@Greg Yaesu Good luck man. Have you tried track yet? You go to any DMV on non office hours and try it. It's hard on big bikes. I recommend bringing a small one.
The California test looks so easy and relaxed. In the UK we have to take a theory test, a mod-1 test, which is off-road testing clutch control, manoeuvre at low and medium speed and the a mod-2 on-road test for 30 minutes. You have to pass in that order otherwise you can’t take the next section.
That's how it should be, USA motorcycle license is a joke and gets people killed. When I took my test everyone but me was on a scooter and was able to get a M license.
Exactly the same in Netherlands lol. I envy this guy. The amount of money it took me to get both tests done. I should’ve just gotten the american license after 10-20 hours of experience lmfao
In Colombia, I had to take theory classes and a theory test (60 questions out of a bank of 1,400 questions), I had 8 hours of practical classes (how to change a tire, adjust carburator, adjust chain...), 20 hours of driving, including offroad and highway, and a driving exam of 45 minutes.
In Australia we need to do the weave and full lock turn in plus we have emergency stop plus emergency weaving and also a road ride. This test does show rider skill and control at low speeds yet not much is asked about braking and quick turns
I'm honestly surprised how different the CA test is from the MA one. In Massachusetts we had to do a right turn inside of cones, a U-turn in a box, a swerve test, a quick-stop test, and follow a curving path while staying between lines.
Lol I didn’t realize that was the San Mateo DMV until you got close to the 101. Driven past that place thousands of times. I live in the Central Valley now. I miss the bay. It was good to see a familiar place. Congratulations on passing. I have to schedule mine soon.
You did really well !! Well done sir 👍🏼 Tbh I need a little more practice, I’m a newish rider, I’ve just bought a new Yamaha yzf r. I’ve hacked the gears and feel able to up shift/ Slow down down shift. After work I’ll go to the park next to my house wich has a nice little car park and I’ll practice my figure of eight, u turns, and staying on the white lines. Want to book my module 1/2 in future and go to a bigger cc ❤️
I recommend a safety course, especially for beginners. It has good rider info, they supply you with a bike and helmet for the coarse and they give you your permit aswell same day. Went straight to DMV on completion of coarse for the written, and done. All in a days work.
That's so much easier than here in Italy! In Italy you have to do one slow course only in first gear with a slalom and a curve (over 15 seconds), then a fast course with two slalom and a curve (under 26 seconds) and if you pass both, you have to drive on the road 15 minutes or more with a supervisor in a car behind you! This is nothing
I have a 2006 Honda CBR 600rr that I got on Saturday and drove it back from Sacramento CA to Fresno California after 4 hours of learning. Now I'm going for my permanent 2morrow. I tried to do this and dropped it onces and put my foot down it a good thing I had no experience because I'm forced to learn my clutch and slow speeds. Thank you the video. This helps a lot.
I’m the course I was in, we had to create an “8” within like a parking space, and be able to shift and down shift quickly and break, go between each other make it like “we are the traffic” with each other
I did the course in high school over here in Cali. They give you the gear and the bike ( I had to pay 180 and get parent signature) and once you done they give you a certificate. I took the paper to the dmv and they guy said “you know what? It’s raining outside today and it seems like you know how to ride. congratulations.” I was like wtf lol
Thank you for the video! I rode a ~300cc bike for my test, which was great. I think having a smaller size/engine bike (>150cc) is key for this test. Also the technique I used that was helpful was that I rode at clutch speed for the test. I didn't use the throttle at all and I also didn't use my front brake. I felt comfortable keeping my riding speed at ~5mph and used my rear brake to adjust my speed for the cones and the counter-/clockwise circles x2. Good luck and stay safe yall!
