Obito would almost always use his Kamui for defense and evasion, avoiding hits and in running away from enemy's grasp. Meanwhile Kakashi would almost always use his Kamui in order to teleport/warp something else, for example: Deidara's arm or Gedou Mazou's head. Their usage of the Jutsu's different, and cannot be compared.

So, for Danzo it is 24 hours because he has Hashirama cells. Shisui is the original owner of Kotoamatsukami, I think his cooldown period would be the shortest. Shortest known Cooldown time is 24 Hours. So, I think for Shisui it is less than 24 hours since he is the original owner. Not to forget that Shisui was actually planning to use Kotoamatsukami on entire Uchiha clan. That's don't even seem possible if the Cooldown period have been 10 years

The quick pan with the iconic sharingan sound into the Mangekyou Pattern to then reflect back & trace the missile in a red shaded environment almost like Kamui is a wild animal hunting its prey, finally the music synchronizing perfectly from start to finish, not to mention the emotion that goes with Kakashi knowing that's his last effort to provide some sort of advantage to the leaf. IMO: One of the best scenes with a sharingan ability, imagine if this was animated by the A+ animation team.

Nah, when he fought Kaguya, he used Obito's chakra which had half Hashirama's-cell-body. So Kakashi's DMS was modulated by that advantage. And when he used during Naruto-B-Guy-Kakashi vs Obito, he could spam and even transport Hachibi because he had Kurama's chakra that Naruto gave. Normally, if he used his own Chakra, he would die like when he used against Pain.
I loved the way Kamui was treated in the pain fight, the way the screen turns red and black then folds away almost like the red and black was the Kamui dimension. Obviously it's not considering we actually see the Kamui dimension in Kakashi vs Obito but it's still sick
I don't think he would have because the vision of a wielder of mangekyo sharingan probably weakens only through the overuse of the susano'o and not the overuse of the eyes themselves

Kamui is (in my opinion) the best MS ability, not only avoiding almost all types of attacks, having your own dimension, but because you can use it on items and ninjutsu! This can be seen in the last fight against Kaguya when Kakashi creates Kamui Shurikens and immediately after, uses Kamui raikiri. That makes me think you can use Kamui in basically everything, really and OP ability if you have both eyes
Honestly, this is one of the main reasons why kakashi didnt go blind from the mangekyo, he barely used it. The man only started using it ONCE in the start of shippuden and then used it more in the pain saga, and used it way more during the 4th war. Also i think you cant go blind from borrowed sharingans. And i also think the kamui one cant make you blind so..
You don't go blind from the normal sharingan. You only go blind when abusing the Mangekyo sharingan, unless you have the eternal version from implanting another Uchiha's eyes. This has happened to Itachi, Sasuke, and Kakashi. The reason it never happens to Obito is likely due to the Hashirama cells.

Yeah, less so due to him not wanting to and more that it's an ability that isn't really that helpful when considering the drawbacks. He loses a shit ton of chakra every time he uses it and it's a dojutsu that requires ridiculous precision, making it awful for use since every single time he uses it, it loses it's effectiveness. I doubt outside of it's initial activation and him learning of it's ability, Kakashi probably never used Kamui until his fights in shippuden, for him using the more generic, multi purpose Sharingan fit his billing much better. Kamui is the ace in the hole but his epiphet is Copy Ninja not 'delete shit ninja'.

