1. Is 4 pc imaginary really that good? vs 2pc 2pc etc.
A: The set has significantly higher uptime on Ratio than other Imaginary units. The ease of breaking and imprisonment uptime is amazing when you put your toughness units on one target. Also the viability of welt as a partner should be a factor!
2. Only 1 Cruising of Stellar Sea LC should I use this one Seele or Dr. Ratio?
A: If you have both Seele and Dr. Ratio and did not pull for any signature LCs, I recommend Cruising on Ratio. Seele utilizes alternative F2P lightcones better than Ratio can.
3. How is Yukong for Dr. Ratio?
The main issue I see with Yukong is that Dr. Ratio easily over caps on crit rate especially with Cruising in the Stellar Sea. Second obvious factor is that she provides 0 debuffs.
I would say she's usable at E6, not recommended otherwise.
4. E1 vs LC?
A: if you are only going for 1 of them forever and not getting more eidolons, then go for LC because it's less pulls to get on average and it can be used on other characters.
BUT, if you're going further than E1 either later or way in the future, his later Eidolons are just too good and E1 is required to get to them.
5. IMPORTANT Clarification!
Just because Imaginary 4 set is technically BIS, doesn't mean it is hard required to get. In fact the followup set domain is much more trailblaze power efficient! both sets in there are amazing
for many characters, and even Dr. Ratio can get 2pc 2pc combo just from one domain. Don't fall into the trap and farm for a 4 set, you'll find yourself get stuck for months...
6. NOT DEBUFFS! these effects are under 'other effect' catagory, thus not counted for debuffs. This is not the whole list, but commonly asked.

-Clara's Mark of counter
-Hanya's Burden
7. Clarification on 'DEBUFFS'
- DoT's are debuffs too! Debuffs are pretty much any negative effects on enemies (-def, -atk, -spd, -res, and even Topaz's Proof of DEBT!), with a few exceptions that I mentioned previously.
i disagree that ratio overcaps easily on critrate so ratio gets 27% for free 12% from fu xuan so 39% for free another 8% from intert so 47% for free if including fu xuan +the base 5% crit chance you have that adds upto 52% crit rate. You need another 48% from relics aka not possible without sacrificing crit dmg chest piece or you get a crit rate chest plate and get really lucky with crit dmg if you built a crit rate chest piece you would only need 16% from substats now that's doable so now you would just need everything to full send crit dmg aka that's impossible.
Edit actually it it very possible but 100% not an easy task without a crit rate chest piece its a struggle
I understand your view. But reallize Cruising of Stellar sea will be most people's LC and provides up to 32% CR. Most people can't afford to pull for signature. @@ihudo8430

Upcoming set is bis for him later so I don't recommend farming the cavern just yet. Just use any decent set.

Just letting everybody know that the status applied after using his ult 'wisemans folly' does not actually count as a debuff itself, you can see this when you do his trial quest and check the enemy's status and it lists under 'other effects'

For anyone who skipped DHIL he is probably the best character to raise against Imaginary enemies.
He should also be very fun to use with Elation in SU for some casual content!

You forgot about Yukong. Just for having her in the team , gives to Dr.Ratio +40% imaginary damage with Planetary Rendezvous and Land of Dreams ornament. Plus +80% atk, 30% crit rate and 70% Crit damage. Having her at E6 will be much better of course .

With Yukong and Herta Store lc you dont need to roll cr substat at all, just cd/attack its fine. I have 4/6 relics with god roll cd and zero cr, so, yeah, Yukong get back to work.
Yukong should do good in a Hypercarry team. Sadly, I won't be running her with Ratio. She stays with Clara.
Mono imaginary is here. Yukong, luocha, welt, Dr ratio. As a comp just kinda works perfectly

You forgot mentioning Glamoth for orb/rope. I see several HSR conent creators mentioning it as his BIS when speed is above 135.
I did mention, I just used the wrong picture icon. Also i made a typo of only 130 spd. It is indeed a really good set, could be BIS in some cases.
Im definitely get his lightcone since his lightcone is good for all Hunt unit except for the FUA stat on it for other hunt units

