i gotta disagree, i think that listening to an audiobook while taking a shit, in a dingy apartment stacked with books, is exactly the kind of the thing you'd find the world's smartest person doing. smarts are great, but personal drive and charisma are much better indicators (imo) for success. Indeed her radical intelligence means relating to other humans at all would be difficult for her, and we see her rather extreme coping mechanisms not dissimilar to those you'll find commonly in the the "gifted" population. usually super smart characters just have magic knowledge or impossible gadgets that demonstrate their intellect, she's one of the few i've seen that demonstrate it thought her behavior. So far she's one of the best portrayals of a super intelligence in any media i think, hope they don't drop the ball with her later.
I actually felt the same way after making the video, but to be honest, I don't really care to make video essays, or write scripts. I'm too lazy for that. I'd rather just say what I'm thinking, record it, not make it to long, and if people want to watch it they can, if not, they don't. But I do value and agree with your comment, and I'm ok with that.
She lands a high paying job using only a few sentences and manipulates the hottest guy in the room into standing upp for himself. Idk going to far with this and you get Sherlock making the stupidest leaps in logic and being right.
@@niropaxum958 neither of those things make her smart let alone “smartest person on earth” the deep is a moron even for this show’s standards and Homelander practically forced her to work for him
Well I expected this to be "here is how sister sage is actually the victim no matter what evil shit she does" some shallow bread tube crap. And I am presently surprised, to some extent. There is this documentary about a man in America with the highest iq, he sort of did nothing special, the man believed in god, worked a 9-5 and had some interesting side projects. So I do like the fact that sister sage is not doing some silly lab stuff like a cartoon scientist. smart people can be self destructive and they can have problems functioning in a team just like any ego maniac her ego is completely justified so in that sense she is like homelander. Now her working with homelander towards his ideal vision makes sense historically, a lott of conquerors had verry intelligent advisors. Ultimately I think they will use sister sage against homelander, She brings upp Julius Caesar and that might be foreshadowing to her becoming Marcus Brutus. But I sure hope they remain a diabolical duo until the end.
I think Sage wasn't living secluded from society because of her person, but by choice, but I could have forgot something. Anyway besides some scenes of her scheming and Homelander doing exactly what she asked him not to: joining the 7 and getting a vaguely racist outfit. Anyway, the whole black superhero having black in their superhero name, is a thing of the past, there are a lot of black heroes that don't have black in their name. About Sister Sage, The Boys is an over the top show (and comic) making fun of the genre tropes. And in The Boys universe a black superman will never exists, Homelander was programmed to be Superamericaman, he wasn't just given V, he was raised in a lab, for what I understand for a black Homelander to exists, Vought would do the experiment again with a black kid (horrible idea) or Homelander should have a son with a black girl (horrible thing since we know that his son's mother wasn't exactly consensual), so the risk to have a third maniac capable of destroying the world, who is also black in the US which isn't really the best as I see, would be a recipe for disaster lol, also Homelander would never want a black son, you know what kind of disgusting human he is if you watched the show. But I'm too tired to go into detail and write a long comment, it's really late here, but I'm really curious to see where this season is going, the first three seasons are some of my favorite seasons in TV shows in general, so, I hope they keep with the quality. Anyway my head and my body hurt, and as I said it's late, hope y'all a good day/evening/night and nice channel name ;)
Feels like a smart person written by a not so smart writer. Compared to someone like Stan Edgar who we can tell is intelligent simply through his dialogue and actions she has to actively tell us she's intelligent, while also being surrounded by a trillion books. The writer thinks constantly mentioning she's black and a woman makes her seem intelligent but it really didn't. At least not in her introduction
@@killallrobots2001 while true there's also the issue of a character being only as smart as the person that writes him. It's easy to show a character being strong but to show a character being smart and manipulative you have to actually write smart dialogue and she doesn't really have that. There's also the issue of The Boys throwing away every notion of subtlety with it's political messages in the last 2 seasons. I think Firecracker and Sister Sage are very similar characters despite being portrayed as polar opposites and one being supposedly dumb while the other is the smartest character ever
lol actually like that homelander brought her in as his Edgar replacement. He actually had a void in him from Edgar. Hell it’s even adorable that sage’s costume has glasses in the same style as Edgar’s glasses
I thought this was gonna call out the hypocrisy of Boys fans loving every male seasonal big bad but the female ones are woke or not talked about (stormfront, sister sage as opposed to soldier soy and somelander)
That's so true, but a black Homelander just as easy as injected compound v in a kid. Homelander is so unique because he was engineered to that powerful. If having superheroes more acceptable that would've more acceptable, but since it's not quite there, it's unlikely that there could be a black Homelander.
My biggest problem w SS is that if she's rly the smartest person on Earth then she should be smart enough to not want to work w Homelander bc it'll likely get her killed. Maybe she's also smart enough to know that turning him down will also get her killed and figures she'll make as much money as she can before trying to bounce but who knows lol...
To be honest, I think it to early to tell. That said, I do think the writers are alluding to some profound trauma in her past that caused her to withdraw; to explain why she does not act the way we would expect the "smartest person in the world" to act.

Never thought about that
I feel like the smartest person in the world wouldn't let themselves be known in this world
She didn't want to join the seven, homelander did it out of revenge. Aside from that, she got kicked from the teen team and had been doing nothing
@@oomer2 i think it's also that he dangled the right reward to her, the chance, no the power, to set her craziest ambitions in motion.
This video feels like the biginning to a video essay that isn't.
to add to that i believe a lot more could be said in this video, and that perhaps writing down a script would be worthwhile

She is Rick Sanchez from Rick & Morty but uses actual lobotomy instead of alcohol
If she is a as smart as the writers want us to believe she definitely doesn’t show it 😂
