I just discovered your channel and I like it. Can I ask you a question? Each day we have thousands of thoughts. A small minority is functional, the rest is mainly negative and repetitive (ego).
Shouldn't overcoming the ego lead to a significant drop in the daily number of thoughts or will their number stay the same and do we simply have to try to ignore ego-related thoughts?
Or, to twist it around, why would these thoughts keep appearing if the ego has been seen through as illusory?
Did or do you experience a decreasing number of ego-related thoughts?

The total number of ego related thoughts drop significantly with time. But initially it’s about adopting an approach where these thoughts just pass you by much like clouds passing by a clear sky and you practice being just a witness to those thoughts knowing they are inconsequential.

@@AtmanUnleashYourSoul Thanks for your answer. I am sorry for persisting. If life is but a dream, KNOWING it is just a dream should not only lead to a significant drop in the number of thoughts but to death of the ego as well. Suppose you could dream a dream again with ONE difference only: this time you KNOW you are dreaming although you still don't know what will happen or how the dream will end. Wouldn't you have way less thoughts compared to the first time because you now see through the ego as an illusion? Doesn't the fact that there are still many useless thoughts mean the ego is still alive? Why do those thoughts keep appearing (they never would have in my second dream)?
May I quote Ramana Maharshi: 'only destruction of the ego is liberation.'