Your guides are great. Cruising Sea is ideal for Seele as well. Between Dr Ratio and Seele who gets Cruising Sea, assuming no limited 5 star light cones, and given one gets Cruising Sea which cone do you give the other?
I’ve been thinking the same thing, and my answer was to give Cruising sea to ratio.
The reason why is because Ratio gets 12% CR from Minor tracers, and 15% from his Major tracers (alongside 30% CD).
That is already 27% crit rate. Adding an additional 16% makes it 43% CR, and with the conditional passive active it becomes 59%.
So naturally, with Ratio, you’re sitting at a free 48% crit rate(+5% included due to base crit rate chance). And it peaks at 64% crit rate. (If the enemy is below 50% HP)
Of course - this relies on you stacking his A2 passive, though it shouldn’t be that hard.
The large sum of crit rate you receive makes investing in other stats a lot more easier. For someone like me whose cursed with single crit rolls, Ratio turns it into a blessing in disguise.
Seele could make use of Swordplay, considering her attacks have multi-hits. She maxes out the passive easily, whereas Ratio requires 2.5 turns - assuming his Follow up attacks also increase the passive.
I like cruising in the stellar sea more on Dr. Ratio. Not because it's not good on Seele, but rather if you don't pull for limited lightcones Seele have better alternatives than Dr. Ratio. Seele utilizes a greater range of f2p friendly LCs.

The team i am gonna be running is actually gonna have two debuffers, both topaz and pela, topaz applying 2 debuffs and pela applies another 2, pela so both topaz and ratio can run as dps, so its dual carry, but a fun one, and as a "harmony" unit, i am gonna use huo huo, as that works just fine, filling every role and allowing a type of multitarget dmg with topaz, and in optimal play allowing a chain of 5 attacks, with a total multiplier of ((270x2 +300x2+100)x1.5=)1860 multiplier, which is kinda insane, though it requires both ults to be active
and this is assuming they have the same cr rate crdmg and attack, speed is not important there, though recommended to be a case of -1 speed on topaz

Personally I would only choose a Crit Dmg body. Crit rate body will set it too high up. He already can get around 40% Crit rate without even investing into main or sub stats, just from traces and relic/ornament set effects.
So really...only invest into Crit Dmg and Crit Rate only on subs...but I'd also wait with the relics for a bit. Rn there is no best set for him, which might change soon like it did with Topaz who got a set an update later. Tho Salsotto won't change, that much I am sure of, it's already hard to replace on him

Side note: i have approximately 140 pulls, without including my on going star pass, waited for fu xuan rerun but i think i should use my gacha ticket to invest to my account more, i reckon i still can snatch fu xuan in rerun afterall since she will not rerunning in 5.0 according to leaks
in place of samp, options are Silverwolf, pela, Ruanmei, asta. But if none of those, Sampo is fine for debuffs. LC vs E1 would be LC because it's cheaper on average to pull. BUT if you're ever considering going above e1, go for E1 because his later eidolons are gold
Doesnt Welt apply 3 debuffs? Slow, Imprison and that 12% vulnerability debuff of his ult?? I think its his 3rd trace and is called Retribution.

What about Return to Darkness lightcone S5 with Crit Damage body? I was planning to use that. What are you using to get your calculations btw?
I am using full team stats for 2-3 popular teams. Assuming E0 and decent relics. I do my own calcs and spreadsheet in google sheets. S5 darkness is decent, it's major advantage is the utility of removing debuffs. Cruising is more competitive for pure DPS.
I can't wait to get him! Any new players will get carried through the story by this guy alone :D

I heard a lot about pairing E1S1 Topaz with him. I only have a E0S0 Topaz will that work? I don’t have silver wolf to take advantage of her debuff.

im planning using double dps with topaz, ruan mei, and sustain. now topaz using s3 yanqing lc and i have s5 swordplay, should i give s3 yanqing lc to ratio and topaz using swordplay?
yea topaz is super good with swordplay. Try to get Crusing Stellar for ratio, if not possible, year use yanqing

Pioneer works pretty well on Dr. Ratio for sure. I'd consider it to be best in slot even. My Dr. Ratio guide did not mention pioneer because it wasn't out yet.
after release of Ruan Mei wouldn't most orbs would be preferably ATK% instead of element DMG% if you're intending to use her in their team?
depends if you're Ruanmei is in the team. Ruanmei is a highly saught after teammate, I can't assume build everyone around her. We do just have 1 of her for now.
Personally gonna be doing duo dps with Welt since I lost a previous 50/50 to him and won my 50/50 for RM.
Same, I had welt for months without a good team. I lost my 50/50 to Himeko on RM lol.

