The best part of ghostface throughout the whole series was despite all the crazy horror movie stuff, he wasn't a supernatural undead mutant, an alien, a embodiment of pure evil, he was just a guy, a guy who was a little too into horror movies for the wrong reasons.

Honestly ghostface's clumsiness and humane nature is what makes him scary. He doesn't move like Michael and Jason because it's usually just a normal person in that costume. The movie wants you to think that it could just be your best friend dressed in this costume with a knife and you'd have no idea. That's why scream is amazing

Even if Ghostface is always a human, I think that his abilities are not always so realistic. He’s capable of disappearing in a few seconds in every situation, he’s really skilled actually if you think about it. I’m not obviously saying that he is like other horror characters like Jason or Michael, but a lot of his moves are really op for a “normal” person.

There are a lot of scenes in the movies where Ghostface disappears without no effort or even where Ghostface fakes to attack the other killer. Still, he manages to escape every time and he’s really, really stealthy for a normal human. I wasn’t talking about being able to be in different places in once, I was talking about Ghostface being able to escape when he kills someone without being seen, and with other stealthy abilities that are not so normal.
I hope the new Movie keeps the "Human-like" Ghostface who also makes mistakes at some point and not just a unstoppable killing machine like Michael Myers or Jason. Thats what made the Movies so iconic.

Sadly, as the series went on, they added more comedy to it due to fears of Columbine and studio meddling, but it is true. It makes you wonder why the victims just don't pick something up and beat him to death when he falls during these chase scenes. The first movie wasn't too bad...one could also argue that the phone calls are to make his victims more scared so they don't fight back I guess, too.

Scream's humour is fantastic, but I've always found its frantic chase scenes to be genuinely scary as well. Sure, Ghostface might be tripping and crashing into stuff like an idiot but dude gets right up and keeps full on sprinting at you with a knife. Michael Myers is like the surreal fear of a nightmare where the killer is pursuing you slowly but you can't seem to get away, yet the panic and chaos of a Ghostface chase scene to me is somehow even scarier.
Reminds me of a spooky Reddit thread a while back where someone asked, "what's scarier than waking up in the middle of the night and hearing soft footsteps slowly approaching your bedroom door?" And the top answer was, "waking up in the middle of the night and hearing pounding footsteps _running_ towards your bedroom door."
Scream and ghostface scares me most for the sheer fact that *it literally could happen at any given moment*

I always loved how these scenes always made it obvious that Ghostface is just someone behind a mask. Not a supernatural entity built for nothing else but killing. He's a murderous human who is way too clumsy for his own good.

One of my favorite aspects of Ghostface is how human they are. Throughout each movie (especially the first) we see characters fight back and it makes Ghostface feel beatable. I think that’s what makes it all the more terrifying when the victim is ultimately killed and so satisfying when characters like Sidney prevail. It’s never a hopeless fight so it allows the viewer to root for the victim and momentarily forget that that’s not how it works in horror movies.
It’s also really funny watching Ghostface get smacked around

That's the point, the movie is trying to show how people are so confident and smart when they're watching the movies but when the time comes and it happens to you, you're way to stressed and scared to actually make smart decisions.

Theres probably like over 15 stuntmen who played ghostface in the series so props to them .
One of the reasons I love Screm and Ghostface is how ”real” they made the killer, it’s just people in a costume.

The point of the franchise is to be more realistic than other slashers of the time. You had Michael and Jason walking around as invincible killing machines, slow walking and still catching their victim, and freddy running around in peoples dreams. Ghost Face is supposed to just be a normal guy like the rest of us. capable of being clumsy and chaotic. its what makes the films so scary to begin with, the feeling of will the victim get away because they both tripped or not.
Considering he literally trips on stairs because of his own costume, yup :)

We all laugh now but we forget Ghostface always happens to be insatiably smart. His legacy has orchestrated several murders, learned to make friends with the floor, predict the main characters every move when not in appearance, and gain a expert use of technology and weapons.
One of the First serial killer to actually use practical methods of murder instead of just blind rampages. he doesn’t have superhuman strength or inhuman resistance. All he has is his mind. Which he uses proficiently and that’s what makes him so scary. The fact that this man plans and enacts your murder is kindof terrifying. Also unlike most killers ghostface actually runs at you when caught. He’s not some dark impending doom. he’s a psychotic person in a suit who is desperate to kill you.
But don’t let all that distract from the fact that he is a terrible track runner…😂😂😂
He's also like seven different people at this point, thanks to all those damn murdery teenagers that steal his face

@@acesmith3859 Michael Myers and Jason are basically immortal. Chucky is a haunted doll. Freddy Krueger haunts peoples' dreams. Ghostface is just some creepy/awkward dude in a cheap ghost costume with a hunting knife. Being normal is what makes him special.

This is why ghostface is one of my favorite slashers, he’s literally just a normal dude and the way he moves and falls over so many times reflects that. It makes it a lot more fun to watch him in action

Ghostface is so iconic. What’s not to like about each one? First it was Billy and Stu. Billy had a motive, Stu joined. Then you have Mickey and Debbie Loomis. Debbie had her motive as Sidney killed her son. Mickey was in it for the trial. Then we have Roman. He built Ghostface from the start. His motive? Easy. Kill Maureen and Sidney. Next, you have Jill and Charlie. Jill’s motive? Simple. Jealous of Sidney. Charlie? In for god knows what. Then, we have Amber and Richie. Amber was a crazed Ghostface fan and Richie…? I don’t know his motive. And finally, you have Quinn, Ethan and the detective. Quinn and Ethan’s motives where to get revenge on Sam. Sam killed their brother, Richie. The detective? Idk his motive yet. These Ghostface’s are not only iconic but you don’t know if it’s your best friend, lover, sibling or even a family member. You really don’t know. It teaches you that people can really backstab you. Be aware kids, this stuff happens all the time.
And the most iconic thing about Ghostface is that they’re a real person. It shows you that hey don’t trust strangers and that keep an eye open. Ghostface trips and is clumsy, cuz he’s a person. They’re not Jason or Michael Myers

It makes him more realistic because he just smart and sneaky humans. Jason is undead, Myers is immortal, Freddy is a literal dream demon, and Pinhead is a supernatural being. Ghost face is just a human wearing a mask, no buffs or anything

ghost face is easily my favorite killer, considering he wasn't written as some invulnerable God of death. instead he's just a serial killer who's a bit derpy, and I love that.
This is kind of what makes Ghostface unique to other slasher killers, like Michael Myers and Jason. You don't know who is behind the mask, it's somebody different every movie, and it could be absolutely anyone. That's what makes Ghostface so scary
