DRIVE ON ONE OF THE MOST CHALLENGING ROADS

GC 606 is one of the most challenging roads in Gran Canaria. This is around 12 kms long but it took us more than an hour to drive because of the sharp curves and narrow road. The view was amazing :)

I have been to Gran Canaria 10 times, and the GC 606 is one of the roads I always return to. Fantastic experience every time!
When driving the GC 606, it is important that you constantly look for places to give way along the way. Then you are better prepared if you meet an oncoming driver.

I accidentally ended up on this road today. The first hairpin turns felt like a point of no return. It was a mixed experience, on one hand beautiful, but I also experienced sheer terror. The estimated number of kilometers I could drive on the current tank was initially 500km, but it dropped to below 200 due to all the climbing. Glad I did it, but if I had known this beforehand, I would have chosen a different route.

Same thing happened to us. We were to occupied talking and missed the right road towards Pico de Las Nieves, google rerouted us to this road. It was scary feeling. We drove the other road back. :)
