You guys. *slow clap into thunderous applause* You manage to have us all intrigued, confused, sad, gleeful, and hooked on these episodes and then you bring it all full circle in the end, putting each episode back into question from a new perspective. Now I have to watch the whole thing with the thought that it’s all a fever dream! I love you guys. You make entertainment into something so much more. I’m going down the Wonderhole 😂
But the question is this: If it’s all a fever dream, what’s awake? Are they awake on the island and going crazy? Or was this episode where they’re awake and the fever dream actually started at the end of this episode as Link’s coping mechanism?
90s TV show creators Will McRobb and Chris Viscardi had a checklist for each episode of their show: it had to be funny, sad, strange, and beautiful. I think Rhett and Link must have a similar process.
This was such a strong episode guys. It was incredibly emotional. The home video style clips of Link teaching the kids to drive stick was so grounding and heart warming I replayed it several times. I didn't think i needed it but thank you, truly.
Crazy how emotional I got at the sight of crushing that truck while Link watches something so memorable be thrown away. From crashing it as a dumb teenager to teaching his own teenagers how to drive a stick. It's honestly crazy how excellent these two are at mixing humor and sadness on this channel.
I know! I was sad for the little guy! And kept thinking - it's a CLASSIC, and someone could still use it for years to come! It just needs a new starter!
@@celieneohara521 Nostalgia is always such a big hit to me! I love old cars and trucks for that reason, they hold memories, but this was something Link felt he needed and brought him some closure. It made a great episode to laugh and cry at.
Gosh, the crushed car at the end hit so hard. Just How Bad it could have been, and how lucky y'all were. Realising and accepting the weight of your actions and the consequences and what they were/could have been. This was so incredible, please don't ever stop making this stuff
I have absolutely loved this series. Wasn’t sure what to expect but I am so impressed. It’s made me laugh and cry and the quality of everything from the set designs to the cinematography has been truly outstanding. Bravo to everyone involved.
that ending!!!! i'm always left speechless with you guys, so naturally i dont even know what to say, aside from thank you for creating things like this and keeping youtube alive.
Y’all have managed to use nostalgia in such a genuine and transformative way. I think we often see nostalgia as a cheap tool to draw in consumers, but you two have managed to make it the fuel of real conversion in your and other people’s lives. It is always a pleasure to be invited into y’all’s inner worlds. Glad everyone walked away from that wreck….excepting the gummy versions.
I also think it pays homage to the long time fans who remember all the stories when they told them many years ago. It was hard watching the truck get squished, because it was one of those core stories and has so much meaning. I think it's so special that Rhett and Link are making what they want to make, and making it for those of us who are already fans and who have, "bought in," so to speak. They don't have to tell the story and see if people will find it interesting enough to care or even stay, they are basically old friends saying, "remember that time when...?"
Not the Nissan Truck.. I remember watching Ear Biscuits where Link was reunited with his beloved truck and being so happy for him.. this really was such a huge sacrifice for him and I admire Link for giving it all for this episode! 🚘 💖✨

The ear biscuits episode mentioned it was a birthday gift to Link from his family, to track it down and give it back to him. It clearly means a lot to him. This whole episode was about him finally having some consequence for that crash and it has come out so emotionally well at the end. Plus, the car is clearly dying and he had to get rid of it at some point in future. Why not do it in an artistic episode

This was a really special episode. A great fit for the (sadly) end of Season 1. What a journey to go on with Link, as he comes to terms with a story that has been told comedically several times over the years, but made so real at the actual location with the people involved. Did I cry at the final goodbye? Yes maybe I did

The way you guys convey nostalgia for where you're from hits me so hard. I grew up in a nowhere speck of a town in rural Alabama. I live hours away now. Seeing you guys go home is kinda like seeing myself when I go home. It feels like yesterday, but also a whole other lifetime. Yall do such an amazing job at encapsulating the stages of life. This video takes me back to being a 16 YO guy playing 3 sports and working a weekend job. It reminds me of who I was, but it also shows me how far life has taken me. It's beautiful yet melancholic. It shows you the beauty of where you came from, but also the beauty of where you're going. Life's a journey.
