Lots of people keep saying that, but that's not the player's fault. That's all on a coach. Coach moves the lines around, if players don't like it they'll go to the GM/owner to bitch. If a GM tells me what my lines are, I'd say fire me and find a coach to be your lap dog.

Maybe when Buff was there he kept things somewhat workable between the players...after he left things got bad...Laine left...Mark and Blake felt they knew what was best for the team....Maurice left....time for a major change somewhere. Doesn't help now that Mark is not the coaches pet...and Dave L knew the issues when he took over as coach but probably is restricted in his ability to make major changes.
Jets might be the franchise people know the least about, but i think alot of people read alot in to Paul Maurice's resigning and it having to do with something like this, not just Scheifele but the core players. The fact that Stastny interjected with those comments is very telling aswell in my opinion.

Great video, certainly helped clear up a lot of confusion I had about the situation. As a Jets fan, I’ve been a big fan of Scheifele’s for many years. He’s always been one of our best players. I would be sad to see him go, but if’s it’s for the better of the team, then maybe letting him go is the best decision.

With the original management staying….you think every coach thinking about a wpg job hasn’t first talked to Maurice….they might have an issue attracting a decent coach without first making a few changes….not to mention keeping good happy players around. Also wpg is not the best environment in the league to live at outside of the rink.
Great video, certainly helped clear up a lot of confusion I had about the situation. As a Jets fan, I’ve been a big fan of Scheifele’s for many years. He’s always been one of our best players. I would be sad to see him go, but if’s it’s for the better of the team, then maybe letting him go is the best decision.

It seems the Jets have had a lot of locker room cancers. Laine, Evander Kane, Byfuglien, Trouba, now Scheifele and maybe Dubois, who was a locker room cancer in Columbus. I've always thought of Scheifele as the "Good Ol' Canadian Boy". How can he be a locker room cancer? Something's gone wrong with this team, which showed so much promise a couple of years back. As for Torts, he has a pretty good record for being the "worst coach", He won a Stanley cup and had pretty fair success in both new York & Columbus. The only place he really failed was Vancouver, and that was already a declining club with a country club atmosphere. Torts' main problem is he's only good for a couple of years and then the players get tired of him. As for Laine, I agree. He's a $10M talent with $5M results. Maybe one day he'll put it together for a whole year.

Scheifele proved himself a selfish, egotistic, and stupid, player when he carried out that egregious hit which got him suspended from the playoffs against the Canadiens last year. That might have cost the Jets the ability to advance and no doubt produced divisions on the team.
