Gonna be 70 degrees here today. Just doused myself in Acqua Di Gio Pour Homme. Been wearing this since ‘99 and still love it.

Me too. Try Geàu version of Acqua Di Gio. It's a box at Walmart. I didn't believe it either, but it smells exactly like Acqua Di Gio. I like to layer it with Profumo.
Sprayed a sample of this on my wrist today and wasnt too impressed, a couple hours later I kept getting whiffs and that dry down is fantastic. Very nice

I love it, got it as a gift from my gf. Last year she got me my favorite Aqua di Gio, and this year Aqua di Gio EDP is absolutely delicious.
Gotta say, fantastic recommendation… Picked me up a bottle and it’s awesome, it lasts forever, it just keeps projecting and changes nicely on the dry-down! Absolutely love it 👍

Bought my first ever bottle of ADG last year. I started with Profumo but quickly had to get the original to see where it all started. I am absolutely in love with this line so far. Planning on picking up as many from the line as I can. Excellent video sir.

Just picked this up I love the new EDP version really lasts a long time while retaining most of the original DNA smells like the original with enhanced longevity and a extra fresh kick.
My fave is Acqua di Giò Absolu, although I know not many will like it, as it's a bit heavy. I do enjoy Profundo very much, though. I see Profundo for my spring and summer scent.

@@desertdetroiter428 Likewise, I agree, it's all about the money, but, as a fragrance connoisseur, if it's originality I'm after, that's usually when I go dive into the Indie, and Niche houses, lot's of fragrances that smell like none other....
The OG was my jam back in the days, and I still rock it. I need to get my nose on the EDP, but be cautious not to buy into the hype. Ash was perspiring with excitement lol.
Growing up when Aqua Di Gio was hot, I loved it, but never thought it was worth it because the Armani price tag and overwhelming popularity.
However, I am interested in this modern take, and the fact that the patchouli is clean and not hippie-ish makes me more interested. 👍

I have to disagree with you on the performance and silage. I'm lucked to get 5 hours from my bottle and it turn to a skin scent about an hour and a half in. Are you sure you are not sponsored by Giorgio Armani lol?

Never seen Ash this excited 🤣. Agree with you I'm taking this one with a grain of salt since most reviews I seen weeks ago from overseas all were a let down especially when it came to performance. I was hoping this was similar to Essenza, but negative. Be interesting to see the feedback like yours once other subscribers pick it up and chim in.

Sprayed it on the back of my hand last Friday. It’s Monday morning and I still get a light whiff of it. It’s is more citrusy and better than the original.

I just received a small bottle of this new EDP and I have no idea why you’re so excited about this one.
Because they didn’t give it s special name (like essenza, Profondo, Profumo) and they actually called it AQUA DI GIO EDP - I was expecting something very similar to the original, with minor changes and better longevity and performance. (like Chanel, Dior and other top brands do when they take an EDT and makes an EDP), and for me there is no similarity to the ADG line and they should have give it a different name as the other flankers and not confuse the customers, but this is only my own opinion
This EDP immediately reminded me something else, I think maybe Creed Aventus (cologne and NOT the original) or Hermes or even Carven.
Once it dries down, the vetiver or the orange mandarin (or whatever it is) is very strong. I’m disappointed.
I have not tried it, but guys who really had already tried, they said same things like you
Just got a bottle of the EDP and yeah my initial take is that it is not a stronger EDT. I also find it hard to detect any similarity to the original EDT. What stands out to me is the geranium and woodiness from the patchouli and vetiver. Will have to see how I feel about this over time and in hotter weather. Have only sampled Profundo and have not used Profumo in a while but I feel those two flankers have more of an original ADG feel then this one.
Same thing. Smelled like something familiar (green Irish tweed) and then went to meh.
Underrated comment. Tried this in Macy's... didn't last long didn't smell like adg. What you said is correct.

I tested this today! It smells great. The only issue for me is the performance isn’t great in terms of longevity. Can’t wait to test it in the heat of summer.

I like your reviews a lot man. I recently got into Profumo but realized it’s discontinued although I can still buy on their website. Is EDP close to perfumo? Better? I’ve been in the search for my perfect scent.
I didn't expect this to smell like the 90's version- the elephant in the room- IS IT LIKE ESSENZA!?!? Need a side by side as Essenza was the original edp.
...also curious how this compares to Bentley Silverlake.🤔
To me it opens up with Essenza vibes and the dry down gives profundo vibes .. love it

Thank you for your review I have been waiting for your review for awhile ever since January. Thank you for giving your honest review and I love the Acqua di gio Line I love profondo. But this one catches my interest because I’ve never smelled essenza and I heard it smells very similar towards it. But many people are annoyed that It doesn’t lol but I can’t wait to buy it.

