I was eight when my mother got the BBC play it on a Saturday morning in 1962. This is a truly splendid version. I’m still 16 BTW ( at least in my head)!
It is a great pleasure to listen to your perfect guitar, bass guitar, rhythm guitar and drums. My big compliments to these young musical talents !!! Beautiful songs from the sixties. You can also hear the musical songs. My great idol, this place 2nd next to Elvis Presley. Thanks young Girls !!!!
I used to hear this on the radio when they played Golden Oldies on weekends when I was a kid in S Africa. Hearing it brings me back to blazing summer sunshine! Thanks, girls!
I always say..you cannot beat the original,,,This comes very close...!!I was eleven years old when this track by The Tornados topped the charts on both sides of the Atlantic in the early 60s.Ive heard all the diff versions, this is by a country mile...THE BESTSuperb guitar playing and the drummer, any praise is a complete understatement!!
This the first version of "Telstar" that I heard done by an all-female group! Waay cool! Keep on boldly going, ladies -- and live long and prosper, too!😊
Yes a very good cover , it was written by the late great Joe Meek from my home town of Newent Gloucestershire UK a lovely family . There was a movie made a few years called Telstar Man.
I started playing Telstar in the late sixties and used,as Joe Meek did, a Clavioline. These are first class musicians and their sound equals any other band. Telstar is great on guitar or keyboard. Better lookers that the Tornados!!! My version on here TELSTAR BYRON ELWELL
Bravo !! One of the best instrumentals ever written down, and you did it flawlessly...!! Add a Ross-10, or a G12 Rolland, or even an old timey Clavoline and you would rival anyone else's version since the original Tornados made such a hit from this song. Keep up the good work !!
What would Joe Meek make of this? He’d love it is what he’d do. Now if they all dressed like the Shadows in black suits white shirts etc but that’s asking too much and is more me harking back to the music I love so much. Exceptional band I just love them and would certainly pay to watch them!
If I remember correctly, this recording was the first use of the Moog (sp?) syntesizer which was appropriate for the title of our first telecommunication satellite, Telstar.
It was a Clavioline! They came with brackets to fit them on piano's, to give a pianist a new dimension in sounds and technique.. left hand playing percussiveley, right hand playingwith the same light smooth touch continuously! It was the forerunner of the later electronic organs.. £600 in 1960's..average price.. all the working mens clubs in the northeast of the UK.. changed from Drums, Piano, and Double Bass, sometimes Accordion and Fiddle... to Drums and Organ.. and even later... no Drums at all!... built in Rhythm Units!.. Then Rock n Roll Groups.. (NOT BANDS!).. came along... and changed the music scene! I once repaired a church Clavioline, in the very early 1960's,stripped it out to the bare chassis, it was full of dead mice... (!). spiders, and oxidation on the Busbars and key contacts. a good clean up, and it was as good as Joe Meek's!!!! Happy days...
I’m 66 and this is what I grew up with...so glad to see these talented young ladies appreciate and perform those classics so well!
Me too.....got chills when I heard it......my body is getting old...but my spirit is still 16yrs.
I was eight when my mother got the BBC play it on a Saturday morning in 1962. This is a truly splendid version. I’m still 16 BTW ( at least in my head)!
Lots of intense and relentless strumming from the rhythm guitarist to drive the band along with the drummer. Excellent job!
EXCELLENT 👍. That drummer killed it!!!!

Love it !!! This was the first record I ever bought in 1962. The best live version I’ve ever heard !
I bought it also.....LOVED this song whether the Tornados or the Ventures did it. CLASSIC!!
Thank you for keeping TELSTAR alive!! I have always loved this beautiful song. You are great!!
They captured the true spirit of original sound by the tornados... Bravissime...
Zoe is a special player! The entire band sounds amazing.
Always worth a listen, these four!
It's a guitar version and good. The original with the clavioline (organ sound) is obviouslty the unsurpassable original though.
Well done girls,a great version of one of all time favourite instrumentals
This the first version of "Telstar" that I heard done by an all-female group! Waay cool! Keep on boldly going, ladies -- and live long and prosper, too!😊
Ladies, this is fantastic. Very close to the original sound by the Tornados. A job well done. Glad I found this.
Fantastic version! Got here entirely by accident - but I'm glad I did.
Really good band. I remember when Telstar was launched. :) 1962.
I cant get enough of these amazing ladies

I started playing Telstar in the late sixties and used,as Joe Meek did, a Clavioline. These are first class musicians and their sound equals any other band. Telstar is great on guitar or keyboard. Better lookers that the Tornados!!! My version on here TELSTAR BYRON ELWELL

Best cover of Telstar ever. I can imagine some UFO pilot cruising over California and hearing that playing on the radio of his flying saucer.

To pull this off without the use of keyboards is amazing.
Hey, I really enjoyed this! Thank you-you're all very talented.
Nice cover of the Shadows' cover :) (Original by The Tornados of course, but I like what the Shadows did with it)
Definitely as good as the tornadoes great musicianship by all, and a hard working kick ass drummer for sure
Great cover! Last time I heard this was in 1972 with a Filipino band.
Hey, Crickettes... That was Out of This World.
Excellent as usually!!!
THIS WAS A KICK A** JOB ON A 60'S CLASSIC... WELL DONE LADIES!!!
Being a drummer takes a lot of stamina
I hope this band stays together with none of the problems that earlier bands went through.
ça déchire :)
Let me know when you guys are coming over to the Tampa bay area in Florida, from an ex Brummie retired here in Florida. Great work by the way.

The drummer shines on this one!
Frank LeRoux. You said it mate. She's brilliant. Playing this track mostly on the cymbals is inspired
Extra ! Très rapide et enchaînements impeccables, très bon à écouter.....
Solihull in the midlands is the only gig booked out of the south so far keep an eye on our web site.
What country do you live in?
Amazing.
Great version...wish they could perform a longer more soaring version....I think they could do wonders...give it a try !
Bravo les filles ! C'est aussi bien que les Tornados, The Shadows, les Spotnicks, super !!!!!!!!
OK pour ce qu'on entend! Par contre, quelles figures figées, sans un sourire ...
Yes..! Very good.🎸👏👏👏💪💪💪👍👍👍
Bravo !! One of the best instrumentals ever written down, and you did it flawlessly...!! Add a Ross-10, or a G12 Rolland, or even an old timey Clavoline and you would rival anyone else's version since the original Tornados made such a hit from this song. Keep up the good work !!
The ladies are all great but that drummer is fantastic!!
Very good.
these girls are great, why is it i've never heard of them b4 tonite?
Show us closeups of the band!
The lead guitarist plays in notes to the strings on a guitar she don’t have to Sing on any of her music she’s a great guitarist I appreciate her music
What would Joe Meek make of this? He’d love it is what he’d do. Now if they all dressed like the Shadows in black suits white shirts etc but that’s asking too much and is more me harking back to the music I love so much. Exceptional band I just love them and would certainly pay to watch them!
Super ! 😀👍🎸🎸🙏🙏
So good!
Great band , good picking, Mom is CUTE!
If I remember correctly, this recording was the first use of the Moog (sp?) syntesizer which was appropriate for the title of our first telecommunication satellite, Telstar.
No, Telstar is from 62 and from UK, the first Moog came in 64 and in USA.
It was one of the first outings for a synth, that's true.
