Great to see you used my wheel video! Now we should come up with a game where you guess the use of an ancient object. I can supply photos, and if you really want to come on a dig, let's go!
Heck yes! I'd watch this 😎👍
It would make for a great video on the Rhett & Link main channel too! That would be so cool
Everyone should like this guys comment to make this happen!
Love when Dr. Hafford unexpectedly pops up in my TH-cam feed. Go Quakers!
Everyone bump this!
Rhett and link are the type of people that would call any game console a Nintendo
My parents are the same, but with Playstation.😂
My dad and Uncle were BIG into the PS1, and so every console that comes around gets confused for some "newest playstation."
GMM: “they look so youthful!” More: “they’re a thousand years old.”
The straight disrespect of the gamecube controller 😭
Literally one of the best controllers of all time.
I know right was an epic console. SSB Melee
The best controller ever, IMHO. The Wavebird wireless controller...chef's kiss.
My favourite console of all time. The GC controller is a work of art, especially the wireless one.
CG was so good I even used the controller for Wii
When the world needed Travor the most, he vanished
He defected to the other company!
@victorbt8949 No, he didn't. He's still doing mythical kitchen videos.
@@awmclin2 He's two-timing!!?
(This is just a joke)
Matt’s joke about the internal memory card had me absolutely dying
As someone who is the same age as these two but knew exactly what each of these controllers was for and what order they would go in this hurt A LOT🤯
I still have 6 of the controllers pictured in my house today (as well as several not shown)
Once again Carnie with the absolute full house knowledge.
Now let's ask how old they are after not knowing what a Switch is.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
It's the DS that all the kids have now
67
I was surprised they didn't get that one immediately, given they had a video playing Mario Kart Home Circuit in the studio and another where they turned a Joy Con into a knife
😂😂😂😂@@austingregory1443
This has a very “Teens trying to use a rotary phone” feel to it.
I 'liked' during the continuation of Matt's bit. *chef's kiss*. Pleasant juxtaposition of Rhett's Eiffel Tower/Olympic Medal bit.
I was really hoping the oldest thing in the was gonna be just somethin like "here's Josh. He was the oldest thing in the kitchen when we looked"
Oh my god, I thought the exact same thing. lol
Josh is gone 😔
@@NopeNope-gnos The butt boils got him :(
@@NopeNope-gnos Say what? Really? D:
@@Silvercanth just temporarily. They say it's to tend to his butt boils on MK, it's unclear what the actual reason is
Oh man, they found a sealed bottle of pre-pandemic Sriracha? That stuff is a rarity these days!
Did I miss something?
Omg the struggle they had trying to remember what the Nintendo switch was called 😂
Main episode: I can't believe how young we're perceived
More episode: *handed a Dreamcast controller*
N64 controller: "This is like 20 years old" Closer to 30, now lol.
Rhett and Link are exactly the right age to pretty much know all of these. How do they not know anything?
Married young, so not gamers.
Not a lot of time for gaming when you're busy building a media empire.
They have a life and don't play videogames.
But they knew quite well
North Carolina
As a SEGA fanboy it was very funny hearing your thoughts on the Dreamcast and Saturn controllers.
I inherited an Intellivision from my dad that he played when he was young and I had a lot of fun growing up retro gaming on that system.
14:20 My favorite episode of Full House! I loved the concept of amnesia when I was little.
There was another episode where they were both in the show at the same time where Jesse was imagining there were multiple Michelles when he was overwhelmed.
I have a Wii, and it still works. I play it sometimes, but I mainly play GameCube games on it because I don’t have an actual GameCube (Also, I love to use the GameCube Controller for Smash Bros. Brawl and Smash Bros. Ultimate! I have a wired controller for my Wii and a wireless one for my Switch)
Honestly, seeing guys from my generation being naïve to what these controllers are is actually surprisingly very refreshing
Them baffled by the GameCube controller for some reason was hilarious 😂
I was actually at FOB Adder for a few months of my 15mo combat deployment to Iraq almost 20 years ago. Despite driving by the Ziggurat of Ur on a daily bases, I never got to see it up close. I spend most of my time outside the wire getting blown up. Wish I had a chance to tour it as well.
I also had basically the same experience with Goldeneye as Rhett. I've basically never played anything else on the N64 mainly because my friends would just invite me to play 4 on 4 Goldeneye and just destroy me, so I gave up on it.
And now you can do that on the switch this year 😂
@@JeskidoYT Great, I can look forward to my kids destroying me at Goldeneye!
I will never unsee a n64 controller as a udder anymore.... 😂
From a Miltank. 🤣
If you ever forget how old they are, this video is the perfect reminder.
when the playstation was just released I heard people talking about it and I thought they were talking about a police station toy
I think I thought something similar. I can't remember exactly what I thought it was, but a video game system didn't cross my mind.
