Thanks once again for bringing something that I never though you would cover on your channel though I must say music has no boundary. Never heard of this album you recommended, but John Renbourn, together with his one-time mate Bert Jansch and of course their classic folk group the Pentangle, is not to be missed. His Black Balloon, the Lady and the Unicorn and Sir John Arlot albums are among the very top of English guitar music. By saying that, I must say though he was a technically very accomplished guitarist, let's not forget that Bert Jansch was very inspiring and if not more influential or popular, though both have never achieved great commercial success which is a loss to people who like the guitar. For people who are interested, Bert Jansch's River Sessions, Rosemary Lane and Birthday Blues apart from his brilliant debut album are not to be missed. In fact, Bert's cover of John's Ladye Nothinge is sensational especially in the live recording of River Sessions. As for the Pentangle, that has to be the story of another day. Please keep up the great work and the passion for wonderful music regardless of their genre.

Hi Phil - WOW that looks amazing. Its so sad that acoustic music doesnt get much airplay these days. Just watched one of Clives Sunday evening concerts - WOW, just superb technique. I am a big fan of John Renbourn and that whole mid / late 60's folk scene. Renbourn, Drake, Jansch, Graham, Grossman, McTell, Wizz Jones, Donovan, etc etc - all the great English players. It was because of Stefan Grossman that I actually got into acoustic guitar in the first place. I use to communicate with Stefan way back in the mid / late 60's and bought a 10 cassette set of instructional guitar of John Fahey - that was life changing. I do try and play guitar, lol and I can play a few Fahey instrumentals, along with a couple of Bert Jansch's, Angie of course (every guitar player must play that one lolol) but Renbourn is a step to far I think lol. Fairport Convention will always be my favourite folk band from that era, and Sandy Denny one of the great English female singers of my generation. Anyway Phil - sorry to ramble, but I love to hear acoustic music. Great to see you giving Clive a huge plug. Cheers Doug
