hope you guys do well. Lots of Sabres fans hate Eichel now, but I still have a special place for him in my heart because I followed his career so closely before he even came to the Sabres.
Anyone who's watched the Sabres play since the trade will see the mood of the team is night and day. I don't think Eichel was the only locker room issue as I think guys like Risto weren't sending off positive energy either. But they just seem to be unified now
@@jeffhill4526 I read that we could've still had Reinhart if they bothered to ask him. He said they didn't even ask if wanted to stay... I'm very happy for him. He was a true team player
The future is bright in Buffalo. I’m a strong advocate of a co-captaincy with Okposo and Tuch. Owen Power will be a force. Quinn and Peterka also. Need a right-handed defenseman and a number 1 goalie. But Buffalo has cap space and picks to burn.
@@HoweyJR_ that doesnt make him a capable leader. Yes he has skill, but he constantly bashed the team, alienated a few players in the locker room and was an overall cancer.

@@HoweyJR_ under his captain reign the players went down hill, they were all good players but got put down by him and then he acted as if he didn't do that kind of thing, he had the coaches and managers fooled. Look how quickly the team played more like team since he left.
Jack was an entitled arrogant brat since day one and his teammates couldn't stand him. I'd take Alex Tuch over him any day! 6yrs were wasted on Jack ruining our locker room so now we can truly rebuild the team. Addition by subtraction! Good things are happening for the Sabres now.
For those who don't know, there was a sabres player who was playing in Rochester at the time who gave a radio interview there last summer. When he was asked about eichel, he said that "eichel is certainly no crosby type of leader" and went on to basically say that eichel didn't necessarily make every player feel welcome on the team
Well some great players don't make the best captains. That is why you should give it to your top players if that is what you are looking for. We don't know the struggle there. Vegas does not require anything from him but scoring. He is doing all he can to make that happen. He isn't playing with the line he was promised because they are hurt. So, we don't know what that line will look like when everyone is well.
A little of an unfair attack on his him here. Unlike Sid, When you have an opportunity to come on an already winning team like Sid did, with so many older wiser, establishment, leaders l/mentors like Crosby did, it's no wonder Crosby molded into the leader he is currently. He was allowed to just st play and watched guys like jagr,Kevin Stevens, Mario lemiuex lead in the community, locker room, and in they're families, because some already had kids. Eichel had none of what Crosby had to start, he has the opposite. And to make matters worse, they basically gave him the captaincy, way to Early, alot of pressure to get right off the bat. The best thing jack could have had was leadership that would hold him accountable for his words, accountability that led by doing instead of getting on his case. Leadership that would have called him on his crap but In a firm non condescending way. All this being said, real leadership starts in the home, Crosby has a dad that is a family guy, I don't know about Jack's background. All I can say is from sids generation to jacks is was a totally different era. I believe jack is a leader, but, should have had better went to a team who already had a winning culture, and guys who put the team first before Himself, when there is no accountability, and your not having fun playing, is pretty problematic.
There's been numerous stories of these types of incidents. The reason they didn't come out was that no one wanted to create more drama. Many of the journalists would keep the talk minimal for self serving reasons, as they didn't want to fear reprisals from PSE/ownership. The biggest eye opening story to come out was Craig Rivet's story about Eichel walking away from the Junior Sabres after a game on Long Island against the Islanders. Okposo then came out instead. Craig was coaching them and they had a tournament that coincided with a Sabres game there. Got VIP tickets for the kids who came down to the dressing room. That's not leadership, or being the team's ambassador.
