I used to watch every one of your videos and was always excited to learn when you had uploaded a new one. I too am a Francophile and have a particular love of Paris and, as a Brit, it's been easy for me to visit the city on a regular basis. My last visit was around 2 years ago and coincided with the start of a 2 month Interrail adventure that took me by train (and a ferry across the Adriatic!) around much of Europe. But then, on my homeward leg, whilst in Lyon, this strange virus that everyone was talking about was described by the WHO as a pandemic and the then French Prime Minister declared that all public places were to close. A TGV and Eurostar train the next day brought me back to the UK and, shortly afterwards, depression and a complete breakdown led me down into some pretty dark times. Travelling became just a distant memory. I am currently resurfacing from those dark times at a rate roughly in step with the death throws of the COVID virus. I have just "rediscovered" your channel and realised I have much catching up to do. Thank you for being part of my journey back to normality.
Late to the vlog but the chateau looks amazing! I love what you've done to it, Jay. Very warm and inviting and with so much personality. I thoroughly enjoyed going along with you on your shopping (or seek and you shall find) expedition. Sam is a great friend!
Hey Jay. Loving your weekly vlogs and seeing your evolution. I really look forward to them. My favorite things are shopping for the home, decorating, and Paris so this vlog was very enjoyable to watch. It’s wonderful to see you doing so well. All the best.
Jay, I hadn't seen you in a while. You look great. I hope you shared your health and fitness journey. I will definitely look for some prior videos leading up to this great result. I'm going through a transformation myself and could use some encouragement and motivation.
Good on you! Keep it up =D I am planning to do one once I'm all finished, but there are a few little updates along the way that you should find. Hang in there!
First of all, your diligence has paid off with your fitness goals and achievements. You're looking healthy and fit, good sir. Secondly, that reno looks outstanding. The shelves and everything with them made that space 1000% more livable. Sitting up there will feel way better, me thinks.
Love seeing the evolution of your tiny home in Paris! I can't wait until the day when you have your very own home in Paris -- maybe once you get that citizenship! :)
Hi Jay. I'm happy to see you back and making your chateau a cozy place to live. I moved out of a third floor apartment I lived for 13 years to a nice roomy one on the first floor. It's right in a town with a nice business district I can walk around with. I had to get rid of a lot of stuff I collected over the years I didn't need to keep anymore. I also got some new furniture. I'm closer to my family if I want to see them. I got my Covid booster shot last month so my vaccination card is up to date. It looks like you lost some weight. I hope to do that in the coming months so I can have the energy to do more things. The pace of life here is not so hectic as it was before so that will be easier on my wellbeing and mental health. We just had our first big snow so itt's prettty cold outside but inside it's nice and warm. I hope you do well in this less thn hectic period and when you are ready you can return to do more on your strolls around Paris. Is your bicycle working well ? Take care and all the best in this New Year. I'll lok for your videos as always. Tom From Pittsburgh.
Too funny, the Washington bag is either from Sam's or Costco. I'm in Texas and have Dallas, Ft. Worth and Austin bags from there. I can't remember which one. Very useful. Love the Chauteaux' evolution and yours as well.
Looks really great! I never imagined such a tiny appartment could be such a beautiful place! However with all this paper and electric items I would recommend leaving some space for a smoke detector :)
Evening Jay on first thought i was thinking what a new Chateau then watching the slow progress its a wow Wendy my better half thinks the Globe is brill not too bright but eye catching very relaxing vid to watch from my end but assuming a little stress ur end sorting out stuff
Well done Sir : - ) Enjoy the zen you are creating. My top top tip, is to always make one's bed - this sets up your intention for the day and is for me a key to joy upon snuggling down at night. Hello from London ; - )
Thanks! Glad you like it =D Google helps turn on and off the smart lights, but I need to get some smart plugs for the dumb lights. Tried it during lockdown and failed, but I think it's because my wifi was incompatible with what I bought
I wonder if you could use a radio signal system? Radio Shack used to sell them in the States. They are used in a lot of products that would either be awkward or impossible to set up as remote otherwise. I couldn't see the elephant very well ; - < I think you are heading in the right direction. As an interior designer my cardinal rule with clients is that nobody comes to your home to have an experience of Architectural Digest. They come to have an experience of you. Your home definitely reflects who you are.
The Chateau is looking great. Looks really cozy in there! How you get so much into that tiny space is amazing! Loved that retro shop. I can spend hours in places like that. There’s no way I could manage that elephant’s head! I would end up an axe-wielding psychopath lol. Great vlog Jay!
I haven't been around for a while. You are looking slimmer. Hope it cos of exercise and healthy living. And not COVID! Your space looks very cool. Hard to remember what it looked like in past years.
Sam’s light looks interesting. I appreciate his focus on using recyclable materials. Bearing that in mind, maybe even the styrofoam packing peanuts in its carton could also be substituted with paper packing material. I’m not sure how convenient people will find trying to recycle styrofoam. Paper is likely easier to recycle and it biodegrades more readily if it’s not recycled. I recall how difficult it was to recycle plastic bags in Paris as recently as a few years ago!
Love watching the chateau flourish into a wonderful sanctuary! DIYing and buying second hand is so smart. BTW, soaking in nail polish remover makes peeling off the super glue on your hands much easier.
Hello from the USA August is vacation month for the Parisiens so many small shops and restaurants are closed with a little sign in the window that says"See you in a month" BUT the museums and tourist spots are still open. The city is noticeably less hectic cause lots of Parisiens leave town. It can be very hot also
Haha, the perks of bachelorhood. If I could _SEE_ my bed from the rest of my apartment, I'd probably make it. But since I only see it when crawling in or out of it, seems like a waste of time - I just want to go straight to sleep

