    I think the idea they had going was that the US infantry basically outgunning every other factions by a significant margin in most respects including the first squad; made the developers feel it balanced having the tanks be a crawl to get through. It’s cool they have all the variants but it just makes so much empty space.

    IMO the problem with US tree is the armor line, instead of going from weak to strong, it goes from good to murder machine, which means they cost a lot of tech to unlock

      @@SirJellyBean I hate it tbh, cause unlike USSR or Germany in basically forced to go all in on tanks early to not get fucked by scout cars (why did the AI even use them early), where as those 2 I can go for a mixed unit, it didn't help that US don't have lmgs untill late Inf, BAR slaps but I prefer belt fed lmgs

    The M9 bazooka carries the second version of the rocket which actually does something like 100 mm of penetration, but you have to select it in the "ammo type" tab in the weapon menu to see it. In-game you can just bring a M1 bazooka team and an M9 bazooka team and aim at one of your tanks to see the difference in pen. The M7 AT rifle grenadiers with the Garand also have much higher pen than the Springfield version.

    The problem with the Sherman is that it doesn't compare with the tanks it was designed against or the ones of its design year.
    The Panzer IV and the T-34 were at the end of their development possibilities from 1945 onwards. Only the Sherman could not keep up a little longer as the Israeli M-50/ M-51 show.

    • @SirJellyBean
      @SirJellyBean  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      true but the heavy Sherman variants with there thick and angled armour had better frontal protection than a tiger 1

      @spicey4522 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      US armored doctrine had Shermans as infantry support first, with dedicated anti-tank battalions running M10s and M18s. The 75 shermans were excellent multi-purpose vehicles with adequate armor for a frontline vehicle (they could and reportedly did bounce panther shells on occasion), effective HE shells, could pen most German vehicles depending on range and angle of attack. Shermans armed with 76mm guns could pen tigers from the front at range, and as Jelly said the jumbos had comparible amor to something like a tiger. Very versitile tanks, with a mediocre reputation in media because 1 book claimed they were deathtraps (even though they had the highest crew survivability of the war by FAR).

      @@SirJellyBean I dont mean to be a downer or too negative, but I genuinely havent enjoyed my Liberation conquests very much at all as opposed to the more vanilla ostfront engagements.
      America seems pretty trooper heavy and while they do deal a lot of damage, no one on this earth can take a howitzer shell. The units are generally very expensive, squishy, and because of that, I havent been having much fun with them, if Im being completely honest. I havent gone too deep down the tank trees because they generally cost an arm and a leg to research and Im already fighting for my life as it is on normal difficulty.
      I think I take the most umbrage with the maps in general. I mean theyre very detailed and high quality, definitely historic, but I dont like the layout to play in. There are many walls and obstructions everywhere in all these urban/bocage maps. Because of the environment, it feels more difficult to detect enemy emplacements/positions.
      There are two mortars protected by a flak gun and an mg42? GG you. Whoops! But theres also a 75mm howitzer in a bush you didnt see! There goes half of your 400 manpower squad. Whoops! Didnt realize there was a firing angle from deep within the woods! That 4.7cm just claimed your 770-manpower 105mm howitzer because I guess the barrel is just peeking over the bocage! But you cant retaliate with your second cannon because a house is in the way. Your arty cant take the shot. Whoops, your manual arty shot collided with the side of a cafe and there goes the other half of your beleaguered squad!
      I feel better for having vented that. Thats been my general experience in liberation conquest.
      I get that Im not very good at this game apparently, but I generally enjoy the units and maps much much more in vanilla Ru vs Gr.