[Spoilers] The implication that the entirety of Wonderhole Season 1 are the "videos" that shipwrecked Rhett & Link thought they were creating on the island with their coconut camera is ABSOLUTELY GENIUS
How do y'all always manage to make me laugh and cry so much during these videos? I literally cried at the truck getting smashed, but then I realized I was crying at a truck full of blowup dolls was getting smashed and it made me giggle again. Well done. Hoping for a season 2. I enjoyed every minute.
I really hope there is a season 2!!! This was fantastic. What a creative way to get to know you guys even more, and a really innovative way to share your past and heal from it. Amazing and well done.
I laughed so hard at the hitting the starter with a rake to get the car to start. I use to have to hit the starter of a tractor with a wrench to get it to start so I understand totally how crazy it is 😂
I need this it be a permanent series. Every episode of this series has been a winner, and every episode has left me reflecting, thinking, and remembering.
Woah, absolutely amazing. Every episode had so much put into it, with so much nuance and "callbacks" to previous things you have shared on the internet before. I am so glad y'all created this. It was so well done, so unique and so genuinely y'all. The production is wonderful, so are the ideas, sets, writing, and everything. I hope you keep making this, as it has brought so much joy to so many people ALREADY( in such a short amount of time)! Please keep sticking with your artistic ideas and sharing them with the world! Thank you, so excited to rewatch and see little parts I missed before! Thank you!!
I just watched this entire series start to finish. I cried, I laughed, but I have to say, the emotion I felt the most was wonder. Rhett and Link, I’ve been watching you since I was like 12, and I have to say, this is the best content I have ever seen you guys produce. It is so well thought out, and emotional, and raw. Best series I’ve seen on TH-cam in a long time. Thanks for never losing love and drive for what you do.
In my mind they never left the island and that’s why it’s all so whacky, unhinged, sleep deprived and delusional while also being incredibly sentimental and touching. Thank you for that little closing scene, it made it all make sense and worth it. I’ll definitely rewatch all episodes again.
19:29 That moment the truck with a bunch of blow-up dolls in the back is sitting in the church parking lot was too funny to see. What a wild ride this has been. I'm sad the series is coming to an end and I hope we get another creative project like this soon. I love that you guys take the leap with creative decisions and go on wild adventures to make the stuff you truly want to make without compromise. Thanks for the journey to the Wonder Hole.
This was a very brave decision made by Link given the memories he had in that truck. The meaning of it is beautiful, the fact he owned up and apologized years later and getting rid of the source no matter how much it meant to him was very moving
im not one to comment on youtube videos a lot but i want to show my support for this series n hope we get a second season at some point. It felt like the summer morning shows i watched as a kid but a bit more adult, a lot funnier and a lot more emotional, thank you for taking a chance to make something genuine and not driven purely by financial gain
My favorite part is imagining you guys putting all of those inflatables into the camera car driving the pick up somewhere then putting all of the inflatables back in the truck just for the shot.
Fun behind-the-scenes, the shot at 23:21 we actually strapped them down and drove across Harnett County a bunch like that! The alien one was gradually getting loose and we were driving behind with tension hilariously building on whether or when it was gonna fly out
Amazing, truly loved it. It always surprises me how y'alls content can evoke emotions out of me. Yeah, something in me broke it feels like in 2020 with my father passing, I'm more emotional by things that are moving than I was before. But I still feel it stands to reason if something can evoke such emotions, it's not just me being a emotional person after a big event in my life. Thanks for always being there for me, truly. You guys have helped me so much through so many years that I don't know what I'd do without y'alls content to look forward to nearly daily (sometimes I forget weekday episodes so I get stuff to watch on the weekend too lol.) Keep on keeping on. Looking forward to more.
You guys did it again! And circled back so perfectly, making it a complete series with that beach scene at the end! Bravo to the writing! Thank you for taking us on this journey!
