Imelda Staunton did a fantastic job playing a character who was more hated than the story's main villain. The fact that Umbridge was more hated than Voldemort himself makes the scene where she gets carried away like firewood by the centaurs that much more satisfying. When I first saw Grawp, I thought he looked like the illustrated kid on the cover of MAD Magazine, Alfred E. Neuman. Also.... Cornelius Fudge, after seeing Voldemort: He's back.... Me, sarcastically: *Gee, if only someone said that the previous year and at the hearing. Oh, wait....*
Stephen King said, ‘The gently smiling Dolores Umbridge, with her girlish voice, toadlike face, and clutching, stubby fingers, is the greatest make-believe villain to come along since Hannibal Lecter.”
Cho wasn’t actually the one who gave up the DA. When they all joined and wrote their names on the papers, Hermione had put a jinx on the paper. Marietta, Cho’s friend from Ravenclaw, was the one who snitched. She joined Dumbledore's Army at Cho's urging, despite being reluctant to get on Dolores Umbridge's bad side. When she became afraid that her mother's job at the Ministry of Magic might be threatened by her involvement with the DA she snitched to Umbridge. This activated the jinx Hermione placed on the sign up sheet that caused boils to erupt on Marietta's face spelling the word “sneak”, and a Memory Charm was later placed on her in order to prevent her from fully incriminating her fellow D.A. members. Cho defended her friend while Harry argued her friend betrayed them. That’s why they don’t remain together.
In the books Sirius gives Harry a gift but he never opens it. When he has the vision of Sirius being tortured, he goes to the fireplace to ask for Grimmauld Place where Sirius was staying. Kreacher answered laughing and said Sirius wasn’t home, but Sirius was home he just couldn’t answer because he was caring for buckbeak. This is what made Harry think the vision was real. Kreacher lied because he was always mistreated by Sirius and loved the other black family members such as Bellatrix. Dumbledore warned Sirius to care more for Kreacher and treat him better but he didn’t listen. At the end of the book he goes through his school bag and finds the gift Sirius had given him had shattered at the bottom of his bag. It was a mirror that allowed him to communicate with Sirius directly if he ever needed to reach him. If he had opened the gift, he would have avoided the whole ministry scene and Sirius’s death
When they filmed Sirius's death scene, Daniel Radcliffe drew on the recent death of his grandparent in order to portray the grief response. The reason the scream is muted is because it was TOO affecting, and genuinely upset people on set, so it was determined the largely child-age fan base couldn't handle it and so was edited to soften the impact. That totally broke my heart when I heard it. Part of the reason is just that it's sad, but it's also because my grandfather was basically a father to me because my own was never in the picture, so his death was very difficult. And while he was dying at the hospital (before we took him home for his final few days, as we're a family of medical professionals and we were more than capable of caring for him ourselves once we knew he wasn't going to recover this time) they had to kick us out of the room for a procedure that was going to take about two hours, so instead of just sitting around the hospital waiting room, we decided to go see the first Harry Potter at the nearby theater. And it was honestly magical. The whimsy and joy of that first film was exactly what we needed, a brief reprieve from our grief and pain, and that helped us face what we needed to and say goodbye to him. Christmases were hard after losing him so close to the holiday, but for the next few years, we went every year as a family to watch the next installment of the series (they usually released between Thanksgiving and Christmas, if memory serves). So, aside from it being a genuinely great series, that's why Harry Potter means so much to me. These movies helped my family during a difficult time, and I was always cherish them for that. Okay, I totally didn't intend to bear my soul, but it happened. Oh well. Great reaction, as always, and I'm so looking forward to the rest! Cheers!
Fun fact: Nymphadora is Dracos cousin and Bellatrix Lestrange is their aunt who is often regarded as the worst death eater coming only second after Lord Voldemort
@@mazanreacts your welcome nymphadora is the daughter of andromeda tonks (formerly black) and nymphadora was in the same year as Ron’s older brother Charlie at Hogwarts and was a member of hufflepuff
@@douglasidly8679 yeah you wouldn’t know this as Nymphadoras mother was only mentioned in the books she was disowned as she married a muggle born wizard up she was also a member of slytherin house but unlike her family despised the dark arts she was also mentioned as being Sirius blacks favourite of the three sisters
@@douglasidly8679 andromeda (Nymphadoras mom) is said to have an almost uncanny resemblance to Bellatrix to the point Harry mistook her for her older sister but the main difference being is Andromedas hair is brown instead of black and her eyes are softer and kinder compared to Bellatrix
The full prophecy is: "The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches... born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies... and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not... and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives..." The interesting thing about it is that it could have easily applied to Neville as well because he was also born at the end of July and his parents fought against Voldemort. Voldemort chose Harry rather than Neville because Harry is a half-blood like himself while Neville is actually a pureblood. The problem for Voldemort was that he didn’t actually hear the full prophecy, so he accidentally sealed the prophecy in stone by choosing Harry (marking him as his equal) rather than just letting things be. If he’d left the events of the first wizarding war to play out naturally, he might have won because the killing curse wouldn’t have backfired on him
@@Maxwinchesterphotography Yes, exactly this. Voldemort's evil is abstract and removed from our reality, but Umbridge? Most of us have encountered an Umbridge. She's truly, heinously realistic and awful.
Love the first one for the discovery of the magical world, the incredible cute cast, the gorgeous visuals. 2 was a tad snoozy for me. 3 made me eat my popcorn fast, and zip to 4, which topped 3 by a teensy bit. The teenage angst, games, and the devastation and gross spectical Voldy's return, made 4, sweet and scary. Just like puberty. 5, convoluted plotline, but awesome wizard battle. 6 is a favourite! Watch 7 and 8 as one. Great, funny, smart reactions!
Ello Hermoine!! Haha sorry to hear you've been ill. Just got over a weird fever, no cold, just weak stomach kind of flu like. But at least I wasn't completely miserable during it like other times so I'll take that any day.
You need to study the Black family chart. Bellatrix has 2 sisters Narsissa and Andromeda. They have a child each: Draco Malfoy and Nymphadora Tonks, which makes them cousins and Draco is a member of the Black family! Thestrals are invisible unless you are magical and have seen death; so muggles cannot see them ever.
This is a perfect example of a self-fulfilling prophecy. It only means something because Voldemort - after being told about the first part of it - believed it and acted on it. Think about it: if he hadn't murdered Harry's parents and tried to kill Harry himself, Harry would be just another ordinary wizard boy and the whole prophecy would be utterly meaningless. But as Dumbledore (book version) put it: Voldemort himself created his own worst enemy just like tyrants everywhere do (...) he hand picked the man most likely to finish him and gave him the tools for the job.
Two things in this video, I was very conflicted with the ugly decor of Umbridge's office, but kittens.... Secondly, at the end of the movie, I'm hoping for Harry and Luna to become a permanent couple.
