- DAN DA DAN is coming to Crunchyroll October 2024!
This is a story about Momo, a high school girl who comes from a family of spirit mediums, and her classmate Okarun, an occult fanatic. After Momo rescues Okarun from being bullied, they begin talking. However, an argument ensues between them since Momo believes in ghosts but denies aliens exist, and Okarun believes in aliens but denies ghosts exist.
To prove to each other what they believe in is real, Momo goes to an abandoned hospital where a UFO has been spotted and Okarun goes to a tunnel rumored to be haunted. To their surprise, they each encounter overwhelming paranormal activities that transcend comprehension. Amid these predicaments, Momo awakens her hidden power and Okarun gains the power of a curse to overcome these new dangers! Their fateful love begins as well!?

Fun Fact: The mangaka of Dandadan, Yukinobu Tatsu, was one of Fujimoto's assistants for the series Fire Punch. The other assistants were Yuji Kaku (Jigokuraku) and Tatsuya Endo (Spy x Family).

Tatsu and Fujimoto are really good friends as well. Fujimoto was one of the first people to recommend Dandadan. I really like seeing friendship among mangakas.

kensuke makes songs like these for regular ost tracks so if youd be happy with this as the op i think ur gonna like the entire ost

I love Momo's voice!!! I had recently watched SSSS.Dynazenon, which her VA was in as FMC, when Dandadan was announced so it's cool to see her get another lead role.
Shion's role as Takina from Lycoris Recoil boosts her popularity so much. Really happy for her, she was amazing as Yume in Dynazenon
She's a pretty good fit I think she'll be great as Momo! Except I've never heard her line at 0:22 till recently, it sounds, kinda too non-human or something 😅 lol

all i saw was smooth animation with aliens, so i made a joke about how everything trigger touches eventually has aliens in it.
Now that I think about it, I would've loved this to have gone to Trigger.

Space Dandy was by BONES. Although the character designer - Yoshimichi Kameda might be what got my attention for Dan Da Dan.

Science Saru is the perfect studio for this. Theres a lot more than action in this and they can do both with their incredibly unique style. This is going to be a masterpiece.
Going to be a great year for anime. Looking forward to what Kaijuu no.8 looks like.
I still think Demon Slayer will out class all of them in quality but their genuienly might be another One Punch S1 contender this year.
I'm ignoring One Punch S3 altogether though. The fact they're using the same studio as last time means they ignored fans and plowed ahead.

The flat colors in that thumbnail did NOT look good... But it looks pretty good in motion! Seems like they have some unusual and interesting visuals to go with the intense story, let's hope the animators make something great!