@@jeremiahberry1134 this has to be the most factually incorrect comment I’ve ever seen. How do you think the pens ended up with Sid at #1? It wasn’t because they were a winning team. They had the worse record in the league before the lockout, the second worst in 02-03, and the 4th worst in 01-02. What did they do the first year with Sid? Second worst in the league and drafted Malkin. So for being as bad as they were, they drafted MAF in goal #1 overall after worst record in hockey, drafted sid after worst combined record in lockout draft #1 overall, and Malkin #2 overall for second worst record. Lemieux played 10 games in 03-04 and 20 games in 05-06, Sid’s first year and his last. Stevens retired 3 years before Sid was even drafted, or when he was 15. Jagr last played for the pens in 2001, four years before Sid was drafted or when he was 14. The Sabres brought in the top #2 center in hockey in, they had drafted 2 overall the year before a top winger for him, brought in a 30 goal scorer in Kane, and an up and coming goalie in lehner. Eichel had more than Sid had but he didn’t produce like Sid did. Different level of player but don’t you dare say he wasn’t given support. Eichel is a guy who expects to be handed it. It will be so poetic for the knights to miss the playoffs and blow it all up because Eichel didn’t carry them to the playoffs. They wanted to go for it this year and they have, so far, squandered it. He still thinks he did nothing wrong despite demanding a trade a year after resigning and before he ever got hurt.
This guy thinks way too highly of himself and much like little children he simply hasn't learned how to play with others in a professional environment. Just not a team guy, more of a "me" guy.
Who is here with the Sabres sitting one point out of a playoff spot? The culture changed when he left as the kids he scorned and trade pieces that came back, mostly Tuch, are outscoring him and playing for each other and the real leaders now have the voice and control of the locker room in Okposo and Girgensons. Eichel is a great player but a terrible human being, if he only listened to the vets in the room with him and learned instead of living off his natural talents getting him by, he would be looking at his first playoff berth in Buffalo maybe. LFG!
Look at his facial expressions throughout the video. He calls it a "business", and he plays like its his job. He seems like the kind of guy who makes teammates afraid to make a mistake vs strive for excellence. That's the most important difference in sports. Contrast to Ovi, who exudes joy on every goal by every player, and has evolved to care more about the name on the front. That's a Captain.
Very well said. And an attitude of entitlement; he was royalty in Boston/the great Mass area. Never was told no etc etc. Don't get me wrong I still think he is a top 8-15 player in the league (maybe higher) But he is NOT a leader of men. And just looks like the douche bag at the party you would hate
@@huntr1462 Eichel had a problem with him which was reported at the time and then shortly after he got traded, I think it’s because O’Reily is a true leader and Eichel felt like he was supposed to be the leader in the room but that’s speculation on my part
Didn't ROR have the C, and Jack wanted it? That's when the locker room divide started, and after ROR was traded he'd said he'd lost his love for the game...the losing, the presence of a hotshot entitled prick #2 pick starting to form his clique, the organizational dysfunction from the top down. Your "best player" shouldn't always be your captain, but that was Jack's thinking, along with the idea he should have a say in coaching decisions at such a young age. Now under Granato, minus Jack, the players have said multiple times they're having fun again. The talent level isn't there yet obviously, but that'll change with an influx of young talent from ROC and hopefully free agency, with all the cap room. They can get more guys like Tuch, who WANT to play in the organization. With Jack it was his way or the highway, and it was poetic justice that VGK missed the playoffs with Jack looking bad in the process. It's only gonna be a matter of time before he tears VGK apart as well, and Buffalo fans will savor every minute of it as they build back up to playoff status.
The kid has great natural talent but there always was an immaturity that we thought he would grow out of. I really felt sorry for him because no one in the Sabres organization knew how or cared to help him develop and mature off ice. Buffalo fans suffered through the "Tank Season" (which crushed our Sabres Soul) and watching him score 4 goals in one game and then to see the ugly decline followed by the immature ranting and pouting by a team captain which was mishandled and ignored by the owners and management. I just hope the scars he left in this hockey town heal fast and are forgotten. Good luck Vegas and Jack. Long live the Sabres.