I'd really like to see ADG go down a dark, woody, smoky path thats more suited for winter. Similar to what Dior did with the new Sauvage elixir
Absolu Instinct can get you close to that.
Profumo Special Blend, that's the one you need, darker version of Profumo. It's a fantastic dark aquatic, woody and not aromatic aquatic as regular Profumo. Absolu Instinct could work too, cause of ebony wood, but the darkest ADG in the whole line is Profumo Special Blend, in my opinion.

Looking forward to this new flanker! The original ADG was my signature scent freshman year of high school. I used to love it 🔥 then Profumo came out and til this day still love Profumo. Profondo was underwhelming for me, not really a fan. Profondo Lights is nice👌🏽 and Absolu smells basic but Absolu Instinct is really nice 👍🏽

I'm going to buy this one too! I just got Georgio Armani Colonia for $93 for a 200ml. Put money aside for the edp version. I have a 1/3 left of essenza from a 4.2oz bottle. Tomorrow I'm wearing Paris Hilton Just Me tomorrow which is better than the edt in price and performance

Hopefully in the air, this comes off uniquely different from the original EDT (as you allude to). I wore the EDT heavily back in the day as well, but have to say the original now smells dated to me. Thanks.
They changed the original several times. It's much weaker now than it was 20 years ago. Sadly.

I always thought ADG Profumo was the EDP version of the OG ADG.

Only ever owned hugo man and profundo, now I’m looking for a winter fragrance, something that might cover the smell of cigarettes, work in a professional setting, and still work when I go clubbing. I was thinking Prada Luna Rossa Black but I’m open to suggestions.

Gio edp vs amani profumo which one the best?
Purchased today as a blind buy.
I’m a fan of the OG, Profumo and profundo (of which my bottle is near empty); I’m also a fan of H24, which you were not, Ash. Clary Sage, mineralic and floral…curious how much H24 DNA comes across.
Been sniffing this for a few days now...and if people deny that this is ADG, layered on top of an H24 style frag, they're in, well, denial.
The sage/floral metallics, the sage/metallics specifically, have the same vibe as H24 but more subdued; H24 is a bit (alot) sweeter on the floral with more sillage....having both the OG ADG and H24, and if you have both, I suggest you try this: layer them. What you get is a stronger smelling ADG EDP (the EDP is by far the weakest projecting batch in the line) on the sweet side.
I can't say I like it over Profondo, let alone H24, but since my Profundo is near death and no ADG EDT on hand, I'll overspray (which is needed) until the bottle is gone. Speaking of bottle...compare it to the H24 bottle and juice color...
Overall, big disappointment compared to prior flankers (and at full price to boot).
Feels like this is a case of "I love ADG" so I love this...even tho the H24 influence is being ignored....floral....clary sage...metallic notes...I mean....that's the entirely of H24 right there. YMMV.

How did you get this?!?!
I didn't much like it at first, AdG EdT with an Ambroxan aftertaste/drydown and not really much more long-lasting than the EdT, but using it more I've come around a lot - my girlfriend loving it did help a lot though. Still, Profumo (which is _not_ disconintued, at least in Europe, new bottles have been made in 2022 and are widely available) will stay my prefered one from the line (my GF does love that one even more), with EdT a close second and then the EdP. Didn't much care for Prodondo or Profondo Lights tbh.
Profumo is still available in the US! I just picked one up from Macys, although the bottles are smaller. You only have one option nowadays. Before I had the bigger bottle. Now you can only get the 2.5 I believe

Weird how you probably enjoyed more youthful scents only a few years ago. Time flies!
Perhaps this is why they are terminating Profumo.. 🤔 To me, Profumo smells like a slightly beefed up version of Essenza. (I have both)
Is it any better or brighter than Profumo? Maybe it's a mix of these two?

At 1:33 there's more than just "the ingredient information". There's the all important FIL (Fragance Ingredients List) formula code found on all boxes that L'Oreal produces. For this one it's FIL #N284240/1. That's how you can easily tell future reformulations. While you don't mention it, at least you provide a clear image of it. That batch code of 38U003T indicates it was manufactured in Oct. 2021.
@@ItDoesntMATTERwhatYourNameIS Thanks. Before I started mentioning it in Facebook groups and in comments to these videos 5+ years ago, no one seemed to realize it. Dior and the rest of the L'Oreal produced fragrances all have formula codes in addition to batch codes. Either the YT reviewers are stubborn and won't mention it, or they're clueless. If f they had been mentioning formula codes for the last decade, we would have known what's been reformulated and when.