I think knowledge about Kamui (and other MS jutsu) is archived in Konoha's Library. Idk if you would consider Boruto series is canon, but there was a scene when Sarada did research about Sharingan in the library and she obtained much information including the MS. The library itself, in my opinion, had obtained many collections about history of Sharingan from the Uchiha clan. When the first ninja war was erupted, it mentioned that is so many Uchihas had MS, even Izanagi, before the clan forbid to use it. So, probably Kamui user, at all time, is not Kakashi and Obito only, and had discovered by old Uchiha member. So then, he (the discoverer of Kamui) named it 'Kamui'. And I think this theory also applies to how other MS jutsu named. Since it was discovered long ago, I'm pretty sure Uchiha clan kept records about types of MS jutsu and then they submitted to Konoha Library when the village is established. So that's why Kakashi knew the name of the jutsu. He simply did a research in the library (with a permission from Hokage for sure, since I think such collections would be considered top secret). So why did Obito also know? I think because he just heard the jutsu's name from Kakashi when Kakashi tried to do the jutsu to him (Sasuke vs Danzo aftermath) and he believe that is the actual name because for him Kakashi did the research.
Because Kakashi can't do that simple as that. Obito is much more skilled at kamui because its his rightful power unlike Kakashi who is only borrowing it.

I think Kotoamatsukami is the best because Shisui can use it anytime. People often forget that the 10 years cooldown time was for Itachi, not Shisui.

Kamui is (in my opinion) the best MS ability, not only avoiding almost all types of attacks, having your own dimension, but because you can use it on items and ninjutsu! This can be seen in the last fight against Kaguya when Kakashi creates Kamui Shurikens and immediately after, uses Kamui raikiri. That makes me think you can use Kamui in basically everything, really and OP ability if you have both eyes

Honestly, this is one of the main reasons why kakashi didnt go blind from the mangekyo, he barely used it. The man only started using it ONCE in the start of shippuden and then used it more in the pain saga, and used it way more during the 4th war. Also i think you cant go blind from borrowed sharingans. And i also think the kamui one cant make you blind so..
You don't go blind from the normal sharingan. You only go blind when abusing the Mangekyo sharingan, unless you have the eternal version from implanting another Uchiha's eyes. This has happened to Itachi, Sasuke, and Kakashi. The reason it never happens to Obito is likely due to the Hashirama cells.

Yeah, less so due to him not wanting to and more that it's an ability that isn't really that helpful when considering the drawbacks. He loses a shit ton of chakra every time he uses it and it's a dojutsu that requires ridiculous precision, making it awful for use since every single time he uses it, it loses it's effectiveness.
I doubt outside of it's initial activation and him learning of it's ability, Kakashi probably never used Kamui until his fights in shippuden, for him using the more generic, multi purpose Sharingan fit his billing much better. Kamui is the ace in the hole but his epiphet is Copy Ninja not 'delete shit ninja'.

@Crimson19977 exactly Kakashi did not have the uchiha blood to utilise the full power of kamui and in general stronger the abilities bigger their cooldown period is similarly if obito was normal then he himself could only have used it 3-4 times max

I think knowledge about Kamui (and other MS jutsu) is archived in Konoha's Library. Idk if you would consider Boruto series is canon, but there was a scene when Sarada did research about Sharingan in the library and she obtained much information including the MS.
The library itself, in my opinion, had obtained many collections about history of Sharingan from the Uchiha clan. When the first ninja war was erupted, it mentioned that is so many Uchihas had MS, even Izanagi, before the clan forbid to use it. So, probably Kamui user, at all time, is not Kakashi and Obito only, and had discovered by old Uchiha member. So then, he (the discoverer of Kamui) named it 'Kamui'. And I think this theory also applies to how other MS jutsu named.
Since it was discovered long ago, I'm pretty sure Uchiha clan kept records about types of MS jutsu and then they submitted to Konoha Library when the village is established.
So that's why Kakashi knew the name of the jutsu. He simply did a research in the library (with a permission from Hokage for sure, since I think such collections would be considered top secret).
So why did Obito also know? I think because he just heard the jutsu's name from Kakashi when Kakashi tried to do the jutsu to him (Sasuke vs Danzo aftermath) and he believe that is the actual name because for him Kakashi did the research.

the same way how itachi learnt about amaterasu.Those techniques probably weren't unique but instead passed down through uchicha lineage through history. And since the leaf already has info on uchihas they probably found it out.