I'm pretty sure Dan Bylsma was trying, but he kinda got his ass canned for being a little bit of a hard ass. Granted when you're trying to get a team that just tanked to try and get McDavid there isn't much to deny the fact he had to instill some discipline and Eichel especially didn't like being told no. Though I blame the Pegula's. Who the fuck goes and listens to a 20 year old who has barely 2 seasons in the league over the guy that helped coach a Stanley Cup winning team? That's just pure stupidity and with Eichel being an RFA and the way the Sabres cap was set up at the time no one was going to be able to offer sheet him high enough for us to lose him
Didn't Matt Moulson take him in during Jack's first season? He did have a seasoned veteran who had success in the league mentoring him during that time. Granted, mismanagement and poor decision-making from the top down didn't help, and Moulson not living up to his contract weren't helpful either, but in hindsight we can clearly see Jack was the cancer...he took nothing from the established veterans he was surrounded with.
I saw this clip today and I want to tell you that you did a really good job with the Eichel situation. I have been a Sabres fan since the mid to late 70's and honestly can't tell you how excited I was when I knew that the Sabres were going to get Eichel during that draft. However, as I watched the games I began to realize that Eichel wasn't going to be the savior of the Sabres and that he probably wouldn't be spending his whole career as a Sabre which ended up coming to fruition in November of 2021 with the trade to Vegas. Although I honestly couldn't tell you if Eichel was a cancer in the locker room but I can tell you that the rumors were brewing. If you look at the Knights not making the playoffs this year, with all their injuries, etc, for the first time in their history it does tend to add more credence to the possibility that those rumors could be more true than not. However, in the case for the Sabres, it is now a mute point as the Sabres have molded into a cohesive team who played significantly better as the season went on, to the point where the name Eichel became an afterthought. I truly hope, for the Golden Knights and their fans, that the trade works out for both teams and Eichel doesn't become the number 13, the walk under a ladder or the step on a crack that breaks the Golden Knights back.
Ever since he got here something felt off to me. I loved Reinhart, and clearly based on what happened he was the more “mature” of the 2. Jack is very elite, but imo i am so glad we have tuch and krebs. The city of buffalo is changing with the hockey vibe and i am so glad they’re moving in the right direction. Prima Donas never see themselves as the problem when their team is losing. It's always someone else's fault, ( a coach,a goalie, his team, the press). Buffalo has been playing so much better since his departure and Vegas has been sinking since his arrival. Feel free to draw your own conclusion. Good luck Don Granato. Speaking as a former bulging neck disk survivor, I can’t really fault Eichel for holding out for a specific type of surgery. I’m not saying he’s a good guy-he’s clearly a jerk-but when it comes to that one thing, I empathize.
Jack is a bitter disappointment to say the least. He is a legend in his own mind. He has fooled a lot of people but we who have watched him can see he isn't worth his salary.
As a Sabres fan I hope Vegas misses the playoffs and gives us a Teen pick... 14-15ish. Biggest game will be Dallas vs Vegas, that has a potential to be a 4 point swing. As long as Dallas can take them to OT they should likely lock up their end.
@@BillsFan2024 honestly it's the front office that bothers me, not so much the players themselves. Really showing a lack of professionalism and empathy when it comes to their players...
Not to let Eichel off the hook (I think he's a jerk BTW), but the cancer that's been in the locker room for 6-7 years is the "tank" attitude that losing is acceptable. That's the poison that has finally, we hope, been purged since about February of this year, roughly. I don't know whether Granato deserves the credit, or Tuch & Krebs, or GM Adams, or the departure of several disgruntled players, but I'm very grateful as a fan of the team. If I were a GM or HC, I'd never ever let my team tank... it can instill a horrible, negative attitude that's extremely difficult to dispel.
Was upset when Flames missed out on getting him but in hin-sight seems like Vegas is not same team being top heavy & led by Eichel. He's still a No. 1 C but collection of players don't work around him as well, kind of like an inverse leader.
I think it's too early to say, plus be came back from neck surgery. He hasn't even been with the team a whole season yet. I'd say give it 1 full season, plus the team he is on has a lot of people out due to injuries.
I agree. Although I think it’s pretty safe to say that Eichel isn’t a leader or someone you want to build your team around based solely on his attitude. Which is fine. There are alot of hall of fame talented players like that that won multiple cups but you have to have the right players in place. I think Vegas does and buffalo didn’t. So I’d wait another season to see how things go like you said.