Imagine running SW with Dr ratio and getting Yukon to support him . All you need is either a healer or sustainer and you are set. He might be the most broken free character since I got Welt when I first started playing and replaying.

It’s not okay to rely on just the 40% chance unfortunately. The talent is why you bring Dr Ratio. Better not to bring him at all if it’s just 40%
It you have e1 ruan mei, she gives two debuffs. Correct ? Or am I missing something. Also have you seen the leaked set for him coming next patch? Should I get that instead ?
E1 ruanmei is a buff not a debuff. I haven’t done calcs on future sets

he will be a free unit anyway, so whether you want to build him or not will be up to you. You can wait a bit until you see others play him after release to decide. I have DanIL and will build Dr Ratio. He is a strong unit.

I actually like him as is with Cruising of Stellar sea. With him being a free unit, you're perfectly fine to save your pulls. Penacony will be very tempting with new characters coming.
Would Dr. Ratio team be possible if Guinaifen is the only debuffer i have? I havent played for very long (since when SW rerun was nearing its end) and dont have Pela or Welt 😅
yes Guinaifen is a great debuffer, And I highly recommend using resolution sweat of pearl LC too if you have. Stack alot of effect hit on Guinaifen too!

so in my underqualified opinion, going 2waste + 2duke is actually better than going for the quantum set, for a single reason, if you combine pela with the signature lc resulting in a 54% defence bypass, while an additinional 10/20% defence penetration is good, compared to a 1.32x damage multiplier is just better than the 20% (at most) it gives without the enemy having quantum weak
it's not a 1.32x multiplier tho. All dmg boosts are additive and is not a separate multiplier. 2duke+2waste would result in roughly a 11% increase in output. quantum set will be higher if you're going for his LC/pela+ pearls of sweat LC

theres also himeko, herta, topaz etc. their talent is what make them great also
I don't know exactly how defence ignore on his signature lightcone works but if it depends on enemies current defense than the more defense shred you have from your team the more value his lightcone loses making the gap between other options even smaller
Defense ignore and shred in HSR is additive so they both scale exponentially, so having more defense shred/ignore actually makes his signature much better.

With silverwolf and quantum set on ratio his lightcone is a 33% dmg increase compared to s5 cruising in the stellar sea with 50% uptime on atk buff
Def Shred is additive and scales better as you reach that 100% shred. But the catch is that once you go over 100% which is rare anyways, you have 0 gains past that point.
He can maintain attack almost 100% of the time. And lesser you cr, the closer gap between them, at 60% its more like 5%
DoT effect like shock, windsheer is debuff too? or debuff is just like -deff -attck?
DoT's are debuffs. Debuff is pretty much any negative effects on enemies, with a few exceptions.

actually i recommend the new followup relic set for farming more, the old imaginary set you'd have to get 4 piece and the other set isnt very useful. you did a much more efficient farm! I've been in there for a couple months

Everyone really needs to farm a good quantum set, it’s good on basically every dps because of how good ignoring 20% of defense is
even just ignore 10% def is great if you stack it up. They def have a quantum bias in the early stage of the game.

4pc imaginary is better than what people give credit for. When all toughness break is focused on 1 target, they tend to get perma imprisoned. Also welt is a character. that being said tho, 2pc2pc is very strong, he's got so many options.

Tingyun is good overall as a buffer. Pela and Welt can apply debuffs and if you have the pearls of sweat LC that can also help with more debuffs. Ruan Mei has a debuff but it will not be up consistantly. If you have Pela E4 i think she gets an additional debuff. Luocha is overall a good healer option he doesn't add any debuffs though. But if you have Gepard or other preservation unit they can use the trend of the universal market LC which adds a debuff too. But Dr. Ratio with Welt and or Pela (with pearls LC) will be good. Guinafen or other DOT units can also work.
