I'm in Japan on my own at the moment. I'm finding there's plenty to do and loads to see on your own. It's also nice not having to compromise and having the freedom to do whatever you want. Definitely a very easy country to travel solo.
@Chang I've been using a Japanese SIM card for Google maps and had no issues. I just bought it over the counter at BIC camera. Make sure your phone is unlocked.
@Chang try renting a pocket wifi, not sure about US but in my country we could simply rent it through our local travel agencies and we either pick the pocket wifi at the airport when we arrive or they give it before departure.
I'm an introvert. I do most things solo. Movies, dining out, hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, vacations, and anything else. If a friend wants to come, I'll let them, but I don't need them to enjoy the experience.
My friends are just so lazy they dont wanna leave their home so If i wanna go unless its movies you gotta take a chance lmao. Lifes too short to not do anything
I’m from the States (LA) and I do mostly everything by myself, except for theme parks; haven’t done that yet. I recently traveled to Japan alone for 2 weeks and it was great. I felt right at home actually, Tokyo felt a lot like LA, and I had no problem with the metro systems (I commute to work by metro), eating alone, shopping alone, going to the movies alone, and seeing idol concerts alone! I can speak enough Japanese to get around and have a casual conversation with someone, so I didn’t have too many problems with the language. It was fun, and I’m going back again next year in April; by myself~ 😊 Honestly, I’d prefer to go alone, because it really helps me learn the language better when I’m not speaking English all of the time. It’s also nice to be on “me time” and just go with the flow and not have a schedule or feel bad for not accommodating someone’s wants~ 😅 I met so many cool people too; being friendly really helped with my solo travel experience.
I’ve spent about a year in Japan now and there’s so much to be said about traveling alone or just venturing out for the day solo. I hope everyone tries it at least once if given the chance!!
一人で大丈夫ですよ。もし困ったら周囲の人が助けてくれます。 It's safe to stay in Japan alone. Whenever you have some troubles you can't resolve by yourself, ask those around you, and they will help and assist you.
I am from the U.S. and I have traveled to Tokyo alone on all of my 10 trips to Japan. I like going to live houses and watching the local music scene there. I have made friends with several local musicians and singers. My female musician acquaintances there are very pretty and didn't hesitate to ask me to buy things for them. They also didn't hesitate to let me know that my brother is the handsome one even though they have never met him in person. My self esteem takes a beating each time with these ladies..lol
i was living in Tokyo alone for education purposes and i pretty much did a lot of things alone (i like traveling alone). i went to Hakone for a day trip and enjoyed onsen for the first time, went to museums and also had my first ekiben haha. it was fun to do all of those stuff alone. i went to many places alone and didn't feel awkward or anything. i know some people who can't do things alone (like eating out alone or watching movies alone) but if you're able to do things alone, you can pretty much do a lot of stuff by your own. though i haven't tried going to eat fine dining alone or buffets alone... i've had K-BBQ alone when i was in Jeju and people looked me with so much pity lmao it was funny.
I've been to Japan a half dozen times in the last 3 years, mainly for jpop concerts, traveled solo every time, its great in Japan how many restaurants have counter seating so solo diners dont feel like a dope like here in America! not to mention have a entire hotel room to yourself! still its better sharing the time with others. thankfully I've been able to make friends with some locals in Japan.
I'll be heading to Japan on my own and I am a little nervous because I am doing my best to study the language and at least know the basics before I go over there!
I've been to Japan with a friend and also by myself. I preferred being by myself because I have way more freedom and don't have to worry about my friend.
Hi Moonie Cathy Cat i do a lot of touring round the world on my own but do like the company when ever possible i guess it is easier when you go on you own you can take your travelling at your own pace that is one good thing and as a big Disney fan and regular visitor to Disney yep there are a lot of single line rides hope they might have that in Tokyo i do hope to have company when i go next year!here in the UK i do a lot of things on my own but also with the family!
As far as Disney World goes, I'm just happy when Interstate-4 isn't backed up for kilometers outside the entrance when I drive across the State. My brother and his girlfriend have season passes, and living just 50 minutes away they go all the time.
Your cute, braided pigtails with your bangs down looks absolutely adorable! It’s so cute!!! And I noticed this time, something I’d never really noticed before, is that your hair gets a little reddish hue when worn down under certain light; that’s not even close to a bad thing, you look so pretty!!!
Great video :D At home I go to the movies alone a lot. When going with friends, we end up talking during the movie? I like to go on adventures early in the morning whenever I travel with friends! They usually sleep until noon & it's fun telling them about the places I've discovered when they wake up hehe^^
I usually get anxious being out alone but I felt like in Japan there was so much that catered to lone people so I had a good time the occasions I've been there by myself. But my favourite thing to do there alone is visit parks and gardens during a work/school day where there are few people there.. I can go at my own pace and it's very peaceful agh I miss it now :'o
Hopefully, people will not be alone too much. Japanese are very considerate and friendly if you are able to introduce yourself in the right environment.
I like the strawberry necklace s lot, Cathy always has such cute little accessories 🙂. I prefer to go grocery or clothes shopping myself because I don't enjoy the experience . I plan what I need before hand go to the store, get what I came for and get the hell out. I think that's one of the reasons I love being single because I have had to many girlfriends in the past that wanted to drag me along on all day shopping trips, that was truly my own personal hell.
Question, Do you think it would be easier for a woman or a man to venture alone in Japan? Personally, I think that women would have a better/easier time of it as women are typically more approachable and would probably find it easier to interact with locals; But I'd like to know what y'all think.
I prefer walking around the New York City by myself, rather then with friends. As much as I enjoy their company, I really enjoy listening to music while walking around, or visiting Central Park. It would be rude of me too do this while being in their presence. So I find time to go into the city with them, and also with me alone.
A girl eats alone in Matsuya(that kind of resturant) will get strange looks from the local customer? Japanese seems considers girl eating alone are weird? Why man can do it without getting strange looks?
Two hours ago, I stopped at Matsuya on the way home from work, where there were several women eating alone. This sight is common in Japan. No one cares.
www.athome.co.jp/vox/life/112780/pages2/ Not weird, I used a wrong word to describe, According that survey, some people feel "embarrassed" to eat alone.
I'm a little disappointed so much question time in this video is talking specifically about disney florida instead of japan, despite the title and description...
"I hope you pushed the like button already". You want us to push the like button before we've even watched your video? That's not normally how it works, Cathy. :-/

