I am actively looking to buy a new luxury SUV. Unfortunately, I am 6’-5” tall. I prefer the X5 but after I get comfortable in the front seat there is very little second legroom remaining for my kids. The Audi does not have this problem!

I've got one of these...and they are an absolutely phenomenal car! I've owned alot of really nice cars, and alot of really quick cars...but not one of them have I truly fallen in love with like the Q7...which is funny as the reason we got the Q7 was because the wife wanted a 7 seater...and I was like "well if we are getting a big old boring people mover...its atleast going to be nice to sit in"....The way it pours on speed, and I do mean POURS on speed is so smooth and effortless, Almost like a 747...it just never stops pulling. If you do end up grabbing it by the scruff of the neck and burrying its face into a corner...it livens up and ends up being more agile than much smaller, lighter cars.
I cant see myself owning any other SUV to be honest.
I am surprised the one you are driving didnt have the 360 camera though, given the other options it was fitted with.

Video is Spot on, Just traded my 17 Range rover Sport for a Q7 Prestige Special Edition, and owning a Porsche Cayenne Prior and must say I truly enjoy the drive of the Q7 over the RR and Porsche even though the q7 does feel smaller in terms of road presence it handles and drives phenomenal more like a Car rather than a SUV, the air suspension probably best I’ve ridden in, road noise is non existent and bumps are well absorbed.. adaptive cruise is a must have for the long trips.. the diamond stitched seat upgrade with full bolster adjustability is wonderful, massage seats anyone ?
The Bang and Olufsen upgrade is a must have.. Plenty of power with the 3 litre supercharged engine that the car does not feel heavy considering it weighs 5000 lbs Overall I would say go drive one with all the options you won’t be disappointed. I am not biased in any way, just great value for the money! Hope it helps , cheers .

I've test driven this vehicle. It's "AMAZING!" IMO. I fell in love with it as soon as I got in. I had no idea they were this good. The price wasn't right at the time so the dealer won that battle, but not the war. I'm still looking for one at the right price.

Just picked up a 2019 Q7 45 Tdi Black edition. Only drove it for 2 hours and had to go overseas, so looking forward to driving her when I get back home. Stunningly smooth, has great response from the engine and 7 seats too!

Really well done review. I absolutely love my 2017 Q7, I managed to get 50mpg on a drive to Heathrow about a 60 mile trip, I was by myself en-route to collect family. On the way back it was low 40s which for a big lump like the Q7 is amazing

I’m a BMW man through and through, and it’s top of my current shortlist.
    XC90 - beautiful, but I’m not having a 7 seater with a 4 cylinder
GLE - at this price point you get the old one which is a rebadged ML so shit tech
X5 - tough, but I’d only want the 2019 model with the B57 engine, that’s circa £40k right now though and this Q7 can be had for 20k now

The intro sums it up. BMW more sporty, Volvo more roomy, mercs more flashy. But this is one of the few 3 row luxury suvs that strikes a good balance of room but not being too big, sporty but not harsh.

Love the review and agree with all your comments. There is one thing about my Q7 2014 which is good to be aware of before driving. It is a magnet for gutter rash on the rims. This is from a combination of the dissection of where the wheel is by the crease on the bonnet and by the very low profile tyres. So if you take care with this then everything is fine. Love it and have a A5 2014 cabriolet which is even better to drive. Quality is top notch. André in Sydney

Owned a Q7 4M (272) like the model in this video and honestly it was one of the best cars I've owned.
For everyday life, it did everything, from travelling around to hauling family/friends it was so capable and comfortable. Would 100% recommend the air suspension, I also had and used very frequently the adaptive cruise control (and wing mirror warning indicators for blindspot) it was a beast for our regular 300-mile trips.
We traded straight into a brand new 21-plate A5 Sportback S-Line (40TDI quattro) and while that was a fine car, I've missed the Q7 ever since. Currently fishing for a 4M SQ7 as honestly the dash design is just a pleasure to use, real buttons and looks great. As mentioned in the video the touch everything in the later Q7's is _nice_ but just fingerprint city and when driving the manual buttons/dials of this model were so easy to use.

@@Plugber@Plugber Good question; after a while of ownership, we noticed the coolant level started to drop. It turned out that there was a seal that required changing; luckily, Audi covered it all under the warranty, as I understand it's a fairly big/expensive process (at a main dealer). Aside from that, it was rock-solid, pulled like a train and gave up to 40mpg on 300 mile runs with a heavier right root.

    • @TheNikavashnika
      @TheNikavashnika ปีที่แล้ว

I've been researching mk2 pre-facelift Q7 TDI and T(FSI) engines and from what I gathered, the 3.0 gasoline supercharged is the way to go. It seems to be far better at reliability, it's more powerful and refined. The only common fault with it seems to be the water pump and thermostat, which are common things to replace anyway. Unfortunately they are a supercharger off job, so might be a bit expensive, but hey - if you're buying a Q7 you should expect expensive. Only downside is fuel consumption, but I've decided to go for it since diesels have so many potential issues.
