My German kein gut ist. So, in English; Thank you Hans. It was once upon a time my desire to metal detect in the Germanic lands. Sadly, with advancing years and increasing world turmoil I've had to give up on those plans. Your gentle explanation of Germanic archeology, anthropology, history and topography have allowed me to partially satisfy that dream vicariously. Danke mein freund.
Hello, Hans. What a beautiful autumn location you had. It gave me joy to see the joy on your face when you found the bell. The pendant you found is probably a souvenir charm from a charm bracelet. They have a habit of falling off the bracelet. If we don't see you again until next year, I hope you and those close to you have a blessed Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year.
hello malinda, I'm happy to hear you enjoyed my video and that you like the finds. thank you for watching and for sharing your thoughts about the silver. I also wish you and yours a merry christmas and a happy new year :)
Beautiful video, Hans…..so much GOLD!!! ( the leaves! ). The little owl object has an art deco feel to it. I wonder if it might have come off a ladies hat pin…they often had a pin that came out the center of the back. The buckle and bell were soooo beautiful! I love that you don’t clean the finds in the field but wait till you can do it properly. It makes the reveal shots very enjoyable as we can now see ALL the details and surprises, such as the beautiful filigree pattern on the buckle! The finds accumulating on the sides of the path must be indicating where people stepped to the side to take a break…perhaps to put on or remove a jacket, to have some food, or just to stop to let others traveling faster, go past. If those trees could talk! Thank you for making these beautifully artistic videos. The are the highest quality! Cheers from the Adirondack mountains in America. ❤
hello my friend and thank you for your kind comment. I'm glad you like my video and the finds :) I think the owl could be part of a cufflink. i only came up with this possibility after I uploaded the video already :D thank you for your support and greetings from germany!
Hello Hans, good to see you again on what must be, "the footpath of long lost treasures", for me the little bell is a jem find. Lovely, relaxing viewing as ever Hans. I love the bell - I guess it's more like a tiny cowbell, than a crotal bell... 🤔 Perhaps old cattle/animalmbells were different in Germany?... Thanks again my friend... Bobby 🙏🏻
thank you my friend, I'm happy to hear that. It's definitely not a crotal bell as they are spherical. It's either an animal bell a coach bell or a sleigh bell. thank you for watching and for your kind comment!

Always worth the wait for another one of your beautifully shot videos Hans... TerraGermania definitely stands out as the best quality detecting videos on the web. So nice to see the path in another season with those vibrant colours all around, truly magical. Also the fungi are fascinating. My favourite find was the handcrafted buckle: I try to imagine a craftsman sculpting those ornate details 400-600 years ago; and the well dressed person who must have been so frustrated at losing such a piece. We also hope the ancient path will be never ending for you. Always looking forward to your next day out!

The pendant is part of a so called Bettelarmband / Beggar’s bracelet. You could buy these at some points of interest, tourist shops. Mostly famous sights or coat of arms are displayed. The Bettelarmband was especially nice if you already have visited lots of places and the chain was loaded, maybe adding little silver ornaments like figurines of animals too. I always begged my parents to buy me an ornament whenever we were on a sight seeing tour :-) It was a childhood thingy during the 1960ish times. You could trade ornaments with your friends. Wonder where it went. At some point I lost interest.

Vielen Dank :) Schönen Sonntag noch :)
Hans! We love your videos!
At some point I lost interest.
thank you very much for watching and for your helpful comment. I appreciate your support :)
The autumn weather is beautiful there Hans