Just a heads-up to you guys. Don't just think you can walk in and pass the multiple choice test. Study the motorcycle handbook. I'm not kidding. Read every single page, then read it again. The test is tricky on purpose. Sometimes all 4 choices seem correct unless you REALLY know your stuff. It's not like the car exam, where it's just about traffic rules. No, this motorcycle exam goes into the physics of riding a motorcycle. And lots of situational best-practices. Such as where you should position yourself on the road when around other cars. Best way to stop in certain situations. What's the safest gear or helmet you can wear. Night riding requirements. Etc. I'm not dumb. I passed it. But it was hard. And I'm glad I studied.
yeah agreed!! i tried that and failed, after doing the WRONG questions online (did they change them) JUST passed today with 4 errors!!! Alcohol affects JUDGEMENT first fyi - VERY tricky and dumb questions!
Agreed. I read the hand book along with using an app to study with. I took the written test a few days ago and got 100%. Without studying I would have easily failed.
Alfonse Aquino I used California motorcycle test and a couple others. I just did a search on m1 test prep and used the ones for my state. It helped a lot.
I took the 3 day coarse for my endorsement they provide the class with 250cc motorcycle to ride there were people in the class that didnt know the concept of switching gears not even driven a manual car...and they were riding those bike doing well, the test was easy did some balance tests, hard braking, driving over obstacles,it was super easy for me growing up ripping on dirt bikes, got my endorsement and the next weekend went and bought me a brand new 2012 z1000...some people believe in beginner bikes I dont...like they told me at family powersports the bike is gona perform to your ability when you get comfortable then you will progress with your motorcycle...if you are one of those that thinks they can do it all and wants to show off you will ride outside of your limits and you will probably end up in a wreck.... but shure enough the trim line or crease of the side wall started rounding off, some old riders like to call it the chicken strip,if you still have your side wall or crease your most likely afraid to lay your bike over lol....if you are a new rider get the bike you want but if you have all the money and can afford to upgrade and dont feel you can trust yourself on a bigger bike then by all means....
Assuming he started from first. I mean its all semantics, because why wouldnt you start in first gear. But he wanted to see 2 up, 2 down. So if you started in 2nd it would have been 4th, not third. yeah its stupid, but still. an important distinction.
This exam makes me cry. I remember how I passed such an exam in Russia. It was necessary to pass the "snake", as here around the cones, then a narrow track, slow driving, acceleration and braking (you need to switch to second gear) and at the end your favorite figure "8". You also had to raise your hands in two places and show that you turned on neutral. I studied in the winter when there was snow around the site, they handed over in the spring when the snow melted. The exam is taken by the traffic police.
In Japan we had to know the course - they gave us a map of it to look at 5 mins before and made us memorize it. Where you had to drive between 2 white lines, we had a narrow ramp up to an elevated plank and then had to drive across the plank as slow as possible. Another part we had to lay the bike down and show them we could pick it up ourselves. Lots of small rules to re signaling and looking around, etc.
just passed on my second try on a 75 honda trail 90, I ride with my tires a little soft and they are off-road tires so the first time it was tough to make those quick little adjustments with the steering and I lost my balance and put my foot down like a dummy. The second time I chalked out the course in an empty lot and practiced, I put some more air in my tires and because my bike doesn't have a clutch to feather and first gear is pretty jerky when you give it gas I did the test in second gear which smoothed it out some (probably unlikely anyone is taking their test on what is mostly an offroad bike with pretty low gears but just in case). For me the hardest part was coming out of the second circle back into the straight shot cause you are going from a 2' wide path to a 1' wide path (and also you are pretty close to the end of the test so you start thinking about being done with this crap finally :) good luck
@Shamoun Kyriakos the number of accidents decreeses by a very large amount during the first miles you drive. So having someone with you to do emergancy brakes is wery wise.
Took this test 4 years ago at Westminister Ca, I did everything perfect but when I was completing the end of the second circle and when I was exiting the circle to go between the 2 white lines the lady said my back wheel went outside by an inch ( it didn’t ) and she failed me, I was pissed, she had an attitude with me before the test started, I went in and complained but fell on deaf ears.
In Texas you have to take a MSF course. Back in the 80's I had a Trooper that followed me in his vehicle. He would honk once to turn right and twice to turn left.
