Chocolate & Badam Barfi
(Makes bite sized 16-20 pieces)
Ingredients
Almonds - 250 gm
Milk Powder - 1/2 cup
Cocoa Powder - 1/4 cup
Cardamom Powder (Elaichi) - 1 tsp
Water - 1/2 cup
Jaggery Powder - 3/4 cup
Ghee - 1 tbsp
For Garnish
Silver Vark
Toasted almonds, cut into halves
Method-
1. Grind the almonds to a fine powder.
2. Transfer the almond powder to a bowl.
3. Add the milk powder, cocoa powder & cardamom powder. Mix well and set aside.
4. In a pan, heat water and jaggery powder until the jaggery melts completely.
5. Cook the jaggery mixture on high heat until it reaches the right consistency. To test this, drop a small amount of the mixture into a bowl of water at regular intervals. When the drop crystallizes, it's ready.
6. At this stage, immediately add the dry ingredients to the jaggery mixture.
7. Add ghee and then mix well.
8. Pour the mixture into a lined aluminum tin, spreading it evenly and smoothing the top.
9. Apply silver vark on top, and let it cool completely before cutting.
10. Once cooled, remove the barfi from the tray and cut it into your desired shape and size.
11. Garnish with toasted halved almonds and enjoy!

Hello maam! Made this today....turned out to be super yum and my 5year old daughter loved it❤its soo healthy... just need 1 suggestion it became very dry after adding jaggery syrup and was not coming to the texture shown in the video i had to blend it again in the mixer

Can we use chopped jaggery instead of jaggery powder? By the way it is looking very easy and I like the concept of using jaggery instead of sugar. Also I love almonds so this combination of almond burfi with jaggery is just wow!
Yayy so glad to hear that. Yes you can use grated jaggery but use the slightly darker variety and not the one that is used to make chiki as that will alter the texture ❤

I have some requests please make a video on how to make digestive biscuits,cream biscuits eggless without using cream but healthy cream filling like butter & then add something to make the filling healthier & it will be great if you can upload recipes on horlicks, bournvita,complan,boost with all healthy & natural ingredients but these commercial ones which are being sold in the shops have many unhealthy ingredients so I was thinking why not make these health premix at home with natural & healthy ingredients so that I can give it to my son without any fear
