I love how Tony Hawk rather than getting treated like a traditional celebrity is almost like a cryptid. It’s like nobody ever expects to actually see him. You didn’t meet Tony Hawk, it was a Tony Hawk sighting.

Man, Josh is such a damn good interviewer. Watching Tony be stiff for the first like, 5-10 minutes of 'Ok I'm gonna get asked all the generic Tony Hawk questions' to being fully open, relaxed and laughing at it all is amazing. Josh just has that charisma to get everyone talking and open and willing to show their true selves.

Tony is another goat, great choice for the show. One of my fondest memories as a kid was meeting him in 97 at a little expo/demo he did in Cincinnati. My dad took me, he never took me ANYWHERE. I watched him skate for a couple hours (there were quite a few other skaters there too of coarse) and then I waited in line for 30-45 minutes while he took pictures and did autographs. I had this big speech in my head and I was going to tell him how much I loved watching him skate and how much he influenced me, and I was going to invite him to my house to eat a home cooked meal because I knew he had been on the road for a while and when it became my turn I said”ugh ugh c-c-c-could you please sign my hat?” That was it. Tony Hawk had so many influences on my life it's hard to quantify. Not just skating but when he talks about music... Rage Against the Machine getting blasted into my room was my first real introduction into politics and the world as a whole. I remember starting up THPS2 Christmas morning and Guerilla Radio came on and I listened to that song on repeat for days. My parents would have never bought me or let me buy an album with parental advisory. But THPS was the side street to music and culture I had no exposure to. Tony Hawk is forever sealed as my favorite skateboarder and every time I hear him talk I'm reminded of what a good guy he is. Top notch episode and top notch guest. You can see it is hot. You can often see it was made from scratch using techniques and recipes that make it taste amazing. I watch partly for the amazing interview skills and partly because the cooking out shines any cooking show you see on cable TV. Great job team.

I teared up when Tony described the skating environment within the skate park and Olympics...everyone cheering each other. This sport has come so far. What he endured at such a young age and to still be at the top is a testament to his mental health. My love for his commitment to not only the sport but the commitment to enjoying something that someone loves has to be a lesson. So glad that Josh had Tony on. This interview is my favorite. Tony Hawk is a legend. Icon. Tony Hawk will always be an American staple.

Tony hawk is such a legend and so humble. He’s a natural introvert and that shines through but you can tell through his answers how he truly is, he cares about people and his family and the importance of talent justified. He’s literally a god and founder of modern skateboarding and all he wants is to see that live on, he doesn’t want to be known as just some famous guy, he wants to be remembered and be an influence to the people that matter in his element and wants the next generation to thrive and shine and take on the mantle and push the envelope to the next big thing, and that’s the workings of a true genius. Legends never die and Tony Hawk will always be a legend.

His "adding certainty" by having his wife with him is very similar to my reasoning behind tossing my kids high in the air: I tell my wife, "There is a zero percent chance that I fail to catch them, because if there's any chance that I fail, I will; therefore, I've determined that there is not."

Tony’s thoughts on “what do you think happens when you die” is exactly what happened when a family member of mine passed a little over a year ago. The community, friends, family, and even strangers, are all rallying together to build a skatepark in his honor since it was his favorite thing to do. And his life philosophy is the slogan for the campaign, so we can all remember to live like he did ❤

Josh really deserves as much praise as anyone else for being a superb interviewer.