@QueensVillage Press According to the Texas DMV website: "Motorcycle Safety Course To obtain a Class M driver license, individuals must take a DPS-approved motorcycle safety course and bring the certificate of completion with them to the driver license office."
You guys check your local Community colleges to see if they offer Biker Course sometimes they will give you a voucher for the DMV to waive the Riders test.
I instantly recognized this DMV its where i passed my standard drivers license test. I had no idea the motorcycle test was so easy. Gonna get a motorcycle after all.
Easy ... In Denmark you have a driving test on the roads for 45-60 min. with a instructor following you all the time, you fail if you have more then 5 mistakes
Same here in England. Plus you have to do another test which is like this one but with a figure of 8, emergency stop and emergency swerve. Plus manual handling.
Easy way to pass it is to rent or borrow a scooter and use it to take the driving course test. It is automatic, easy to maneuver because it has smaller wheelbase. In California, you need a motorcycle DL to ride a scooter. You're welcome.
@@normedwards5305 Anything 150cc or bigger is considered as a motorcycle in California. And an M1 motorcycle license is required to operate mentioned motorcycles. Therefore, a 150cc scooter used in a driving test, if passed, will grant you a motorcycle license in California and you can operate any size engines.
gl. Visited dmv everyday myself while waiting on my driving test.clutch and break is the easiest way and since they want u to be extremely slow, it is the perfect way to go 👍.
They should teach you to lean at slow speed maneuvering though since that's the way to get an actual short turning circle unlike the way they do it in this test.. Looks so stupid from a European point of view..
@@Nskm139 yes current insurance , registration will be required prior to testing. The bike doesn't have to belong to you but you will be required to show proof of both in order to take the riding test.
I passed my MSF course and got motorcycle endorsement added to my license. Joining MSF school and getting a waiver is much more easier than MVC route. If you do the MVC route you have to take a permit test, wait 20 days and then take the road test..
Laughing 77 : Yep, the course is definitely worth every penny. You will learn a lot of tips. Our instructors were super helpful and relaxed. They made sure we were all learning and having fun too..
In India all you have to do is start the ignition and go park in the parking lot that's it. And yet we drive on the most busiest and dangerous traffic in the world.
@@allyouneed247 It's dangerous not because it's easy meaning that it's not dangerous because you might hit or crash another car while driving as it is usually not an issue but because cows and pedestrians walk in the middle of the road and if you mistakingly hit either of the two especially a cow, a mob or group of people nearby will come and hit you with sticks, stones, shoes etc until you're dead.
@@ramiroorozco8974 Yes indeed they are and I enjoy it myself but in mainland India cows are considered as Gods to Hindus which is a majority of the population and even the some state governments have banned cow slaughtering which means imprisonment. In fact there is a political leader in some state who has given powers to extremist groups to punish anyone who breaks the law even if they are just suspects without any evidence. They can torture or murder any suspects without being held accountable even though murdering of any sort is illegal. Here cows are safer than women.
I recommend taking the MSF course. Once you do that you only take the written test at the DMV. Also your insurance will be cheaper if you complete the course. And most importantly you will learn a lot of safety tips.
Francisco March i agree, especially if u r an absolute begginer. msf will teach stuff like counter steering, cornering etc. U can’t steer the normal way on a motorcycle, u will end up at the opposite direction and crash, you have to counter steer on high speed.

When I took my test everyone but me was on a scooter and was able to get a M license.
same here, i tought this is a fucking joke not a test. no road test? really? thats the main part
Exactly the same in Netherlands lol. I envy this guy. The amount of money it took me to get both tests done. I should’ve just gotten the american license after 10-20 hours of experience lmfao
I only went for a CBT but even on that after going around the cones I had to do a mandatory 2 hours on the road.
@@Ryan-re1rs a regular scooter or a motorscooter?
I know this video is 3 years old but i still felt the hype in the end like Wooo!!! Congrats bro!!! Lol
I was rooting for him the whole time, lol.
Wtf
You're kidding right
Fuck that tryanny
Why are you all so upset about this? This is how you prevent dumbasses from riding and good riders to learn and be properly prepared.