Ohhhhh! I really like those shelves up high. It really warmed up your space. Cool globe! What a great find! I'm glad you're happy in your Chateau. 😊
It really did - funny how it makes it feel both bigger and cozier all at once =)
Great ocean photo!
It's actually a painting by my buddy Hillary
Hi Jay good tosee you. I love a project. Great idea for the shelves. Sam is really talented. Enjoy your new space.
Thank you!
Love the vibe, Jay! I’m a map/globe fan too. That lamp is amazing. Enjoy your space.
Thank you! It definitely added a lot
Well done Jay - Your little Chateaux has been transformed into a lovely cosy home. Sam is a real pal to help you so much.
Tiny apartments and tiny houses are such a trend! I am obsessed with the coziness of it! You definitely have created a good vibe in your apartment 👍🏻
You’re chateau is amazing! 🤯🥰

Thank you so much! I'm happy with it all
Hey Sam! Love the lamp!!!

Thank you so much!
Love look of the Chateau! And loved getting to shop around Paris with you.
Fun to bounce around a bit =D
Who doesn't love a diy chateau video! Thanks Jay. You've inspired me to hang my framed pieces that are underfoot.
Cheers! 😎
Love the Chateau transformation Jay! You are an inspiration!
Thank you!
Jay! The chateau is looking amazing. It’s just such a lovely, warm space. And barely recognizable from when you first moved in. 😂
It's crazy to look back and see where it started!

10:42 he was so angry and you put him in the video anyway 😂
Coincidentally, just watched the video where you got the Banksy book, then noticed the book's serendipitous cameo at 12:55.
I love the warm glow of the fairy lights. Everything looks great. So cozy. I would hate to leave the loft. I love high places.
Love the Washington State bag! It's my home.
Not a bad place to be from if I do say so myself =D
The Chateau is looking sooo good!
Looks so beautiful!
Thank you!
I want to move to Paris so much!
I totally get it =D

I have that very same issue with the Rode wireless mic!
Wow! It looks fantastic Jay!!
Love those shelves, am going to give my room a make over soon so will get these. Thanks.
You should go on Apartment Therapy. Your place is fascinating for that segment. And it might pull more subscribers to your social media.
It does feel therapeutic to be here =D
I know it is state side, but if you could get a WooZoo fan from Costco, I think you'd be sooooo stoked having that in your place!
Love seeing the evolution of your tiny home in Paris! I can't wait until the day when you have your very own home in Paris -- maybe once you get that citizenship! :)
love it!
Thanks!

As you change so does living space
Lol at the Darth voice visuals 🤣
The only thing I could do to salvage it haha
Nature et découverte est un de mes magasins préférés, c'est toujours une aventure chez eux.

Looks awesome! Way better than what I imagined. Btw, we have an “Alexa” to turn on our lamps and we love it
Thanks! Glad you like it =D Google helps turn on and off the smart lights, but I need to get some smart plugs for the dumb lights. Tried it during lockdown and failed, but I think it's because my wifi was incompatible with what I bought

I 💕 LOVE maps and globes myself….great decor!!!

Haha, it was definitely a bit of a nightmare at points but I ended up really enjoying the dexterity-distraction. Made for a nice change of pace =D
Great video thanks 😊 (I’ve read your book, btw. Interesting.) 👍
Thanks! Hope it was a worthy read =)
It's like a cruise ship cabin to travel long distance on Parisian ocean

Wow....It looks bigger on the inside! Does it time-travel, too? Very lovely: an extension of your soul!
Looks great! It definitely changes the way you feel when your space reflects who you are a bit more.
I'm loving it
Hey Jay. You could always plug the power strip into one of the voice activated smart plugs and use that to turn the entire strip on and off.
I tried that once but the plugs didn't work with my wifi. Gotta try again!
60% of my house is wired this way now. Super handy and worth the effort to figure out.
You finally gave in and joined the army of hammer drillers. Try 3M VHB double sided tape for a super strong bond.
I eventually decided to try and give as good as I got ;D
L'univers de Jay 💕💕
Beautiful design. Only problem - dusting. It still looks great today.
Did you rent that place?
Love watching the chateau flourish into a wonderful sanctuary! DIYing and buying second hand is so smart.
BTW, soaking in nail polish remover makes peeling off the super glue on your hands much easier.
That'll be helpful the next time I get myself stuck to myself! 😆
You look slim. I don't get notifications from your channel so I haven't seen your recent videos until now but you seem slimmer ;)
Yeah he lost 100 lbs. Or close
We made it onto your photo wall!
are you able to host people in the space? if so how many can fit?
Fifteen flamingos. Approximately. 🤔🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩
Is anything open in August in Paris

PS I speak from experience
Great answer =D
Jay - Will there be a “bike update” video upcoming? Wth happened to it this time? I thought u finally caught some luck with it … for awhile. 😢
Its sleeping space.
The picture would be better on the shelf itself . A mon humble avis d'architect d'interieur.
I think you tiny Parisien appartement looks bigger than my tiny Montrealais appartement.
Lol
Montréalaise ? Un appartement calisse . C'est masculin. 😊
I never make my bed either, annoys the wife
Haha, the perks of bachelorhood. If I could _SEE_ my bed from the rest of my apartment, I'd probably make it. But since I only see it when crawling in or out of it, seems like a waste of time - I just want to go straight to sleep
