The music you used during the Alta quarry Aurora Borealis sighting was a superb choice!
@@MrPortavogie That’s very kind, thank you! Our Antarctica series with Seabourn, I’m not sure if you’ve seen it, has the same musical accompaniment that makes you feel like you’re actually there.
Thank you again for the kind words ☺️
Again, Norway is so beautiful. Great Job capturing the Northern lights and braving the cold. The Northern Light cathedral is so beautiful from the outside.
Another beautiful video
Thank you, Arthur! The lights were the highlight of course, but the wolves in ep4…. I’m torn- and favor that experience a bit more.
You must be thrilled with your Northern Lights images. They are beautiful.
Thank you, Julie- we are. It was really lovely there!
We are so glad the northern lights decided to dance across the skies for you during your visit. The Northern Lights Cathedral is a beautiful piece of architecture, we would have loved to hear that pipe organ.
Thank you- the lights were great! True about the organ; it would have been nice if someone played it!

Wonderful video, really enjoyed the photos of the Northern Lights, but, minus 8 F is really cold, glad you had the fire and the little buildings to go into.
Thanks Lou. It’s was so coooooold there.
We've just found your channel, have missed traveling during this pandemic--and have really enjoyed your Northern Lights series ( and even better for us, we are Viking cruise fans,as well). Your photography, voice overs, editing etc... is excellent! ( my husband is very picky and immediately told me to subscribe, which I did) We look forward to exploring more of your channel!
Hi Kathe,
Thank you, that’s very kind indeed! Far from sensational, I try very hard to concentrate on culture and cinematography, and I’m really glad that you appreciate it!
I’ve always thought your husband was an excellent judge of character 😂
Feel free to ask any questions, about cruising or editing. Cheers!
WOW the lights are amazing, I know we won't see them in June but fingers crossed. Loved the Churches very nice to see the old and new being used.
Thank you, Nick 😊😊
What spectacular scenery, we do love a cold cruise! So glad the lights appeared for you, it is a pretty special moment! Alta looks stunning hope to get there one day!
Thank you. Alta was amazing! We had a lovely time there- the dogs in Tromso were the best!
Another awesome video! Seeing the Northern Lights in person must be spectacular! The background music you selected was perfect for this video. Thanks for letting us all tag along!
Thank you! Glad you liked the music along with it- something I try to add to videos to help tell the story.
What time did you get back to the ship (from viewing the lights). Does the port stay open all night?
Great videos!
Thank you, John! About 12.30 am (I just looked at the time stamp of my pics/film). This was Alta where we went to Paeskatun, and we were there on an overnight I think, so the port was, per se - open :)
Thanks for watching and taking time to comment!
Found you chanel as I am starting to research on taking a Northern Lights cruise. I am guessing the excursions you took were upgraded and not the included ones. Please let me know the approximate cost. I realize they probably have increased after a couple of years.
Hi Shari,
That cruise was Feb 2022, and I don’t remember the pricing, but the ‘really cool’ ones, for us- the Sami tent and the sled dogs- about $129 as I recall.
Regarding cost, I can tell you that we came away from each one in this itinerary feeling it was very much worth it!
Feel free to comment/ask questions about the itinerary and what you see in the episodes and ship and room tours.
Thanks for leaving a comment 😊
We've just booked the 1/19/23 NLC with Viking, partially due to your videos. We've never sailed with Viking, only big ships. Were your excursions by Viking? Any other recommendations for us?
Hi Judith,
Thanks for watching, and taking time to comment 😊
All our excursions once we boarded were with Viking. The bits in Bergen in Episode 1 were self-touring.
We made the choice to do tours with Viking as, given the weather and being absolute rubbish in the Norwegian language, we wanted Viking to take care of it all- and tbh, gosh! Those excursions were so well-crafted that we didn’t feel it necessary to do the research ourselves (most cruises, we do our own tours).
As to recommendations- sledding with the huskies, the Sami cultural experience and the visit to Paeskatun for the NL camp lights watching are tops. Basically, copy everything we did, lol.
Have a wonderful time!
I noticed that the lights at the slate quarry were white lights. Not very good planning because the white lights destroy your night vision. They should be red.
Perhaps you are correct. Thank you for watching.
