  • This episode marks 3 years of our full time adventure travels and storytelling. I couldn't think of a better place to celebrate this milestone than the land where it all started; Alaska!
A huge thanks goes out to Craig and Brook with Alaska Overlander (and long time patrons!) for lending us one of their rental rigs for the continuation of our north country exploration.
    Go see Alaska: alaskaoverlande...
Speaking of which, in this episode we FINALLY make it all the way to Roosevelt Lake and are rewarded with one of the most beautiful and memorable evenings of all time.
We hope you enjoy this first of several stories from our revisit to the Land of the Midnight Sun!

Alaska has a magic you won't find anywhere. I lived there for 36 yrs and even though I'm away right now when ever I go back to visit friends and family it's like going home.
Great job folks on the video

I lived in Alaska in the 80's for over five years. Now, Finally, I'll be going back for the first time next spring to spend at least five months. I can't wait for the adventure to begin.

It has changed a bunch. I have live just north of Wasilla for over 40 years and traffic and crime is bad compared to the 80s. Heck, the Mat Su had less than 20,000 people then and has close to 100,000 people now.

That's so awesome! Tell him we loved it! The tackle box was crushed and everything was scattered when we found it. Cleaned up all the lures, put it all in the boat and left the plug out so it could drain in case of rain. All ready for the next folks. (I think we were the first to use it this year, it hadn't been moved in a long time).

The state is broke and quit funding ads for tourism. Let the tour operators pay for something that benefits them. Tourists cost the state money with rescues and accidents and the state having no sales or income tax lose money.

We rented the “Nanook” from Craig and Brooke with Alaska Overlander the same week Lifestyle Overland was in their “Denali”. It was the most amazing trip! Definitely recommend booking with them, they were amazing and their vehicles have everything you need! We didn’t spend a single night in a campground, we were mainly South in the Kenai Peninsula somewhere different every night, lakes with amazing views!!! We are planning to go back some day and add Denali, Valdez and more for the next trip, will definitely plan more than a week next time! Great video Lifestyle Overland!!!

Great video, great idea. Recognized the parking lot in Anchorage. The rail road station is close by. When we were there the power was out in the hotel and we could see the lights in the rest of downtown Anchorage.
