I love the idea of a collection of videos that use up scrap fabric - please keep the videos coming. Can I make some suggestions? A bag to hold an umbrella when it is still wet (maybe it could have a towelling lining), re-useable make-up removal pads (also using an old towel perhaps), a book or Kindle sleeve, travel tissue holder, sleep eye mask, cord keepers (something to wrap around charging cords so they do not get tangled), coaster/mug rug and a cat toy that has some cat nip in it. Sorry, was that a bit much - I got a bit carried away?! 🤣
Haha, not at all Linda. You'll find the pocket tissue holder video and a small how to sew mitred corners video from last week that would be perfect as a mug rug. I'll add the tissue pouch to the scrap playlist. The rest are on my list😄
Fun ideas! Yes, please, on was to use scrap fabric. As a quilter, my scrap bin is always growing. I am making a playlist for 2024 with the plan to get these scraps used up!
Great idea for Christmas! Grandson is a brilliant high school student, so he could definitely a pen holder for books, and my granddaughter is a nurse, so she could hook one to her I.D. lanyard! Thanks for the idea and the instructions. Cannot wait to see what other scrap-buster ideas you come up with.
So happy about the idea of scrap fabric videos! I love working with scraps and friends keep bringing me theirs. I could use some new ideas to use them!
Those are a fun stocking stuffer. My daughter is a published author. She does a lot of research for some of her books. She writes on post it notes and highlights. The version with the elastic is perfect. It could be used as a bookmark as well. ❤
What a fun project. And thank you for explaining and showing how to make it for people like myself, who can easily get mixed up during a sewing session.
This idea is so good. I have a note book that I keep constantly by me, and if that pen doesn’t constantly get away from me…I will definitely be making this one soon! ❤❤❤
I love the pen pouch and have made about 11 of them already. I have been buying inexpensive pens and notebooks to go with them and they are the best gift idea. Fast and easy! Thanks!!
I do outdoors sketching, have you done a waist bag? I also brought a wrist band with a pocket in it for my rubber and pencil sharpener. People use toweling wrist bands to wipe the excess water off their brush whilst painting in watercolor outside. I thought you might be interested in such items for your shop. Which you could advertise as really useful artist helpers, or something like that. I paid a fortune for a Sendak artist roll. I think artists would be very interested in things to organize and departmentalize the goods they need to take around with them. Best wishes Phyllis.
I have done a waist bag with two pockets that you can wrap around, wear as a crossbody, or clip to your belt loops. You could modify that to suit. th-cam.com/video/mVYHt1IGEcE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=J0KExVSpmFXIErDX We have an artist group in town that may be interested in your idea. Thank you 😁
I like to make stockings with several little gifts for my "children." The youngest is 8 and the oldest (if you include hubby) is 73. So I am thinking every one will get one of these. I have a lot of colored elastic I can use.
All of my bags has a clip to attach keys, chap stick holders/feminine hygiene holders, and sunglass pouches. I make sure all my pouches can be attached to any place on a backpack. So many younger people carry backpacks, it's easier to have a hook so things don't sink to the bottom 😅
@@ChristinesHomeAffairs I add one inside the bag. I make sure that lanyards and key fobs have a clasp to use either in the bag or their backpacks. I made toiletry bags with a wristlet, and a lobster clasp to snap their keys/key card to. It was my daughter's idea. She was in highschool, then college..."Mom, do you know how to..." You know those questions, I'm sure. If I didn't, I hopped on TH-cam and figured it out. 🙂
I love using my scraps, and always welcome new ideas for that 😊 I also have been thinking we need rows of rings or hooks/ clasps inside our bags to find everything. Could you please make a video showing how? Best regards from wintery Norway 💕
@@ChristinesHomeAffairs yes I think. Ore time is something we all need spare time would also be wonderful, we seem to get less and less if that, I have been retired nearly 7years as seen to have less time these days than when I was working and helping look after grandchildren and our two mums, who we sadly no longer have with us. You just look after yourself as well.
I am in the middle to preparing to make some of these for my nephews. I want to make it pencils for one side and an icy pole on the other side. Would I just sew those 2 sides to the other piece then assemble the whole thing? It sounds good in my brain but not sure it will work. I'm trying to make things to sell and I think small items sell better than large. I makes quilts but nobody understands the time or money involved in creating a beautiful homemade quilt
It's very difficult to recover costs with quilts Barbara. I'd try adding the other pocket to the top side, on top of the other pocket, then place the backing over it. Might be a little fiddly though😀
You did it again!! Thank you. My son has doctor’s appt next week and I want to sew something instead of giving chocolates or cookies for gift. Between the specialists and their staff, I’m thinking I need to make about 20+ gifts. How perfect is this for people who need pens anyway? (I’ll just include a cheap pen to show what they’re for)
If you enjoyed this video & feel like giving something back to the channel, you can do that here..... www.buymeacoffee.com/stitchthisr

They sure are. I've even made one for myself😀
Yes, especially if you made a lanyard. Hands free❤
Icy pole? I laughed so hard, in the USA it's just a freezer pop. I like icy pole better. thank you Christine, happy sewing. You made my day.
Haha, that's so funny Barbara. I wondered when I said it, if they're different in other countries. 😄
Yeah a scrap buster series, cannot wait to follow with all of your ideas,
I'm looking forward to it too Faye😀
I have a lot of leftover elastic from doing masks. So I tried this project with mask elastic and it works great. Thank you for the inspiration.😊
That' a great idea Melanie. I had lots of that left over too. Hope never to make another mask again😁

This will be perfect for beginners Leticia😀
Love that! & the idea of having multiple ones w/o digging in your purse!
I can see a time when we are all getting around with a bag full of dangly bits on the inside Nita😀
I love this. What a great idea with the swivel clip. We call "Icy Poles" "Mr. Freezes" in Canada.
So cool! Thanks Debbie 🙂

Haha. Same here today Christine. Hot yesterday, rainy and cold today 🙂

It does make a great bookmark Sharon😀

They certainly would Janet😀
Yes please to more scrap busters - great idea and in the uk we call icy poles ice pops 😊

Wow, you've been very busy Nicola. These make great gifts fo so many people😀
@ChristinesHomeAffairs all my friends are getting them this year!

Brilliant as always. Slightly shorter they could be used for nail files😁. Thank you Christine i will be making some for Christmas gifts❤
That's a great idea Venetia 😀
Hi,brilliant video thank you.
Have you ever made a glasses holder/case to hang off a lanyard ,think they would be fab idea
I haven't yet Jo, but it's on my list😀
Thats great can you show us how to make the elastic pen holder with a zipper.
That's been on my list Clair. Hope to get on to it soon😁
Could you please do a video on glasses case done with the same as theone with elastic but has round corner on the front
Thanks you for all vidèos
I'll add it to the list Norma😁

Hi Christine
Would you consider making a luggage tag?
It's been on my list for a while now Rhea
Look forward to watching it in the near future 😃

I'll definitely be making a bag where we can hang everything Anne. It'll be a fun project😀
Christine, I love the idea of hanging a pen holder inside a tote bag (for example) but what would you hook it to?
Gilda, you'd have a bag full or D rings. I really must make one soon😁
I love these but I'm wondering if I can make something slightly similar to put on my sewing machine to hold my scissors!!!!
Deborah, you could probably do it with a snap on the elastic or even some velcro😁
Simple but good idea isn’t it. Maybe you should make a few before Xmas, maybe great for stocking fillers, for all ages.
Oh Karen. If only I had the time. I'm struggling to keep up with my regular stock. May need to give up my nanna naps😁