There's something so beautiful and nuanced in this episode that perfectly encapsulates how life is so much like a story in so many ways. Starting with just making gummy molds and then turning into a remembrance of the past and saying HELLO and GOODBYE to your past you and accepting it is such a strong message that's so raw and conveyed so genuinely because it IS genuine. Wonderhole in a lot of ways feels like the human experience. It shows loss, happiness, sadness, friendship, the past, the present, the future. Arguments, songs. This is what it is to be human. No matter who you are. OR I'm just looking too far into things, idk. Awesome series please make more.
Keep up the amazing work! What an amazing project your two brians have created! It is so nostalgically “Rhett and Link”. I couldn’t be happier with how the series played out! Cant wait for season 2! BYMB
This is by far, and by miles, my favorite thing you guys have ever made. This was so well put together. I'm amazed that each episode managed to bring out some form of emotion from me, I really hope we get a season 2 of this as I cannot overstate just how incredibly enjoyable this was.
My entire heart broke. Both for link and because this was the last episode of the season. What an incredible finale and what a great ending to the episode thank you guys so much for this and for all that you do. I love you guys.
As a recent subscriber to wonderhole, I'll never get over how well they transition from click-baity new gen TH-cam to painfully earnest in every video. While I'm sad this is it for a while, it does give me time to catch up on all the videos I've missed out on.
I'm gonna miss these adventures until season 2 😢 And there had dammed well BETTER be a season 2! 😊 But seriously, I have THOROUGHLY enjoyed my trip down the Wonderhole. Thank you guys! ❤
What a fascinating and cathartic series. With how somber and deep these themes can be, it makes me concerned whether rhett and link are feeling alright? I hope the self reflection comes from a place of wisdom and perspective, not because they're fearing their mortality. Love these episodes, and i see how much work has gone into it!
I love the way this came back around! I've been wondering how the episodes would all tie together. Awesome job!!! I've loved watching them. Thanks, Mythical! 😊
Thank you for all the work that went into wonderhole. I enjoyed every episode, and I cannot wait for more to come! Lots of love to everyone who worked on these videos :-)
i just started watching y'alls content this summer, but i don't think i can say i've ever fallen in love with a youtube channel as quickly and as intensely as i have with this one. i can tell that y'all are so genuinely passionate about the things y'all and work on and that you put everything you have into them while also maintaining your incredibly special bond that you've had with each other, and it is so truly heartwarming. both me and my best friend, whom i met when we were both 4 years old (we're both 20 now), are fans of your work, and Wonderhole definitely helped me revitalize the gratitude i have for her and my own, still healing inner child. i hope you guys never stop creating what you love
Honestly, after watching you guys for several years, I love this content with more of just you two. It was the dynamic duo that got me into GMM and in more recent times, the writing and production of the show has gotten less Rhett and Link, and more GMM crew with every season. I am a fan of y’all’s humor and this series gave me more of the randomness that love about you guys. Keep on keeping on!
I just went down a hole last week of watching Rhett and Link videos from years ago bc I never watched them and now im getting recommended videos from 12 minutes ago lmao nice to see "New" content while i am also watching older content lmao
I didn't see that coming 😮. Now I have to watch everything again to try to see hints of this. Amazing series, and one which might have never been made if things went just a little worse in 1995.
So many feels! What an incredible series for the true fans. Tying back and forth across your entire careers and even farther into your entire lives: Your childhood with Ben, Original songs, The Mythical Show, North Carolina, your vlogs, your tv show, your skits, your families, deep Ear Biscuit-esque conversation, even Carolina Reapers on GMM! I don't even know how to process this
I know I'm just a regular viewer that you two will never know. But I just want to say thank you. You are amazing story tellers and this whole series brought tears to my eyes and full on bouts of laughter. Truly, thank you.
The truck being demolished made me cry. I am a 51 year old woman crying over Link's truck. This whole episode brought back what it is like to be young and everything is just fun and new.
In my head canonically all of GMM /GMMore /GMKitchen are all the desert island hallucinations of a very malnourished Rhett & Link. Therefore Josh isn't real, which make a lot of sense. BUT more importantly Cotton Candy Randy doesn't exist and I have one less thing to fear at night.
