Testing the Tree Planter - Test #1 & #2

We finally hooked up the Tree Planter to the 1026R and ran it through it paces. I was just using sticks as trees but learned a lot about the planter. I think we are ready for the Christmas Trees to come in a week. Hope you enjoy!!

Looking good! The planter will definitely cut time. For spacing we actually paint our lines like hash marks on a football field. It takes a little more time but the rows are straight as an arrow. You can see the paint line when it comes under the tractor and gets between your feet. Not sure how many your planting, we use this method for 1600 trees. Happy planting!

That sounds like a great idea. I feel like if I get that first row established and correct, I could use that row as a gauge for the other rows. I am small potatoes and only planting 300 trees. At some point I will need to set it up with the planting but just don't know when that is. Once our first trees are ready, I will have 200-300 ready each year. I am maybe 3-4 years ahead of the game. I am just rambling now. Thanks for watching.

A little larger tractor with front wheel assist would be nice, but it looks like you are getting by with this setup. I used one from Ellsworth Co. to plant my windbreak.

6:26 Adding weight to the front will help with traction. I'll grab a bucket full of dirt and drop my 5' box blade and the 5 rippers 8" deep. Also 4 low, if you weren't there already.

Rear wheel weights are available as well as beat juice ballast in the tires.
