Djordje Petrovic is the first NE Revolution goalkeeper to provide a primary assist on an MLS goal since Matt Reis against Kansas City in July 2011.

Montreal ... shut out in 5 of 6 games .. 5 losses, and in their one win, in which they scored all their goals this season, they were behind until the last few minutes ..

Not quite sure what to make of that one. Obviously bagging four and a clean sheet is brilliant, but I don’t think that was anywhere near our best. Matter of fact, I’d say that first half was the worst we’ve played this year. A large amount of credit should be given to the very well executed press by Losada and company. Including Offor and Saliba who I think had a very impressive first half. If Chinonso Offor can get cleaner on the ball I think he can become a big threat in MLS. The other factor on the night was our terrible positioning defensively. Both in midfield and along the backline. Romney and Kess could not have been further apart for a majority of the first period. They were so spread apart at one point that Romell Quioto was left completely free in behind with no one knowing. You cannot let a player of his quality go out of your sights at any point. And both were just flying out leaving incredible amounts of space open behind them. While Matt and Latif were getting sucked in up the pitch. It wasn’t a great look whatsoever, but DB’s finish absolutely was😮‍💨😮‍💨. What a hit that was!!! Capi with the cheeky pen and Bobby with a pretty straightforward dribble and finish. Then comes the fourth which was massive. GIACOMOOOOO VRIONI!!!! First goal from open play with a beautiful dribble and finish. Exactly what he needed to push his case for the XI. And the type of goal you can expect from him after seeing what he did in Austria. So happy that he managed to get that one today, so deserving of that moment Hopefully we get to see more of our 9 in the coming weeks!! Andrew was a crucial sub to fix that backline. Top decision by Bruce to bring him on. Completely shored up the defense and put in a class performance. The competition for time on the pitch has been incredible to watch this season. DJ and Latif also deserve a shout. Blessing did get caught up in attack a bit, but the passing and dribbling out of tight spaces was just fantastic. Really excited to see what the boys can do when we are fully fit. Away to Columbus next week will be a big challenge. Going up against Nancy who has got his side humming. Let’s see it boys!!!!! GO REVS!!!!!!!!

Well that is a testament on how dreadful Montreal are this season. You guys won by 4 and completely dominated us, and yet it was apparently that NE didn't was close to play their best.
Montreal have less shots on goal, than some teams have goals...they did none at Vancouver 2 weeks ago lol. I just hope at this point that we don't lose to Vaughn Azzuri, an amateur club next week in open cup, that would be the cake...and I wouldn't even be surprised.

Sitting in the front row of the game between the Madeline and the box that Montreal was defending I could not see how Henry and Dave were spaced quite as we as you could on the broadcast. That point being said, Montreal was never a threat in that game and even with Latif often getting bodied off the ball and Matt having a not so great game in the midfield we still dominated that first half and could have had 4 in the first 45 alone (that early hit off the post was the first sign of things to come). I still think we should be giving more minutes to Esmir than Jack because if Latif is getting bodied off the ball.... man Jack gets steam rolled off of it. Esmir is more able to take on defenders on the dribble and adds more to the attack. That being there really isn't much negative to take away except that Jozy sub made zero sense at all. He is the LAST person on the planet you should be putting in as a #10.

to be fair that was a clear foul before the third goal. to stay down and at the same time push somebody out of balance while he's going for a header is super dangerous