Eichel is a bratty man-child who set the Sabres franchise back at least 5 years with his poor attitude which caused the loss of coaches AND players ( Eichel actually LIKED Ralph Krueger) Good riddance.
I think Buffalo messed up when they made him captain so young, people see Crosby and think "All our star players should be the captain". Crosby is the captain because of his leadership skills not his talent, same reason Toronto was smart when they made Tavares captain and not Matthews. Personally I think Edmonton also made a mistake making McDavid captain so young, look at how he reacts whenever the Oilers are losing a game, he's shaking his head and laughing instead of talking to his team. The fact that Buffalo's front office also basically cried over not getting McDavid really soured the relationship from the beginning too.
He’s in kind of a thankless situation . I think Eichel is probably innately a moody guy… experiences things with intensity but just not inclined to enliven a room with his presence. Yet he is obviously an elite caliber player. To be a true benefit to a team he needs to be in a locker room of really competent teammates where the pressure isn’t on him. Things seldom go seamlessly for most and in this way, Jack is no different. He should be traded to another team and Knights could add a few really solid guys. Always thought Eichel would have fit well with LA and they did try to acquire him, but did not want to part with Byfield.
I think Vegas is the perfect spot for him to mature his game on and off the ice. Vegas has almost an entire starting lineup of captains. The leadership of stone, patches, Petro, Martinez, and marchy I think will help mould him into being vegas' future captain when all of them have moved on. Just too much veteran leadership that Jack can learn from he's only 25 he's still really young
Jack Eichel is a good player, but not as good as he thinks he is. He's no MacDavid, Crosby, or Mathews, not even close to these guys. He has a bad attitude, gets upset it he doesn't get his way, and this has an effect on his team mates. Should get rid of his ego, keep his mouth closed and just play hockey. Unfortunately, he will never be able to do this and will hinder any team he plays with.
Eichel needs to be on a team where he is one of the guys, not the guy. Nothing wrong with him he will be just fine he missed a lot of hockey and his elite game is not quite there yet.
I also agree. As a Sabres fan he rubs me the wrong way, I'm glad he's gone, but his attitude will improve a lot if the reporters don't cluster around him after every loss and demand that he explain it.
Hey Alyssa. Alyssa - fantastic job of giving a synopsis of Eichel's career so far. The further along his time in Buffalo went, the more I felt his....I'm going to say attitude for lack of a better word...might have caused some other players to sour. Whether that's true or not is difficult to say of course. On the other hand, if I'm Jack Eichel, watching the prime years of my professional hockey career spin casually around the toilet bowl as my team makes coaching change after coaching change and still goes nowhere....I can see his frustration for sure. In the end, a change was needed for both the Sabres and Jack Eichel. I'm very happy with what Buffalo got in return, those are two players for sure, and we'll see what the draft picks turn out to be. For Vegas' part in the trade...I wish the Knights well but I don't care. Go Sabres. Sabres were exciting to watch this year. Had their problems, will miss the playoffs again, couldn't hold a lead, but there's an energy there and a team and there is reason for optimism.
Wow that was a fantastic presentation thank you very much very professional great script right to the point. You "failed -cough cough-" to mention that one of the instigators, I forgot who, called Jack a piece of s*** LOL
Eichel is looking like the Matt Duchene off Buffalo, trade pieces along with other factors to elevate the team back into a playoff position, while the receiver misses playoffs. But hey Vegas only got him for 4 more years and have to shed 2 5mil contracts to accommodate.
Interesting video, and I have to say I agree with you, It would be interesting to see how Eichel will get along with Pacciority, whom I considered to be a rather toxic player in the Habs dressing room when he played for Montreal ( IMO).
Pachy is a fan favorite here and a beast on the ice. I feel it just takes the right “fit .” At the time that I’m writing this, he’s out on IR, but he is not a leader - I’m talking about an official one - but even during practices, he seems to fit in with the team. It’s strange how a poison for one team can be a benefit for another.