Should say I'm from the UK but can't see why an American unlocked phone wouldn't work.

@Chang lool murricans and their carrier locked devices
🤣🤣🤣🤣RIP
@Chang I've got T-Mobile and my plan had free international roaming for data. Little slow but perfectly fine for Google Maps!

I'm waiting for you coming back to japan next year!

If I was in japan, I would eat, shop, and walk alone.
enjoy your travel✨🚌🚄🚶🚶
i i I’m only 15 I can’t go by myself, one day I’ll go after I study the language. Thanks for your reply :)

Been to Japan 12 times, each alone.
Open free plan, can literally change plans at any time based on info exchange from other hostelmates n adverts etc
I'm a introvert; I like being alone. 🚶♂️
Freedom to do anything you want, wherever you want, and whenever you want without anyone else's concern is priceless. Solo for life bro 🍻
You'll never meet anyone then
I've been to Japan a half dozen times in the last 3 years, mainly for jpop concerts, traveled solo every time, its great in Japan how many restaurants have counter seating so solo diners dont feel like a dope like here in America! not to mention have a entire hotel room to yourself! still its better sharing the time with others. thankfully I've been able to make friends with some locals in Japan.
Japan really is the place to do things alone tbh. I love it.
I love going on walks alone, or going to cafés by myself :) but I prefer to sit down and enjoy the ambiance haha
I enjoy pre-dawn photography in old Showa-era neighbourhoods.
I'll be heading to Japan on my own and I am a little nervous because I am doing my best to study the language and at least know the basics before I go over there!
That's funny. I am right now in Japan on my own for the first time.
@Nina Hatnelavalampe enjoy

Shopping, restaurants, movies, the works

Me alone in Japan
Ride countryside local train, rail museum and unknown shrine on top of the cliff somewhere.

I like to go for かいてんずし
or shopping at Daiso + Mega donqui
🍣🎡🍨🎡🍣🎡
Is there anything I couldn't do alone? If I wanna do something, I just do it. Why would I rely on other people or compromise?
I have done karaoke and stayed at a roykan by myself on my solo trip.
I loved your final outfit! It’s like strawberry jam 🍓✨
As God is my witness, I saw the woman wearing the Halloween witch hat in the thumbnail and immediately thought, "ooh, Cathy Cat has a new outfit."
I go to the cinema alone all the time.

I see women alone at Matsuya, Tully's or Ramen shops and most men don't notice or care if a woman eats alone.

I'd probably visit the shrines alone. :)
Living in Tokyo, I often go for walks alone. 20+ kilometers in one day is not uncommon.
Lol the indonesian girl is so cute haha

I thought that guy at the beginning was a girl in the thumbnail.

the girl in the black shirt with braids is cute, i bet shes a halfie
the the topics of your video's have become too mundane and dull. spice it up a little.
Somehow I find the second girl's voice and dialect combination a bit...annoying...Maybe it's just the way she speaks, I dunno...
Roku daime agree, That creaky voice anoys the F... out of me
first
Thx 😃
