Yeah, I'd love to watch a video of in depth fm synthesis with the operator. I'm actually into fm synthesis with the modular but i haven't used operator much so I'd love to bridge fm synthesis knowledge with knowledge about the operator@@pickyourselfofficial
I was on a 3 years nono producing, and didnt like the way i was working on my sound, lateley i came back w ableton 11 and your videos plus some friend (on a advance way on producing and sound desing, i im autodidact, i play guitar, bass and drum but get totally inmersive by ableton) and here im about to finish like 10 song thanks to you, creating the sounds i was chasing, thanks for your work and massive way of teaching, i feel every video like a class level god, really, thanks!
Try using a step sequencer or looped random rather than a non repeating stepped random LFO. Very different vibes. If the length of the modulation loop is different from the rhythm, you can get interesting effects that way too.
Yep, I do that too! The step that I left out in this video (and what I should have probably mentioned) is that I then record the random sequence for 1-2 minutes and pick interesting snippets as audio loops from it. Those become the lead lines then
Operator is made for Techno. Just the default INIT setting with some modulation and delay directly brings you into Techno territory. In my opinion your example / result doesnt do it justice, its way too random and unusable. I rather use a step sequencer and map it to frequency and filter and then hit the random button a couple times, for me personally it brings way better results. thanks for sharing though, operator is the best!!
Yep, works great with step sequencing as well. When I use it with true randomness, I often let it record for a while and then curate the best segments. I cut them out and use them as a loop.

@@pickyourselfofficial one of my favorite techniques is to mix tempo synced LFOs and use S&H to get loops. Fun fun fun in the sun sun sun.
Awesome! Thanks!
Thank you very much for revealing such secrets 😎
My pleasure 😊
The claps are great here, what’s your method?
I would like to know too , it's sound so great
Watched a bunch of videos about operator but still haven't got a clue bout it, would be nice if you would do an indeep lesson.
Will do for sure!
How do you get that drone sound that runs through this track?
Great question! I've actually made a video specifically on how to create those Techno drones: th-cam.com/video/tVRJxl-nmNc/w-d-xo.html
Here's a video I made about my typical Techno drone workflow, let me know if you find it helpful: th-cam.com/video/tVRJxl-nmNc/w-d-xo.html
Great, thank you
Glad you liked it!
Do some FM, please!
