It still amazes me how many wins Steve Kinser has there. (38) Him and Karl had it figured out. Don Kreitz jr was really good there as well . Especially when the track got dry slick. He was really smooth on the bottom. My first time there was in 1983 and Keith Kauffman was the guy to beat in the Al Hamilton 77. There is so much history and there are so many amazing drivers that have competed there over the years. Thanks for the video.
I got beer spilled on me by these people intentionally for the crime of wearing a joey saldana shirt, awesome race tracks in PA but they take the rivalry way to seriously
Best and most loyal fans in the country, people hate the posse because they’re the only ones who can consistently beat the national drivers. That’s why it’s a rivalry. And that’s what makes it fun. Wouldn’t be any fun if the outlaws came to PA and won every single race every single year, but they don’t and that’s what makes it great.
Love it or hate it, this track is important to sprint car racing, and would be a damn shame if it goes away. Everyone talking crap should come to New York. You don’t know how good you have it in PA. Tracks up here still use the same lighting from the 80s.
@@EdWinnotaGrandstands will give you a full view but if you really want to get an idea of how fast they go at The Grove, stand in the infield, in turn three. I’ve been going there for forty years and I still can’t believe it.
When I first went to The Grove, one thing that got me excited was the sound of all those sprint cars idling in the infield putting heat in their motors. After I went back a few times and realized that I couldn't see the backstretch over those car haulers,I stopped going. You have to sit way up high in the season ticket holders spots in order to see the whole track. I can sit on the bottom row at Port Royal and see the whole track! It also has better lighting and facilities. No more driving five hundred miles from Maine to look at car haulers.
The groves greatness lies in its history alone. In 2024, a tracks best feature being bathrooms and an infield is outdated. Hell even stinking Lincoln speedway has a damn jumbotron replay screen, a beer garden deck, updated grandstands and the list goes on and on. Williams Grove is ran by people with so much ego and pride that it's killing the track. Look at a regular weekly show and tell me a 17 car field is great.....even during speedweek they barely got a full field
These bigger tracks are important. Woo should own their own track. Mineral Wells in Wv is available. Should try to get a coalition together, see if the county/city will pay for the some of the opps and get a sponsor to pay for the promotions, get the county/state to pay for track upgrades.
If the owners daughter would put into the track the money and effort her father did before he passed and she took over it would be a rival to port for certain
It used to be the best facility and track in pa back when the old man was still alive... soon as he died and his daughter took over it went to shit.. she only cares about lining her pocket and doesn't put anything back into the place and it's suffering for it sadly
My father took me to opening day back in 1959, I was 6 months old. Been going to the grove ever since. Watched Foyt, Andretti, Tilley, Opperman, Weld, Kinser and hundreds of others. Been to so many races there I couldn't begin to count. Tracks got big screen replays, scoreboard, modern toilets, great food, plenty of seating, good lighting. Yea, the split pits suck. The surface is a weekly letdown. And their continual avoidance of media coverage is maddening. The current owners have let all the fans down multiple times.
One of my favorite driver interviews ever. "They told me I sucked and that motivated me to win!!!"
I remember hearing those guys hounding Donny under that red flag.
Reminds me of NASCAR’s Martinsville, where Rusty Wallace famously said it’s “like flying fighter jets in a gymnasium”.

The Grove!!!! Sprint car racing’s hallowed grounds
One of the top sprintcar tracks in the country. Something about big races here feels right.
PA POSSE WINS!! 4 posse in the top 7. Eat that!! TJ with a great victory speech. He’s a working man.
Great video. Thanks 🇺🇸🍀🇺🇸
My dad, JAN OPPERMAN was the KING of this track. Jan Opperman, the original outlaw.
Opperman is an icon.
Moved from Central PA 13 years ago to Northern Nevada.
I miss going the Grove, loved those Friday nights.
So many great tracks in Central PA
were you ever at Lindas Speedway?
As someone who's new to dirt track racing i didn't realize so many people hated the PA Posse
I got beer spilled on me by these people intentionally for the crime of wearing a joey saldana shirt, awesome race tracks in PA but they take the rivalry way to seriously
I don't hate the PA drivers at all, it's the braindead fans.

Loved racing that track on Saturday Night Speedway on the old ps2...
New world of outlaws game is alot of fun too
It's weird seeing a track you live near on a TH-cam video
Yeah the track ia quite different from other ovals. PA has some interesting racing conditions.

THe car haulers have gotten ridiculous.. Might have been alright parking in the infield back in the days of open trailers but certainly not anymore.
Never been to that track maybe one day but i doubt it.
Imagine telling Donny Schatz he sucks 😂 never change PA hillbillies
😂😂 stop trying to rile up the hill people
He's raced enough there over the years and he did suck for a long time there.. learned from getting beat up on by kinser and the posse
Stay mad at our greatness Midwesterners
They need to stick to the 1/4th mile cow pastures 😂
Out motoring people on death trap tracks dosn't equal greatness
We'll, raise you an Eldora.

@@chris2furred it's charm is that it's not full of creature comforts like those other tracks. It's racing, not an NFL game
Getting into one and off of two, end of story.

The outlaws own volusia speedway park
World Racing Group does own race tracks lol Do some research
Less water on the straightaways will produce better racing.
Donny had a bad crash there
so did Schuchart
Sammy's was pretty bad!
Wish we could move this track to somewhere in the Midwest, great track with immense history, wasted on PA hicks.

Yet one of the worst facilities in central PA. Owners hardly put money back into the facility. Lincoln. Port and Baos have all surpassed this facility

Port is wonderful, my favorite track, I love the grove for the historical aspect but you’re right
For years I've dreamed they would love the damn big ass haulers out of the infield.
@@aaronrider4051 I just want the cushion more than 50% of the way up the track for heats
Get the haulers out I agree
posse wins again
Go DONNY SCHATZ to VICTORY!!!!!! .. AGAIN!!!
Awesome track, horrible fans. Love when national drivers whoop the posse ESPECIALLY ohio guys
Bill rose and Zearfoss need to get off the tour, they are trash
