For Kimono/Yukata, the Left-side always comes on the outside. This is true for all Japanese clothing including Judo, Kendo, or Karate. The only time Japanese wear the Right-side on the outside is for funerals. (The dead are clothed that way too.)

When summer comes, I remember the Gion Festival and this upload. Seems so hot and humid in Kyoto in July. Unfortunately due to the global pandemic this year, I heard that the festival was canceled in 2020. Hope that you will be able to go back to Japan for more adventure in the future and that you are keeping safe. By the bye, you look very pretty in that yukata! 💙

1:01 Do you know that the picture in the tapestry is a scene from the Bible, Genesis 24, Issac and Rebekah?
The women to the left is Rebekah; the man on horse at the back is Issac; and the man receiving water from Rebecca in the middle is Issac's servant, Eliezer.
The Gion Festival is one of the oldest festival in Japan, and the existence of this picture is a big mystery.

    Nice video as always!
Also I want to appreciate the fact that you used the proper traditional Japanese music in the montage part instead of Chinese-ish one which is common mistake for the westerners👍

Lots of info on the similarities between japan and israel, including the Emperor/royal family and a possible origin of the word "Nippon" for Japan

It is known that ancient cars attracted by a large number of people at the Kyoto Gion Festival parade are adorned with carpets designing Old Testament episodes.

What is well known to those who study the relationship between Kyoto and ancient Israel is the hypothesis that Ten Lost Tribes might have traveled east to Japan.

just some history on kyoto and the origin of the festival
    祇園祭 (during july )
The Gion Festival began in the prayer that any pestilence might not occur among the nation.
This was the same as the Israeli king Solomon who began festival (in the 7th month (15th day), feast of tabernacles) in Jerusalem just after the completion of the Holy Temple construction, with his prayer that any pestilence might not occur among the nation.
    1st Kings chapter 8 vs 37
Kyoto used to be called 平安京 (Heian-kyo) 平安 means peace. 京 is capital which is where Kyoto comes from, It was the capital of japan for a very long time. Jerusalem also means city of peace in Hebrew, and Jerusalem is also the capitol of israel.
Gion Fesitival is hosted by Yasaka-jinja shrine
Yasaka came from the Hebrew-Aramaic word Yah-sakka, meaning faith in God.
A very long time ago Israelites migrated to japan and landed in Kyoto and shared their hebrew culture, which is likely why they are so similar.

Uhm, what?! Or as Wikipedia would say: Citation needed! Ah, here we go: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese-Jewish_common_ancestry_theory "The Japanese-Jewish common ancestor theory has been seen as one of the attempts by European racial scientists to explain Japan's rapid modernization, in contrast to that of the other "inferior" or "degraded" Asians, especially the Chinese. The theory itself, however, was taken in different directions. "
