    Being a Humvee tour driver in Sedona, I took people up that terrible road on tours. Way back in the day when hippies roamed the earth, they camped all over up that Canyon so Sedona made it a law that there was no camping. Not sure how they get away with it because it is actually national Forest. Once you get to the top of the road with a lookout is you can camp there legally and there are various small spots. At the lookout where you were, there was a scene in a movie taken at that exact location in that Chevy Chase movie where they skidded to a stop when they find out the aunt is dead. Also you may have noticed when you cross the bridge coming down the long hill from Sedona next to the Mexican market, you may have noticed a prominent home up on the hill with a manikin on the lanai or balcony. Lucille Ball used own that home and the manikin used to look just like her but I noticed is starting to fade with old age

    Hey guys! Great content. Quick ? Does wind affect your tent and awning really bad? To the point that it's hard to sleep? I have a newer roofnest and that thing is so loud when it's windy. Also wondering how the wind affects your awning. Thanks in advance.

    • @IndependenceOverland
      @IndependenceOverland  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Alucab is solid as a rock in the wind quite honestly. I always park with the wedge into the wind if I can, so it ramps right over the top. The awning I almost always loosely put away at night if it’s even remotely windy, because I know otherwise I’ll get paranoid in the middle of the night and have to get up to close it.
      To help mitigate wind noise, take a tip from this video I put up. It applies to all tents.

  • @theconchonetwork498
    @theconchonetwork498 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    It looks like you are out on County Road 525 a little west of Sedona, I parked my motorhome out that way for almost 5 years but never saw anything suspicious in the sky. Even though I was a Humvee tour driver, giving tours to the various vortex locations which are not where you are, telling stories about the secret military underground bases in secret Valley up the Sycamore Canyon. If you'd like to go to a real designated vortex just head to the top of the mesa were the little airport is located, halfway up you will see a bunch of tourist parked and walking up a ways, and that's where the vortex is. Kinda reminds me when I was a tour driver in the state of Hawaii, we would tell the tourist that there would be a curse on them if they remove the lava rocks as souvenirs, the real reason we said these things was we didn't want have to gather all the left behind rocks on the bus

    I live in Prescott and I saw a whole fleet spheres at least fifty of them in a Chevron formation vertical.. they were about the size of cars metallic grey it made absolutely no I've seen what I thought was satellites make ninety-degree turns also in cave Creek. But seeing all these spheres together I knew and I know they are real and I was glad that someone else was with me and witnessed it at the same time. They were no higher than 200ft and they went straight down Gurly street like the main street in Prescott. And your theory about the vortex being use as draining our energy is a pretty good theory. I agree with you on that.

    My brother was once on a trip with his buddy through Canada. At some point when they were sleeping just in their sleeping bags in the middle of the vast and wild forests they could hear massive wood crack in their surroundings. And you know how you can tell it's size and distance by the intensity of the soundwaves. They could tell that it was actually not just a branch of a tree that has been cracked by an elk or a bear. The material must have been as thick as a tree. Like last year I happened to stumble across bigfoot sightings/experiences and now I'm pretty sure that it was that what was sneaking up on them. If anybody is curious check out "The Facts by how To Hunt". It's an outdoors/hunting guy who's channel is a place where anybody can get a reach for their paranormal experiences. Just reading the comments is a huge pile of really strange experiences and super interesting.
    Check out this Great Lakes(note the "sneaking fear moment"!) and espacially the Chiliwack story (note his "fight or flight" physiology revealing choice of words and how deeply this experience changed him, even towards his beloved hobby of being outdoors "rv parks are as outdoorsy as it gets these days for me").

      Payloads on most modern vehicles is crap in the US. Whats interesting is a lot of these same vehicles can be signed off on in other countries for more. For instance, the Fj can get an upgraded lift, similar to what I have and be legally allowed to around 2800lbs. I'd be curious what my Fj with the massive rear axle could be rated to somewhere like Australia. The new 4th Gen Tacoma will be a fully boxed frame, and share a lot with the Hilux again, as well as the Landcruisers. It should be a much more impressive truck.

    Great video as always.
    I'll leave you with this: autokinesis: A visual illusion in which a stationary source of light appears to move.

    You're not angry that you aren't allowed to camp because someone else did something? You should be angry. Imagine not being allowed to drive downtown because someone else had used an FJ to rob a bank. The people purporting to "close" public lands are exceeding their authority. They aren't government lands; they are public lands.

    Bipedal Pigs trashing areas and causing closures! Really makes me angry. 40 years ago I would see trashed destinations and we would haul it out. 40 years of education against this and it still happens. Grrrrrr!!!!!

      They were extremely high end. I did find used ones for around 2k that were the exact same googles.

    this whole vid is quite exaggerated bs! and you guys just pulling off the road s why camping is so limited in Sedona……you are damaging soil that takes DECADES to recover. You want to “overland”……go to Utah!

      We literally never just pull off the road, everywhere we pulled into was once a campsite or is a campsite. You have no clue what your talking about.