In Australia we need to do the weave and full lock turn in plus we have emergency stop plus emergency weaving and also a road ride. This test does show rider skill and control at low speeds yet not much is asked about braking and quick turns
Thank you for this vid. I got my M1 license in 2020...passed it because of this vid.
I knew I recognized this place 😭 This is the DMV in San Mateo I’m gonna eventually take my test here, that’s crazy I have the exact video I need.
it is. good luck
I'm honestly surprised how different the CA test is from the MA one. In Massachusetts we had to do a right turn inside of cones, a U-turn in a box, a swerve test, a quick-stop test, and follow a curving path while staying between lines.
Damn, i feel like i passed the test with you! Good job bud!
Here's a good tip. Ride on the rear brake to slowdown the forward momentum. I passed this test on a liter bike
Okay, now I am ready for the behind the wheel test. Now all I need is someone with a bike lmao.
Lol I didn’t realize that was the San Mateo DMV until you got close to the 101. Driven past that place thousands of times. I live in the Central Valley now. I miss the bay. It was good to see a familiar place. Congratulations on passing. I have to schedule mine soon.
I lived in the Central Valley and moved to the East bay just recently. It's way more fun over here but expensive.
I know this was a long time ago but nice job. There is something exciting about passing that test.
Really, that's all? Damn, what am I waiting for haha you're awesome for posting this video!
Why was I nervous watching this 😂
I recommend a safety course, especially for beginners. It has good rider info, they supply you with a bike and helmet for the coarse and they give you your permit aswell same day. Went straight to DMV on completion of coarse for the written, and done. All in a days work.
That's what I was planning within the next few months, feel like the class would be overall worth it. Especially having never ridden before.
Well im assuming everyone over there have monster bikes so they have to make sure people aren't just going to rocket away to death
Did you pass?
i hope not....
Ayyyyy fresno!!
Got my license in Florida. Relatively easy, I did it with a course instructor and took my certificate at the dmv. But still... easy to get.
I’m the course I was in, we had to create an “8” within like a parking space, and be able to shift and down shift quickly and break, go between each other make it like “we are the traffic” with each other
I was in a motor safety course
Nobody gonna talk about how we are getting this now when it was uploaded 4 years ago?
"So third gear right?"
"No go 2 up"
"Yeah so 3 gear right?"
Assuming he started from first. I mean its all semantics, because why wouldnt you start in first gear. But he wanted to see 2 up, 2 down. So if you started in 2nd it would have been 4th, not third.
yeah its stupid, but still. an important distinction.
In Mexico i just pay for the license
same in russia
Lol
Same in india
Damn those words “congratulations man” that hit the feels for me
just passed on my second try on a 75 honda trail 90, I ride with my tires a little soft and they are off-road tires so the first time it was tough to make those quick little adjustments with the steering and I lost my balance and put my foot down like a dummy.
In norway you have to spend many hours on public roads with an instructor. And then the test is half an hour long.
TheWiseGod same thing in the netherlands
same thing in france
@Shamoun Kyriakos the number of accidents decreeses by a very large amount during the first miles you drive. So having someone with you to do emergancy brakes is wery wise.
Don’t even own a bike but it’s in my recommended
I appreciate you brotha!!! This was clean and to the point… thank you for making this video!
You're welome :). Glad it helped. Good luck bro.
@@epiclife2225 PS I passed the exam… thanks to you 🙏🏽
@@abeselomsemere4342 congrats!
This video helped me, by giving me the confidence..I have the same bike
Thanks!
nice! good luck to you✌️
+EpicMotorcycleJourney I had an 88 ex500 was amazing till the motor blew, working on rebuilding it!!
Show me the kill-switch. Show me a wheelie. All good, here's your license, sir
Like a boss. Don’t forget Defensive Driving. No car sees you, and they are only risking parts that they can replace. Congrats!
Who didn't search for this, but it came in the recommendation and watched it anyway.
