That’s why we recently decided to take a road trip up the east coast to explore what New England has to offer! In this video, we show you the beautiful Portland Head Lighthouse in Portland, ME and give you everything you need to know before you visit.

I'm such a sucker for lighthouses. There's something so special about them they are so beautiful to look at. Just reminds me that we have to be the light when the world is dark, just like the lighthouse.

Thanks for the video! I’m going there in a couple weeks and I plan on going very early for sunrise photography. Is there someone on duty that early to get a ticket or is it like computerized tickets?

It is possible that the gates won't be open in time - the park "opens at sunrise". I would call them at 207-799-2661 to check with them directly. Alternatively, Spring Point Ledge Lighthouse is not gated and you can get GREAT sunrise shots here.
