One must laud Mr Samir Saran for adding a touch of realism as to their duplicity to the sanctimonious West. He has done magnanimously to represent India and her evolutional impact on the Global stage in future decades. However, one wonders if this positive civilisational influence on India's emergence would have been possible without PM Modi. Kudos to both.

What purpose has the sanctions served.? Russian gdp is better than any EU countries' gdp after sanctions. It is the common man who is suffering in the EU and western countries. I thought, it was only the muslim countries who tried to destroy each other but America is hell bent on destroying EU countries and themselves. It is a really very sad scenario. Just to boost its defence industry and please a handful of Trillioniers, America is making the whole world suffer. Everything has consequences, KARMA is going to come back. We used to think that America is heaven on earth, but now we realise it is HELL ON EARTH.

When India become as strong as China in the world stage, India will be a much more bigger force to reckon with for the West. Unlike the Chinese, Indians are very vocal and assertive in their arguments whether it's right or wrong. It'll be hard to win debates against Indians. We might even appeared to be arrogant to some people because we talk and argue a lot, like the Americans, we are loud. An interesting world ahead of us all 😊

One cannot eradicate 6 decades of weak policies and, economic and military weakness overnight. It's sad that some in India's political circles relish the above. Besides, India should want a strong government that deals with this weakness rather than put their self-interests above the country's. An Opposition that undermines the country's constitution certainly cannot represent the country's interests in a competitive and confrontational global environment. Be it Pakistan, China, the US or Europe, it's going to be tough competition. As they say 'when the going gets tough, the tough gets going'. Your government has been tough and so should Indians.

There is no denying that India is a key player in the global world order today.
But the issue essentially in summary is sustainable progress without the strings attached to dependencies on imported goods.
India really needs to put the metal to the pedal in terms of domestic onshore/offshore natural gas exploration. Natural gas is the most important 21st century resource yet and drives a lot of aspects of our lives from power plants to cooking gas to being used as transportation fuel. EVs, as a part of zero tail pipe emissions transportation has a significant carbon footprint apart from the elements used in producing batteries being fairly volatile in their prices.
If one person upto a 100 people live in areas which are difficult to access, it would be easier to bring those people on state run transportation to areas with better relative accessibility than take the entire election machinery to the remote location. There must be several backups for the transportation needs of these people on election day.
Unless someone lives a completely self sustainable in terms of growing your own food, house with your own electricity, everyone has the need of accessibility to markets and the needs of life.

He said India is seeking a better standard of living that is for 1.5 billion people which is the whole population of Europe the US and more, this will lead to competition and drive the prices high, especially in energy and minerals as India grows it needs a lot of energy right now it uses 8 to 10 million barrels of oil a day soon will be using 20 million barrels a day, they have to come from somewhere, than they start building new cities that need a lot of commodities also drive the prices high and the competition pressure that may lead to confrontation.

The triumphant bluster about India remaining a democracy and celebrating democratic values is a sham behind which Indian intellectual, political and bureaucratic class revel in. All democracies have challenges, like most Western Europeans not recognising their elites' decisions on immigration or net zero or what we can see in US, but India is an exception because it was never a real democracy that represented the will of hardly any one. There have been three features that have defined governance in India. One; vertical, horizontal, religious, linguistic and economically self-defined groups vying for one-upmanship over the other without increasing the size of the pie. Two, political leadership that has been always focused on getting power and remaining in power (rather that development or governance) which created such perverse incentives that politician-criminal nexus has been a fact accepted in media, judiciary and even movies, this is no different from the warlord phase in Chinese history or recent Afghan history. And third, India (the undivided sub-continent) historically has always reached heights when governed despotically and highly centralised, so the modern Indian 'nation' is designed to fail with its constitutional federalism that is nothing but a license for separatism.