This series never fails to amaze me. Watching two grown men reconnect with their past in the most heart wrenching ways is something I’m so grateful that I’m here to see and experience. Rhett and link have been such a huge part of my growing up throughout both the thick and thins and to be here to see them create something they love with these deep stories from their childhood mixed with hilarious plot lines is something I’m forever thankful for. Hey R&L, I listened to your podcast today and it dawned on me how important it is to comment and explain my gratitude for Wonderhole. I love this series. My favorite form of art is when you give someone the tools to go all out with their creative freedom, and Rhett and Link have always been able to amaze me with their creations. It’s not just the absurdity and comedy they come up with, but also how this is clearly something that they are passionate for and deeply love doing! Me too,...I've had cars that we had to hit the starter with a rubber mallet to get it started. 😂
Solenoids are fickle and mercurial.
A three foot piece of half round fence post works well for old tractor starters, I've discovered
I can't believe you guys sacrificed that beautiful little Nissan lol goddamnit
That was their imagination while still on the deserted island...it didn't actually happen. 😂😂😂
@@lisao7600yes but they did actually crush a perfectly nice truck
I cried man
@@lisao7600did you watch the video?! Cause yes it did
Well,it wasn't a Chevy so .....
Only season 1 is over. They'll be back with season 2!
This was a very brave decision made by Link given the memories he had in that truck. The meaning of it is beautiful, the fact he owned up and apologized years later and getting rid of the source no matter how much it meant to him was very moving
What a phenomenal series. So much heart, showing love, loss, the highs and lows of life. Great work guys
im not one to comment on youtube videos a lot but i want to show my support for this series n hope we get a second season at some point. It felt like the summer morning shows i watched as a kid but a bit more adult, a lot funnier and a lot more emotional, thank you for taking a chance to make something genuine and not driven purely by financial gain
just finished the episode and THAT ENDINGGGG!!! Yall are so talented it never ceases to amaze me. Thank you for bringing us wonderhole ❤️
I've never been this sad for a car in my life. he didn't have to do this 😢
Watch Twisted Metal. That's the only other time I cried over a car. 😓
Why am I crying at a car getting crushed?? 😭😂
Me too
@@tatersoupsame 😭 idk I get real attached to vehicles tbh
I respect him for doing it.
My favorite part is imagining you guys putting all of those inflatables into the camera car driving the pick up somewhere then putting all of the inflatables back in the truck just for the shot.
That was their imagination on the deserted island. Didn't you see the end?? 😂😂😂
@lisao7600 you do know they actually had to film the things they actually filmed right?
They didn't cgi the inflatables and the truck or anything XD
Fun behind-the-scenes, the shot at 23:21 we actually strapped them down and drove across Harnett County a bunch like that! The alien one was gradually getting loose and we were driving behind with tension hilariously building on whether or when it was gonna fly out
@@tjchambers27 That’s hilarious, thank you!
@@jay15951 buddy they were joking
I can assure you that you're not looking too far into things!
Seeing the kids driving the truck was so sweet 🥹
Keep up the amazing work! What an amazing project your two brians have created! It is so nostalgically “Rhett and Link”. I couldn’t be happier with how the series played out! Cant wait for season 2! BYMB
I can’t wait for more, it’s wonderful to learn more about the past of rhett and link and this is all so creative and fun
26:14 Wow! Fantastic final scene to a great season. This is true art and storytelling at its finest! Nice work
As a recent subscriber to wonderhole, I'll never get over how well they transition from click-baity new gen TH-cam to painfully earnest in every video.
2:50 the last supper…
What a fascinating and cathartic series. With how somber and deep these themes can be, it makes me concerned whether rhett and link are feeling alright? I hope the self reflection comes from a place of wisdom and perspective, not because they're fearing their mortality. Love these episodes, and i see how much work has gone into it!
I think it comes from a mature place of accepting their mortality. It's normal to be afraid to die.
I love the way this came back around! I've been wondering how the episodes would all tie together.