My opinion as a hard core Sabres fan , who watched a lot of eichel , is that he is an elite talent that will probably be good for like 20+ more years lol , but will need to /will figure it out eventually in terms of leadership. Maybe he won’t . But even if he’s a terrible leader he is talented enough to stay in the NHL for a very long time:
Buffalo has certainly struggled for a long time. However, since eichel has been with Vegas he’s only put up 7 goals and 7 assists in 21 games. Not bad for your average NHLer, but someone who’s picked 2nd overall and with one of the better teams, that’s a bit of a concern. I think he can turn it around next season but needs to know there’s 4 other teammates on the ice, not just him.
Unfortunately, at least for this year, you may get your wish. Unhappy Knights fan here because I’d much rather have our Fleury back than Eichel. If for no other reason to uplift the team in spirit and to uplift the fans in enthusiasm.

I've also heard stories how he was not nearly as approachable as you'd want your captain to be. Too much was made that the Sabres went how he did. The neck injury... there were no winners there. I'm not going to say one side was wrong or right. I see wrong and right on both sides.. but nobody won. Right now, the Trade has favored the Sabres as Tuch and Krebs have put up more points than Jack... but that's skewed by him being out healing too. I'm not sure if even in Vegas, he'll ever fully live up to the hype. Buffalo is a workman town. They've always been the best when the star player was the Goalie (You can go back to Dejardins, Edwards/Sauve, Barrasso, Puppa, HASEK, Miller....long list there) and a team full of guys who work their backsides off.. You fail to mention that he's a point per game producer for his career, on a team that had otherwise been horrible. Players like Taylor Hall, Jeff Skinner, Eric Staal, and Okposo that had been all-stars, as well as top prospects like Rasmus Dahlin, Ristolainen, Tage Thompson, and Casey Mittelstadt were all playing severely below expectations. The only player that wasn't entirely underperforming was Sam Reinhart, who still struggled considering he was a number 2 overall pick himself in 2014. Sam Reinhart is now putting up point per game numbers on the Florida Panthers third-line/powerplay-1. More credit for how well Eichel played on an otherwise horrible team is deserved.
The team catered to Eichel's every demand. He was given a 10 million AAV contract onwhat the team thought he could accomplish, not what he had accomplished. He signed an 8 year extension and wanted out the next year. Time will tell how this turns out, I for one am glad he is out of Buffalo and off the Sabres
@@robertrice6391 so you're a sabres fan? and you think your opinion isn't incredibly bias lmao. Saying a team is centered around someone doesn't mean they will produce. Look at Hischier in New Jersey for example, he is the captain at age 22 and still can't even score 0.75 points per game, while Eichel was a point per game producer for the better part of 5 straight seasons. I'm a fan of the devils, so I have no clear bias for Eichel nor the Sabres. Eichel had accrued over 100 points before even turning 20, which is when he signed his megacontract. Only other players to do such in the last decade are Austin Matthews and Connor McDavid. Both McDavid and Matthews are being paid well over 10 million per year. They didn't overpay Eichel, he continued to produce after signing, the Sabres failed to put a team around him. As a young guy leading a failing club, he definitely could've done better as a team leader, but Eichel's statistical production was as good or better than what I would've expected given the Sabres circumstances.
Because of the Eichel deal we don’t have Fleury anymore. (Or Tuch and Krebs, but that’s part of the mess) Many, if not most, Knights fans are still salty about that. The ROI still hasn’t paid off imo. I’d rather have 🌸 in the net. Lehner is always injured (which is how 🌸 won the Vezina last season by being **the** goalie) and our backups are AHL. While most of this has to do with the decisions of the front office, it’s all centers around Eichel. The Knights’ play this year has been lackluster compared to previous seasons, and whether it is because Fleury is gone or Eichel is in or a combination of the two, is anyone’s guess. All I know, if we don’t have a cup this year or next season, the front office is going to have to deal with very angry, very robbed fans. Who would be happy to see heads roll.
The Eichel trade to Vegas reminds me of Ottawa when the got Duchene. Look at Colorado now, Ottawa still has not recovered and with Vegas getting Eichel, it looks like no playoffs this year with 2 games left. Not blaming Eichel, Vegas has injuries but still they are loaded with talent and should not be struggling.
