As I'm of Irish heritage I was told about the War Shillelagh, The long fighting stick that never had the thorns removed. It was like fighting with nails sticking out of a piece of 3 by 2.

There was an incident in Spain in 1807 where a coach carrying several seminarians from the Irish college in Salamanca, was held up on a lonely country road by two brigands with knives.
One of the seminarians disarmed both thieves with an Irish fighting stick.

Ive one very similar...got it from a charity shop for a pound. Its a very old stick with the bole of the stick exactly the same. Are they of any value...it just feels like a weapon..also..do you think hurling comes from this tradition,?... what came first, the chicken or the egg. The Philippines have a massive stick fighting tradition❣️if in doubt..hug it out ©️