As a gamer, this was painful to watch 😭😂
That's how I felt watching 😅
@@stylewithaltitude R & L are just lucky I love them! Lol
So painful, so “utterly” painful 😅
This sh1t hurt 😂
this is the difference of these guys being young Gen Xers at 46, and me and old millennial at 42. I grew up with and still play all of these. lol.
" Thanks for that education...... Nap time !" 😂🤣 20:26
The PlayStation 2 controller will be on the Mount Rushmore of gaming controllers.
It's on the mount rushmore of gaming controllers but definitely not the peak. The joysticks are too close to each other.
For me it’s the GameCube
I'm 43 and knew all of these, as I've lived through all these systems. I'm sure they would have too if they were active gamers
I'm in 40's and knew them all too. Easy for even a casual gamer.
8:11 sometimes their lack of knowledge hurts my soul 😂
How do thay have a degree 🤣🤣🤣
And how Thay have a college degree 😅😅😅
@@davidfield6223Oh yeah, why didn't they go to game controller school like normal people?
@@critsandgiggles5342 Thay whent engineering
I remember watching that series finale of Full House!
LISTEN I WAS ALSO THINKING ABOUT THAT EPISODE OF FULL HOUSE!!
I love how Rhett will say the wrong answer with such confidence 😂
9:30 oooooooooo....... Yeah people aren't gonna like that
I feel like this lineup is missing important game controllers, like the various xbox controllers, NES, SNES, Sega Master System, Sega Genesis, Atari 2600
I remember the episode Carney is talking about where one of them was visibly taller than other
I'm also a 36 year old woman who loved Tony hawk, 😂
I liked the Full House facts 😂 we need Link to be a bit more supportive.
I could have sworn Link got a donation to Inner City Arts last week or the week before. Hmmm
the Spielberg controller does look like the Millennium Falcon
11:51 I’ve had my Gamecube since I was in middle school. My super cool Uncle Chris gifted it to my sister & I. Now I have it in my home and my little family play it at least once a month. Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros, & Mario Party 5. It’s the best😎😎😎
This is the opposite equivalent of those videos where people ask kids if they know what a VHS and CD player is.
Whoever designed the Ps2 controller should be consulted on all future decisions toward designing anything... The world would be a better place.
Why? All he did was copy the PS1 controller.
I prefer the XBOX controller, but I have huge hands so the offset sticks just feel better. The real G.O.A.T. is the GameCube controller.
I was pleasantly surprised that I knew what all the controllers went to ! I didn’t know what the tv remote looking one went to.. fun reminiscing for each controller ❤❤❤❤
Sega Genesis was called the MegaDrive in the UK
Also here in Brazil. I think it was genesis only in North America
Get Spencer Agnew here RIGHT NOW
The Chosens are crying right now.
Please!
This can only be taken as a targeted attack on xbox no way they just forgot about one of the main consoles😂
That’s what I was saying! And Rhett kept mentioning the Xbox lol.
The best controller, too. Used by medical professional to control robotic surgery tools.
@@FearsomeMedic Not just medical professionals but military also for drones and stuff.
They should have included one
i actually still have n64 controllers, the clear purple and clear green ones; modded to be used for USB so I can play my PC games with it.
Its my favorite controller, right after the GameCube (perfect controller)
We have the purple one and the n64. Actually played it last week😂. And we still have a GameCube lmao. Love it
Praticaly 50 yrs old here, playing since my 4 yrs old... I have this Intellivision, got it at 5! Fun fact: each game came with a plastic card, than the player had to slip in the controller over the buttons! This was letting the player know witch buttons you could use for the game and their function...
Im a huge gamer (been playing since ive been playing pong and i still havent put down the controller) and i was in pain watching this (especially the switch part...i was yelling at the tv "its a switch")...lol
Painfully hard to watch as a gamer 😅
Sega Dreamcast was my first and favorite just like my English teacher in which grade I’ll never specify
As someone who has all these consoles/controllers, don’t you dare disrespect my GameCube controller 🤣😭
I just wanted to say I am exactly the same age as you two and I have never felt older than today watching you not know what these controllers are. 😂 (To be fair I am a video game developer so I have a slight advantage here).
I understood the Full House reference. Were old.
I appreciate Matt’s Full House bit lmao
The game cube controller 😢
The best one in my opinion
Rhetts right they honestly haven't improved on the PS2 controller, basically every controller since has just been a derivative of it.
They perfected it with the ps5, but yeah, same idea
The PS3 was a little bit of improvement. It was slightly more comfortable and the dual shock was improved. Plus it had Bluetooth wireless connectivity.
Wrong the PS2 controller design started with the PS1 DualShock controller. Those also had analogs. This controller is a PS1 controller without the analogs. So technically they're a derivative from the PS1 design.
