We're going through a heat wave here in Southern California, so this is a nice escape. If I turn up the A/C enough, it's as if I'm there. Thank you for the wonderful compilations! Frasier's been my favorite show since I was in my late teens (28 now).
I recall one Seattle rainstorm when my family visted the area when I was in the 4th grade. We went on trail, with covered areas, and it really came down. As time went by, there are two things about the rain I expect. The one I hate about rain is driving in it, not as much as driving in snow mind you. The one thing I like about rain is when you find the right place to stand with plenty of rocks. The smell of wet rock is just one of the best smells ever, in my opinion. I don't know why, but I enjoy that.
For those who have never lived in the Seattle area, it isn't a constant monsoon. Nine months out of the year there's a frequent drizzle; fall and winter are cold and drizzly, while spring has morning showers and the sun breaks through in the afternoon. Every summer I was in the area was bone dry though, to the point the grass turned yellow.
That was the thing that irritated me the most. It never really rained it just misted all day long for months without ever getting a good downpour. I love a good rain downpour, thunderstorm and all but that was never something that happened.
Gotta love when Daphne casually talks about her eccentric mother. 🤣🤣🤣 2:30 Daphne: Of course when I was a little girl, I hated the rain. Stuck inside, couldn't go out and play. But my mom would always say, "Enjoy it while you can. There'll be no water in hell." Of course that was her answer for everything. "Eat your veggies, there'll be no brussel sprouts in hell. Have a lie down, there'll no naps in hell."
@@chrisparkes2179 Agreed! I love Millicent Martin as an actress and her portrayal as Gertrude Moon was excellent! However, I preferred to not see the actual character, like we have never seen Maris. There's something powerful in an unseen character like Maris. 😊 However, I did find it amusing seeing Daphne's dad, Harry. Actor Brian Cox. He was unexpected! Loved how Niles went all the way to Manchester to locate Daphne's father.
I guess I must be missing something about the Frasier humour. It rains in Seattle - that's the joke? I lived there for 20 odd years and it's not so bad compared to the UK and I did get caught in a Kona storm in Hawaii where once I got out of the car and closed the door, I was as wet as it was possible to get. Maybe you just have to build a connection with the characters or something but any time I've tried watching this show, it just comes across as lazy writing and relying on the laugh track.
I'm in the UK and used to get annoyed at how the English accents were handled (in one case by a British actor who should have known better). But an American said to me once, it's a comedy show that relies on audience familiarity. So they use accents they know won't baffle the average US viewer. I suppose it's the same with the rain. It's a stereotype they knew would make people laugh. Even before Frasier I was aware of Seattle's reputation as being very wet. Apparently they did have a live audience but used a laugh track to boost up laughs that didn't record well. Anyway, I'mglad to know you didn't have to travel by gondola when you lived there though.
I don't think you go by the weather to show humour in a show lol. Its clever writing by showing the WHOLE scene characters, situation and atmosphere and mood. I'm a brit and I've seen all the seasons and it's clever writing. Maybe you're just not quick enough to catch it. I guess you're not liking and grasping the characters intellect properly. Go watch friends. You'll like the characters more lol
I'm sure Frasier was joking. You know, because of all that rain! 🤣 And true, the official state flower of Washington is Coast rhododendron aka Pacific rhododendron, or big leaf rhododendron.
Frasier with his umbrellas always cracks me up! 😂☔️🌧🌂

My part of SoCal is finally getting some rain today because of the hurricane in Baja, so its funny ParaFrasier posted this today.
@@tjhollman8803 Same!
Northern California got to 109° so yes watching this was wondering. (:

Yep, you do get 3 months of reasonable weather - I’ll give you that.
I once asked a transplant from L.A. what they thought of Seattle, and she said "Well, it isn't L.A.." I took that as a compliment.

I was born and raised in Seattle. To this day, I love a good thunderstorm.
As someone who lives in London UK 🇬🇧 I relate to Seattle weather! Once again thank you for these marvellous clips
A rainy Frasier episode is comforting.
I grew up on Frasier an these videos are awesome

I was disappointed when she actually turned up. She was one of the great unseen characters in comedy.

Frasier with umbrellas 🌂 is always a win
Excellent compilation of the rain that frasier 'loved' ❤ enjoying my cuppa tea 🍵 in the dry watching this 👌

Rain? No, Gid is crying.
The state flower is mildew!
I live in Washington, north of Seattle by the Canadian Border and I wish we had some rain, because the smoke from Oregon is making the sky brown.
Not much better in south King County.
Everett area. My eyes burn and my sinuses hurt
Nicely compiled!
Down here in Florida we call this hurricane season.
It's raining where I live, I needed this

Great compilation !! I never stop laughing at the death announcement by the news
Possibly one of my favorite “Dear God” Moments
This is the best channel ever
Top work.
You’ve got to make an Eddie compilation next mate.
There's actually a short Eddie video coming out tomorrow and a longer one on the 20th so stay tuned!
@@parafrasier cannot wait !
I adore Frasier.
Thank you 😁👍😁
I would love to sit in the Eames chair looking out of the window, watching the rain, with a cup of tea
I live in Portland. I can relate.
How many umbrellas were sacrificed to make this series?🤔
Frasier: Oh god he's wet too. (Eddie) 💦🐶💦😆

It was filmed before a studio audience and won countless Emmy's for the writers
Here's a clue ... it starts with a sense of humor, then go from there. Good luck with that!

The Washington state flower is Pacific rhododendron, and NOT mildew.

You're not very smart are you??
😂😂😂😂 You tell’em!
We know. (It's called a joke).
Those were not good.
