and also seems very durable. My son swung the white one all last season. Games, practice, BP etc… that bat probably had 5000 swings on it and just finally started to develop a small crack
@ yah the icon was the other one I was looking at. He currently swings the a White Meta, so u know kids they want new colors lol and icon is white 😂 I care more about the swing then the color 😂