I think Eichel is the reason Risto and ROR wanted out, neither liked Jack and neither seen him as a Captain and wouldnt follow him on the ice, only production before their respective trades was to help themselves get out
He has 18 points in 24 games coming off of neck surgery. Buffalo was a dumpster fire with several coaching changes and had his lines constantly changed. Check back next season when he's at 100%.
I watched him early, from same area, incredible talent, but from what I've seen he's turned into a kinda diva, 1 player, no matter how good has to be personable and a team player, if not they can actually hurt your team, I think he's cocky, super confident or cocky are big differences, I believe his ego is bloated, making him problematic. Good luck to all.
Means the entire team didn't like him and wouldn't play for him. It only takes one player to poison a locker room and divide it, especially with him being Captain
Nothing wrong with wanting to play someplace that wants to win. I was a Sabres fan for years till Golisano gutted this team. They no longer look like a team that wants to win, knows how to win, or even plays like they even enjoy being out there on the ice. Jack was not the first player to get sick of the lack of motivation in the Sabres organization and he won't be the last. When everybody watches you thinking you are just going to try to tank the season half way through, because you have gotten no better, then how does that make any player aspire to perform on a team that at one time looked poised to be a dynasty and now people just wonder how you can keep drafting at the top of the list and get worse
You clearly haven't watched the Sabres these past couple of months. They definitely are not the worst, and we just need a goalie who isn't made of Swiss cheese and 2 solid defenseman. Our top 2 lines are playing great and were actually competitive. Maybe if you didn't give up on the Sabres you'd know, shows how dedicated of a fan you are.
@@mikelachey824 I can tell you one thing it's not the same one from last season. It's a really young team that has been winning a lot lately against really good teams. All the players on The Sabres say they want to compete for one another and say having no egos(aka Jack Eichel) in the locker room has helped them be more successful. Theirs no more intentional tanking or giving up halfway through the game when losing. It's a completely different team playing a completely different style of hockey with a completely different coach. It's fine if you don't want to be a fan but to say the team isn't aspiring to be a better hockey club just simply isn't true anymore.
@@jahimjauh-hey5653 lol same thing every year after they win a few games. This is a new team. Lol I've watched this team for years and been to thousands of games. Will be no different next season. They are a mismanaged mess. Best thing about the Sabres, is they occupy all of the pegulas time, so they can't be bothered to stick their nose into how the bills are being run
It's funny how Eichel leaves a terribly managed hockey club, and arrives to another terribly managed hockey club. Vegas was a Bettman experiment from the beginning that needed to succeed right off the bat. He couldn't risk this desert location not being immediately successful. That expansion draft was made for immediate success. Looking at all the bizarre moves there, for example firing a coach who took you to the final year one, hanging out Marc-Andre Fleury to dry. Sorry Eichel your character stinks, and you went to another team that's on the downward spiral. In my opinion.
Too big of an ego for a locker room . Funny how is the man , until after a lost and then after a lost " its a team sport ' . I'd pick Mc David or Mathews over Eichel or Laine any day for any team .
Eichel was a cancer. There were Sabres that were asked about Eichel, and they said “they don’t know much ab him, other than he’s a great player”. Eichel was a CAPTAIN! How do they not know their captain?! I understand he was on a bad team, but since he’s left, the team has been much more together. More family type. They’re all best friends. Also, Eichel was the reason we had to trade ROR.
As someone who has had multiple interactions with this guy since his rookie year i obviously don’t know what he does in the locker room but he gives 0 shits about fans. Especially the kids. When the captain of the team leaves (o Reilly) and then wins a cup the following year I think that says a lot. Ya some of the Sabres teams have been garbage but there have been also years where they were #1 in the conference and then didn’t even make playoffs.
Remember the North American Youngstars team? Eichel found himself on the fourth line. He didn’t seem to fit in with any of the amazing young talent on that team
Imagine if Vegas misses the playoffs and the first round pick that the Sabres acquired becomes a high pick. That would be hilarious
Imagine if vegas misses the playoffs because they have 8 starters hurt including the top two scorers and top goalie and backup goalie.