I was very confused when you said it was derived from the ps2 when clearly... that came from the ps1 🤔
Except the ps5 controller. Completely redesigned
At this point, can we assume that GMM hates the Arts? ROFL! Luckily they are saved by loving and helping children...
Rhett and Link just made me feel a little bit younger today. Thank you.
Fairchild Channel F released 1976
Atari 2600/VCS released 1977
Intellivision released 1979
And how do thay have a college degree 😅😅😅 in engineering
Magnavox Odyssey 1972
@@davidfield6223 Engineering doesn't require knowledge of video came consoles... it's more about math, really.
My brother still has my dad's old Intellivision and it does still work!
Rhett immediately with the N64 answer surprised me. They both seemed to understand how design conventions evolved, probably why they were relatively close with release order.
I was sure they’d have to be identifying them blindfolded or something-just looking at the controllers and not knowing is absolutely wild.
I had all of these systems with the exception of PlayStations and the intelevision. I was a Sega and Xbox gamer.
Those are the ones I haven't played I was too young for Sega and just didn't have any Xbox consoles. I was a PlayStation, Nintendo, and PC gamer.
It’s downright CRIMINAL that they never got to the absolutely amazing VMU feature of the DreamCast. They talked the WHOLE time about that window, and the answer is amazing… it’s a tiny pocket game boy that’s also a memory card, and it plays its own games. R&L would have LOVED that. That’s its own freakin video.
Lmao grumpy and tired such a mood and relatable lol
0:53 Rhett says "Iraq" like Dubya
I was really waiting for a "dressage à trois" joke
"Put it down there with the weird one" 😂😂😂
Intellivision was awesome and groundbreaking!!!
Any other gamers found this painfully hard to watch? 😅
The 'This might be YOUR charity part' had about a similar result as when in some war movie someone talks about their loving family/partner.
Ergonomically, the current Xbox controllers are peak controllers
They are too small for my taste
Man it shows you guys don't have anyone over 32 in that building to reminisce with
Do people sit around reminiscing about video game controllers?
I had a PS1 and it definitely had joysticks. This must’ve been some very early release PS1 controller.
It was the release controller for ps1 with the first model. These were the controllers when triangle was still the back button
@@SaturnSatyr Whoah, never heard of that. I Definitely didn’t have the early ps1. Thanks for the info.
I am a lifelong gamer and I repair video game consoles for a living so watching this was torture for me! 😂
I only knew five of these controllers!! the other ones were a total
blank to me. LOL.
Being raised as a console gamer since our Intellivision when I was kid, this hurt to watch. Lol
Fun Fact: Expiration Dates are random (sorta). In fact legally, the only requirement for expiration dates is for baby food and medications. So yeah. Seven year old Sriracha would be just fine. Especially if you consider that it was still sealed.
My best friend had a Colecovision, it had a baseball game that was really great for the time. I feel like that's all we ever played on it.
It’s funny to me that it’s technically the Connecticut Leather Company-vision.
Thank you for having Sega Dreamcast controller !!!!!! its my favourite console hehe
Intellivision baseball was hilarious to play
I was born 92' and i felt old, but this episode told me that " you are not THAT old! "
Having sega stuff on there is cool because they always had wacky controllers
there was also Coleco-vision just a little after Intellivision
They've been living under a rock last 30 years.
From the preview on the main, I could tell the order immediately.
What’s really showing their age is not knowing it’s a Nintendo switch 😂😂😂
I am not a console gamer anymore, but even I got most of these right. The only ones I didn't know were the Sega Saturn (knew it was Sega though) and intellivision. Oh, I also got the order wrong, and thought for some reason the N64 came before PS1.
Side note: I really should had known that was the Sega Saturn controller as it's pretty much the only Sega console I have never played (unless you count before SMS). But then again, I always forget that the Sega Saturn even existed lol. And yet for some reason I remember Sega Neptune which was never released.
My gamer soul hurt when no one knew the GameCube or Dreamcast 😂 I remember playing Sonic Adventures, that you put the expansion on the controller and saw a little Chao guy as you played.
This pained me to my core 😅
Bold choice going Left to Right
I was about to call foul on the placement of the Saturn 3D controller, but you're - technically - correct (the best kind of correct,) the controller itself was released in 1996, but the Saturn itself was released in 1995.
I feel so old and nerdy for knowing all of these 😂😂
What happened to the other episode they posted. This morning it was ranking the best grocery store meals. I came home from work to watch it and now this is here.
Not where I live, I watched it, was ramdon strangers guessing how old some of their body parts looked, on mythical morning.
Are you sure you weren't looking at your suggestions page?
the Saturn controller looks like that because it was supposed to look like the enterprise ship
Link wore this shirt in a recent episode, me thinks he likes it ❤