I passed this test 20 years ago on a CBR600F2. First try, got lucky. 👍
Getting my permit this month, can't wait
goodluck 😎👏🥳
I wasn’t even taking the test and I felt nervous 😭😂
In Texas you have to take a MSF course. Back in the 80's I had a Trooper that followed me in his vehicle. He would honk once to turn right and twice to turn left.
@QueensVillage Press According to the Texas DMV website: "Motorcycle Safety Course
To obtain a Class M driver license, individuals must take a DPS-approved motorcycle safety course and bring the certificate of completion with them to the driver license office."
@QueensVillage Press somewhere around $215-$240.
You guys check your local Community colleges to see if they offer Biker Course sometimes they will give you a voucher for the DMV to waive the Riders test.
YZF-PRYRA
Thanks
I instantly recognized this DMV its where i passed my standard drivers license test. I had no idea the motorcycle test was so easy. Gonna get a motorcycle after all.
thank you for showing us your California motorcycles test
I'd rather do that... even for 45 to 60 miles! :-)
Easy way to pass it is to rent or borrow a scooter and use it to take the driving course test. It is automatic, easy to maneuver because it has smaller wheelbase. In California, you need a motorcycle DL to ride a scooter. You're welcome.
That only gets you a license for up a 250 though.
BOVVER and that’s why you lot die. 🙈
@@MrSteve2714740 lol
Steve Easton who cares they take the risk riding a motorcycle and it’s dangerous so why does it matter how hard the test is ?
thanks for the vid i got my permit last week bought a beater bike 2 days ago, gonna go practice at my local dmv, test in 9 days
gl. Visited dmv everyday myself while waiting on my driving test.clutch and break is the easiest way and since they want u to be extremely slow, it is the perfect way to go 👍.
He also taught us something READ BEFORE YOU SIGN!!
It feels like a gta tutorial lmfao
That’s the Home town born and raised! Mateo Bebe.... got my Ls same spot. Great Video
i was nervous for you watching the whole video like it was me. lol..
Now we need you to go to every other state please thanks.
in my country we hop on the bike after we have explained every part what does but your test was so chill and confident that you u got it easy
Low speed maneuvering is harder than it looks if you don't know to use the friction zone and the brake.
Lol ok
They should teach you to lean at slow speed maneuvering though since that's the way to get an actual short turning circle unlike the way they do it in this test.. Looks so stupid from a European point of view..
Best advice I can give you is to use only your rear brakes to control your bike during the test, never touch your front brakes.
Question can you take motorcycle skill test without motorcycle insurance ? Do they ask for insurance or not ? thx
@@Nskm139 yes current insurance , registration will be required prior to testing. The bike doesn't have to belong to you but you will be required to show proof of both in order to take the riding test.
Question, did you take the test on the batcycle?
@@dydxeq0 of course👍
I passed my MSF course and got motorcycle endorsement added to my license. Joining MSF school and getting a waiver is much more easier than MVC route. If you do the MVC route you have to take a permit test, wait 20 days and then take the road test..
Laughing 77 : Yep, the course is definitely worth every penny. You will learn a lot of tips. Our instructors were super helpful and relaxed. They made sure we were all learning and having fun too..
Well done fam!
Yo
In India all you have to do is start the ignition and go park in the parking lot that's it. And yet we drive on the most busiest and dangerous traffic in the world.
It is probably the other way around... because your driving test are so easy you also have the most dangerous roads in the world
@@allyouneed247 It's dangerous not because it's easy meaning that it's not dangerous because you might hit or crash another car while driving as it is usually not an issue but because cows and pedestrians walk in the middle of the road and if you mistakingly hit either of the two especially a cow, a mob or group of people nearby will come and hit you with sticks, stones, shoes etc until you're dead.
Io92 zack Indian niggas need to get their priorities straight cows are delicious
Io92 zack damm that’s crazy but can you get a decent steak anywhere legally? Or is it like drugs completely illegal!
Cool I just passed my written test. I’m gonna take my Chinese 49cc scooter to dmv to practice. Looks easy enough with a small scooter.
Now i can take my new like bike 150cc down there. It has so much more power than my 49cc revolution scooter ever djd.
