You have delivered the most impressive and most pleasing version of the moonlight sonata. I have kept replaying the video hundreds of times, especially the ending. The ending is so pleasing to the ear.
I loved everything about this performance--I came here because I first stumbled on your rendition of Debussy's Arabesque No. 1 and it was so beautiful and poignant I cried. I could hear every note so clearly, and I have a new appreciation for my favorite movement of the Moonlight Sonata.
First of all this is a spectacular performance! Thus, this is perfect for a model reference of the song since the camera angle is placed well that I can see both the hands and the wrists. More important than that is your ability to demonstrate the expression into the song, so thank you very much for posting this. I really hope I can perfect this song before my concert next March.
Wonderful!!! . I give up piano when I was young due the family financial status.but I did not give up music. I try to learn flute by myself and just learn some simple and small classical song. It give me much joy in music as well. I still have some few Piano music sheet from when I was young. . You play so nice and wonderful.- Greeting from Chiang Mai, Thailand - Khun Ray.
Welp I guess its official, you are a master piano player. I have always heard from my piano teachers that this song is the measuring point of a great pianist and you sir nailed it.
I have tried, but I just cant get this movement down. And you do it so effortlessly and expressively. I would love to see you in concert performing this.
I am learning this piece at the movement. Love your energy. You even put the piano out of tune with the intensity of your playing; probably those sF chords! Fascinating to see your use of pedal, often tapping instead of just holding down. I will need to copy this because just holding the sustain pedal down leads to an overwhelming confused sound. Thank you for sharing.
I ve been listening to this particular piece in probably a hundred versions, but every time I want to come back to listen to it, I chose this version which in my opinion is the best so far. Also i would give credit to master Barenboim, V. Lisita and Arrau.
@@RickerChoi Your Most welcome,I myself as a pianist know the amount of hardship and training mastering piano requires..The 3rd movement is not easy at all but you were able to get it!!👏👏
@@RickerChoi Oh wow, they are so still haha! Do you have any tips for nailing jumps? I am familiar with the notes and reading rhythms but I sometimes miss jumps of more than a fourth when playing, Also, is there a practice routine you follow? Thanks!
Amazing performance! This is by far my favourite, because very few pianists actually play beginning piano as it's written in sheets, and your sforzando with that kind of resonance is very unique! May I know what fingering do you use in 10th bar - around 0:13? I can't get that part down with fingering in my sheet music that goes every upper gis with 5th finger and on the highest "not upper tone" key, which is fis goes with 3rd finger, so in my sheet music it's like this: fis (3), gis (5)x, e (1), gis (5), dis (3), gis (5), cis (2),... Where I marked "x" I miss that key (or play very quiet) when playing fast tempowith this fingering, because of how close my 3rd and 5th finger have to get to play fis (3) and gis (5) in combination with then going down with 1st on e. I tried this fingering: fis (3), gis (5)x, e (2), gis (5), dis (1), gis (5), cis (1) and it is little better, but not still not feeling right (I play e(2) too quiet and sometimes miss it). So I was wondering, what fingering do you use? Thank you!
o hey thank you so much! it is quite confusing what you referring to with fis, gis, e etc.. may be you can email me ricker.choi@yahoo.ca with fingering written on the piano score?
I'm surprised at the interpretation, at first I thought he was insane but then I realised he was just trying to replicate his idea of beethoven making this song

Valentina Lisitsa made the best one :) I'm not sure if Beethoven himself could play this piece better than her! Haha
omg i know right! no one ever talks about the last few measures, but in my opinion, they're so emotional and dramatic
