    See I was under the impression I had to feed it through fast and had to drag it with my hands on the backside of my machine. Thanks for this :)

    How do you stop sewing shrinkage in the seam? Especially large fabric pieces or heavy fabric? Linda

    • @SailriteDIY
      @SailriteDIY  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Linda, You can't stop it, but you can sometime reduce it. So, when sewing long fabric pieces you need to provide extra length before sewing, so when it shrinks up you still have the desired finished size. Here is a great video on that subject: th-cam.com/video/v9jKANRy0LA/w-d-xo.html I hope this helps, Eric

      @@SailriteDIY Hi Eric, thanks for the video link. All very valid points. I'm not a fan of a shrunk up seam and the body of the article correct length. This will cause bagging and distortion.
      Do you use a fabric feeders that attach onto the back of the machine? If so how good are they? Linda

      @@lindadawber5667 Sewing machines with fabric feeders (rollers) behind the needle feed, help to pull in heavy assemblies. When sewing large sails they can be helpful, but we do not use them as they are usually used a very large sewing machines.
