I’m so glad Bordeaux made this, you can tell they have the passion and knew what the fans wanted. It’s unfortunate that they were restricted by the Valhalla engine but it seems they sped up the parkour
It's the same engine from unity, you can say that the foundations for the game was unfortunately valhalla. This is why basim sometimes climbs a ledge like he weighs over 100KGs

This is the best mirage gameplay I've seen by far! Very impressive Assassinations are clean and true to the original AC's. However, I do wish they added more variety (not the teleportation).

A bigger and more dense open world with Hitman level of open ended assassination mission. That's pretty hard to achieve imo. Definitely not a 2010 level of game design.
If you tap the parkour up button before Basim hits the ground, he’ll do a classic roll instead of the falling sideways roll animation. This only works if it is a height that may cause Basim damage from a jump.
I can't seem to do that... been trying for the last couple of days... pressing space as fast I could... I've seen people do that on other YT vids though Ubi needs to patch this to make it easier, just like in Valhalla...
So far I’m loving the game. Only a few hours in and it’s one of my favorite Assassin’s Creed games, and I’ve played them all. The stealth is so good and the animations are so cool to watch
That's a pretty strong statement. I've heard from others that it's pretty good but it suffers from weak pacing, fragmented plot and overly repetitive gameplay. I've also played all the other (mainline) AC games and I can't really pick which one is my favourite, but I can say I think Unity had the best traversal system, Brotherhood had the best setting and story and (perhaps controversially) I really enjoyed playing AC3 mainly because of Ratonhake:ton's hookshot thing that could be used to pull dudes towards the bush you're in or to straight up hang them from a tree. Best character is, obviously, Ezio because he's charming and kind of a bad-boy without being a prick about it, but he also has strength of character and integrity that he maintains all the way through his story.
These games are so trash now. Could have evolved with the times but stayed stagnant-ACB and AC2 are some of my all time favorites. This franchise is dying.
tbh for the most part your tools are all you need to get multikills in this game. The assassin focus' only unique utility is...well, teleporting. Or the rare long-distance double tap where two guys are standing next to each other but you can't reach them without being caught (and so you just throw a knife at one and warp to the other).
Daayyymmm, so this is how AC Mirage when when it played by the right hand. The gameplay trailer doesn't even come close to this. But i think that's the right move from Ubisoft, to make us not being drown by expectations especially for casual player 😅. If this video used for the trailer, i'm sure they will just disappointed when it's release because they can't do the same thing and move like this 😂

I genuinely don't understand the negative reviews. I like this game more than the last 3 AC games combined. It is an actual assassin game. A game that deserves the AC title.

When you are running at 100% speed against a person you're about to kill, you won't be able to go into a complete halt to kill it. That's what I like about Unity that has semi-realistic stealth takedowns with a little bit of physics involved. Story be damned.
There are people who call Mirage unnecessarily a Valhalla clone. You all misunderstood it Mirage isn't supposed to revolutionize the series, it's supposed to evoke nostalgia and be a mix of the old and mostly new elements of the series. Accepts that the older Acs are history and have they place in the series appreciate that Ubisoft has taken into account the interests of the fans. Great video of representing the highlights of AC Mirage!
It's not even that they didn't want to make it like the older games in terms of parkour, rather they just couldn't. They had to work with what they have. I am sure the developers would had loved to make a full scale game like unity from the ground up, with all the new climbing animations.

I think the small stops between the jumps and the assassination kills having the same animation and also having a stop stops basim from feeling fast. They are only small things but if theuy are fixed than the gameplay would be fluid and smooth as hell

Also, I live the slow mo knife throw ability but how about they tweak it so that throwing knives takes more technique and skill form the player rather than just locking on.
Why didn't UBISOFT created a promo with this type of gameplay. Everyone is complaining how the Parkour is not on par with previous games, this gameplay says otherwise.
If they built this game off of Origins instead of Valhalla and made the same improvement to gameplay it would’ve been perfect . I feel like Origins had so much more life .

What I hate about AC assassination is that the enemy suddenly ready or fix their positions before they got assassinated. Like wtf?? 😂
The novice robes are way more beutiful then the most advanced robes in my eyes, especially due to the blue hijab that Basim uses inside the hoodie.