The future is bright in Buffalo. I’m a strong advocate of a co-captaincy with Okposo and Tuch. Owen Power will be a force. Quinn and Peterka also. Need a right-handed defenseman and a number 1 goalie. But Buffalo has cap space and picks to burn.

Hopefully you enjoy tuch underperforming
How about now is he a locker room cancer buddy? 😂
You mean to tell me a 2nd overall pick and a kid who was told how great he was his whole life is a prick?
There's been very few Sids ever so no knock there

@@borisvandruff7532 didn’t end well for the gm that made the trade 😂
All I can say is eichel left and the new sabres team has been all vibes
Always thought Eichel would have fit well with LA and they did try to acquire him, but did not want to part with Byfield.
the fact that he was pissed off McDavid went 1st overall and not him should say alot.
pissed off is an overstatement. lol
Cause Eric Staal, Brian Gionta, Girgensons and Okposo weren't leaders pfff 😂
These comments are gonna be so delicious if Vegas wins a cup….Buffalo fans and gatekeepers are so salty
Exactly! That is why I think the VGK are perfect for him. Stone as captain can put him in a position to simply be one of the guys. Time will tell.

How about the two 10 game winning seasons when the arena was going nuts. There was convern with structural engineers at one point.

Wow that was a fantastic presentation thank you very much very professional great script right to the point. You "failed -cough cough-" to mention that one of the instigators, I forgot who, called Jack a piece of s*** LOL
Better then Matthews you say. Well Matthews just scored 53rd goal and what's the spoiled lil boy have?
@Lucy Vanpelt You DO realize Chara almost killed the man years ago....
Vegas was my second favourite team but now it’s the Sabres
Nice video it's good to see a video of just the facts and what the sabres fans have been dealing with since 2015.
There is no doubt that Jack Eichel is a very good player, but I don't think he is so elite that he can act like such a prima donna! Just my 2 cents...
If you ask him he's better than Connor McDavid.
Yes and his teams will go nowhere.

21 games after healing from surgery,, says a lot huh? give him time.
Feel bad for the guy Sabres were garbage and Vegas wants him to be Connor McDavid first games back from NECK SURGERY lol
The Sabres were garbage BECAUSE of Jack
If you’re second favorite team isn’t the Sabres by now, you’re not a real hockey fan.
"Theres 8 guys on the ice so its a team game" man doesnt believe in too many men penalties
The trade was the best move Buffalo had made in a long time. At the same time I hope Vegas or any other team jack plays for never sees the playoffd
Unfortunately, at least for this year, you may get your wish. Unhappy Knights fan here because I’d much rather have our Fleury back than Eichel. If for no other reason to uplift the team in spirit and to uplift the fans in enthusiasm.
Vegas won the cup 😂😂😂😂😂
I don’t blame Jack, I stop blaming the kid a long time ago, I mean it’s so easy for people, the talking heads fans out there to say he was a whiny brat, he was spoiled, this, that and the other thing-take a step back and realize how bad we were for six years he was here THEN what they the organization put him through with the whole medical procedure thing…a hockey organization turned bureaucracy! 🤷🏼♂️
He signed his rights away to choose his surgery then didn’t honor his word that’s on him

Jack was expected to be a star. I think it was too much to dump on a young player. His numbers in Buffalo are not that great... Oh, very good.. but not GREAT. Jack I think expected that he had to carry the team.. no one player can carry a team. Even Gretzky, Lemeuix, Crosby.. they all needed support players to make them great... I wish him the best.. (Unless he's playing the sabres.. then I hope for -5 nights)
Thanks for the apology
LOL MAN I DID BE A PRO ON NHL 22 AND WAS DRAFTED BY BUFFALO AND I REQUESTED A TRADE RIGHT AWAY CAUSE THEY STILL HAD EICHEL ON THE TEAM LOL
To all those saying Eichel didn't have ego problems, remember that this is a player who started his NHL career by saying "I'm better than Connor McDavid".
