I use to watch Sammy Terry every Friday night. It was one of the things I looked forward to all week long as a kid!
Not only was I allowed to stay up late, I got to watch Sammy. I watched him until my parents finally got cable and in doing so, we no longer had access to WTTV (I'm from northwest Ohio). I was crushed when I lost my favorite Friday night spook show.
Seeing this truly made my heart smile. I'm so happy he got this recognition. He truly deserved it.
I was all smiles, until he came back up to the mic for that last laugh, and it hit me right in the feels. Half a century old and I'm sitting here at my desk, with tears rolling down and a smile on my face.
Bless you and rest well, Mr. Carter. You and your legacy are very much loved and missed.

"It's the voodoos, I tell ya"! I'm from Southern California and our local horror host Sinister Seymour used to show this movie in the early 1970s. Seymour was the host of "Fright Night" on KHJ Channel 9 , Los Angeles. It's too bad he died of stomach cancer in 1975. He was a hoosier from your state google his name, Larry Vincent. You guys were lucky to have Sammy Terry for so many years. I've seen videos of Sammy Terry on youtube. Unforunately for Seymour fans Channel 9, Los Angeles taped over Seymour's programs. Seymour's fans (fringies) recorded snatches of Seymour's dialouge on cassette tapes. We also have pics posted of Seymour in his youtube videos. Please check out.