Awesome job!!! I've loved watching them. Thanks, Mythical! 😊
This went from being about making life size gummy men to seeking forgiveness for an accident
Thank you for all the work that went into wonderhole. I enjoyed every episode, and I cannot wait for more to come! Lots of love to everyone who worked on these videos :-)
My favorite episode was the future episode it was quite emotional but all these were fantastic and fun can’t wait for season 2
I almost cried over a truck. Well done
that pastor is hilarious
*Petition for them to sell gummies of themself*
The fan-fic that could be written. 😮😂
@@scy1038you guys need to find real people to talk to
They have ice cube trays of themselves...I suppose they could be used for big gummies lol
🙏
They have Gummy molds of R & L in the store 😂
i just started watching y'alls content this summer, but i don't think i can say i've ever fallen in love with a youtube channel as quickly and as intensely as i have with this one. i can tell that y'all are so genuinely passionate about the things y'all and work on and that you put everything you have into them while also maintaining your incredibly special bond that you've had with each other, and it is so truly heartwarming. both me and my best friend, whom i met when we were both 4 years old (we're both 20 now), are fans of your work, and Wonderhole definitely helped me revitalize the gratitude i have for her and my own, still healing inner child. i hope you guys never stop creating what you love
12:30 I want to hang out with Link in his truck for hours.
I just went down a hole last week of watching Rhett and Link videos from years ago bc I never watched them and now im getting recommended videos from 12 minutes ago lmao nice to see "New" content while i am also watching older content lmao
Same! Been watching GMM after they moved to LA. They've come so far.
Would you say you went down a… Winderhole?
I didn't see that coming 😮. Now I have to watch everything again to try to see hints of this. Amazing series, and one which might have never been made if things went just a little worse in 1995.
I loooove this series! way to go, guys. thanks for doing what you do!
so glad this series is going so well for them!!
Guys
The 1987 Nissan Pickup... that hurt.
It was only a dream
“Probably just the nurse because I don’t want to do that much education” Link, being a nurse is all education 😂
I think he was referring to how many years or university that doctor's do but you are also correct lol
I firmly believe Links slap at 9:43 was an intrusive thought that he had no time to stop 🤣
The video of Link teaching his kids to drive stick is so beautiful! Great memory that I hope they cherish forever!
Oh, Randy is real. Very, very real.
Sleep well, Daddy!
Don't you want him to come whisper sweet nothings in your ear while you are sleeping?
Strange, funny, insightful, amazing... LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this series ❤
I can’t wait to see more of Wonderhole
Link making a Face/Off reference when he’s known for not watching any movies is crazy
Please make tiny molds, and sell Rhett and Link as special edition Haribo gummies. The stars would ALIGN
Hey R&L,
I listened to your podcast today and it dawned on me how important it is to comment and explain my gratitude for Wonderhole. I love this series. I think you and the team did an excellent job. After hearing how much hard work went into each and every one, I can’t help but to feel so lucky. Keep going and keep creating such wonderful and unique masterpieces. I can’t wait for season 2! - Rema ❤
Love how Don magically appeared like that lmao
Why did I tear up when the truck went into the compactor!? 😂 😢
These have all been very entertaining, here's hoping for a Season 2 soon!
you would never guess these two own a million dollar company
They are worth 35 million.
My favorite form of art is when you give someone the tools to go all out with their creative freedom, and Rhett and Link have always been able to amaze me with their creations. It’s not just the absurdity and comedy they come up with, but also how this is clearly something that they are passionate for and deeply love doing! Wonderhole has been FANTASTIC and has given me the breath of fresh air I needed from video content creators for a while!! Thank you so much guys! Please continue to make whatever the hell you want to because anything that comes from your hearts and minds will always be worth watching to me! ❤
How did I not know about you guys until now. So glad I saw you on Jimmy Fallon and now I'm a big fan. Gonna binge watch your show right now. Funny guys! 🤣💜💜👏👏
Well done mythical crew! I loved this project so much and I’m very excited for next season ❤