Spoiler alert: He's not.
Spoiler alert: Yes he is. Jack has a better shot at a cup than Connor. Connor takes up almost 15% of his team's total payroll ALONE, before you add on Drai/Nurse
@@frederickglass1583 The mere fact that your best evidence of who's a better player is payroll says all that needs to be said. Nice try though, I guess.
@@frederickglass1583 If Eichel has a better shot at the cup, why is his team missing the playoffs, and why was his scoring so anemic over the last several games? The team needed him to step up and he choked. And he can blame anyone he wants to, but leaders, truly great players show up when the chips are down.
@@borisvandruff7532 VGK were unable to field a 100% healthy roster all season amid injury after injury.
Quit the "eichel is the problem" narrative. It shows how stupid ypu people are. Vegas couldn't overcome a myriad of health issues, their powerplay absolutely sucked, and more.
Grow tf up and learn about the game or just don't watch 🤷♂️
@@frederickglass1583 Jack makes 2.5 million per year less than McDavid, which is the price of one slightly less than average player (the average salary is 2.69 million). However, instead of comparing salaries - which is a ridiculous benchmark to use - let's compare numbers.
Eichel career stats:
GP G A P +/- PIM PPG PPP SHG SHP GWG OTG S S%
409 153 227 380 -66 152 44 135 1 3 27 8 1,457 10.5
McDavid career stats:
P G A P +/- PIM PPG PPP SHG SHP GWG OTG S S%
487 239 458 697 92 183 50 218 3 9 53 13 1,596 15
While game winning goals and +/- are more directly related to team success, that aside, Eichel has 0.929 points per game. McDavid has 1.43 ppg. McDavid also has a 4.5% better shot percentage.
So, real spoiler alert: Eichel is statistically not a better player than McDavid, even with 2.5 million more pre year in salary.
@@dylanobrien4617 jack is a tool. Always has been always will be. He will never be an "elite" player, his BS attitude will make sure of that
Because of the Eichel deal we don’t have Fleury anymore.
Good riddance... Enjoy the Eichel experience Vegas.

Keep an eye on Sabres next season.... they are starting to look like a real team.
@@jahimjauh-hey5653 lolol 😂 what team are you watching? Lol sorry, but they suck and it's going to be no different next yeat
Why all the incorrect hate? How wrong could you be, kinights playing for the cup.
Too big of an ego for a locker room . Funny how is the man , until after a lost and then after a lost " its a team sport ' . I'd pick Mc David or Mathews over Eichel or Laine any day for any team .
Cancer....a coach killer.nobody ever said no to him!!!.
Alyssa what's your take on "The Flower" being traded, AGAIN?
Can you liken Eichel to LeBum in the NBA?
Eichel was a cancer. There were Sabres that were asked about Eichel, and they said “they don’t know much ab him, other than he’s a great player”. Eichel was a CAPTAIN! How do they not know their captain?! I understand he was on a bad team, but since he’s left, the team has been much more together. More family type. They’re all best friends. Also, Eichel was the reason we had to trade ROR.
Way overrated.....he plays for Jack Eichel, not for his team...
Better than MC David????? Hahahaha are you kidding me?
great summation of Eichel. He never played for the team, only himself. Prima Donas are poisonous .
why not both?
Eichel isn't a leader. Simple as that. Look at McShithead, what has he done? Nothing. And they are getting older each year, windows closing.
Eichel Still good next season will be better he be in shape its not easy coming off injury that long
Didn't they say same thing about O'Reilly?
As someone who has had multiple interactions with this guy since his rookie year i obviously don’t know what he does in the locker room but he gives 0 shits about fans. Especially the kids. When the captain of the team leaves (o Reilly) and then wins a cup the following year I think that says a lot. Ya some of the Sabres teams have been garbage but there have been also years where they were #1 in the conference and then didn’t even make playoffs.
not every person is good at that.
There is rules for a reason and you don’t make exceptions for anyone
Anyone who has to play on buffalo is cursed.
we are doing pretty good now that the cancer is gone
