The first assumption confuses me so much. I don't think it's wrong for a nineteen year old to not be supporting themselves financially bc uni might make it hard for them to get a job. I mean, the fact that you pay for all your stuff is really admirable considering oxfords terms seem difficult as hell in terms of workload. Maybe it's just me who thinks that though idk
ikr? I feel like most uni students have their parents helping them pay the ridiculously expensive tuition, and I don't get why it's stated in such a condescending/negative way..
Yeah same here, I'm quite lucky with the beneficial student's loan situation, but even then my parents have to step in financially to help me pay for the more ridiculously expensive stuff...Outside of study work I don't really have that much time for a job anyway, so I don't understand how I could possibly be financially independent at this age...
I think maybe because she travels a lot people assume that her parents just spoil her and pay for everything? And she probably gets that a lot so that's why she must have said it in that tone. I also think it's different from culture to culture like I know in England people move out really early and are expected to be independent financially from a young age. But I'm Indian and I know in England in the Indian/Asian cultures people stay at their parents house till they get married no questions asked it's just expected!
Especially because of the way the student loan works, you get less money the more your parents earn, therefore surely they're assuming your parents will 'make the difference' even though many don't!
1. packing list for uni, maybe review your ikea haul 2. how to revise at uni (this would be really helpful because everyone says it's so different to a levels and you obvs did sth right😂😍) 3. something about work-life balance: this time last year you said you weren't sure whether you were gonna aim for a first because you worked so hard to get into oxford and you wanted to enjoy yourself while you were there. this is the point I'm at now, so I'd be interested to know what made you change your mind and decide to really go for the first 4. how to take lecture notes (i'm really worried about this)
I completely relate to what you said about reading for fun. I was the biggest bookworm until I was about 14 but I’ve hardly read a non academic book since and it makes me really sad.
1. budgeting for uni students, financial tips for students 2. packing for uni 3. favorite places to study/do work at uni (what you like about them and why) 4. how to revise at uni 5. how you write your papers - what's the process? what kind of papers do you write? etc. - methods for writing a research paper for languages 6. how you read and take notes on books. do you just pull quotes and make notes on them? do you take detailed notes of plot details, literary devices, characters, etc? best tips for reading fiction books for comprehension. - english, german, and spanish, if you have different strategies for each.
I would love to see how you took notes this year and what the biggest differences between uni and sixth form were (eg. lectures vs classes, tutorials, different academic support etc) + any tips for first years for the school part of uni ❤❤❤
I feel exactly the same you do about getting a first Eve. And I too feel pressure to get good results because I’m worried that it will completely undermine the study advice I give on my channel. Great vid Eve 😊 Love ya as always 💕
I stg people would be mad if you did bad academically saying you should do better and they’ll still have an issue if you get full marks because then you’re ‘boasting’ 🤦🏼♀️
I almost did the same thing as you when picking my a levels. Even at my interview for sixth form I was talking about maths and physics for a-level (at this point I already knew further maths was a no-no). Since then I have changed to English lit, french and RS. So excited for sixth form (the experience and not difficulty or workload)
Jessica Goncalves I have just messed up my first year of sixth form, and am deciding whether to move to another sixth form and change to subjects which play to my strengths, or an apprenticeship.
I think there is a difference between not wanting to surround yourself with people who don't prioritise academics or not wanting to surround yourself with people who impede your academics :) I totally get where the confusion lies sometimes as sometimes those lines blur but there is a definite difference between the two
okay this is so so random, BUT what you know by two door cinema club was playing in a club in budapest???? like i was interrailing and the song came on (while i feel like it's quite niche) and i lost it hahah.
I agree she could say these things differently, but it’s important to remember that good and bad depends on the person. To me, ABB would be bloody amazing, whereas to my sister she’d be disappointed with that. It’s all perspective
I am still trying to come to terms with the fact I didn’t get my predicted grades, which were very similar to Eve’s, despite working my arse off, so I guess I am particularly sensitive to comments like that.
Rachel Munday I understand, it’s so difficult isn’t it. I was the same with my results last year. It’s frustrating not getting what you worked so hard for, but it’s just a stepping stone remember!x
Hi eve, I love u so much, you’re really down to earth, anyways I’m interested In doing a classic and modern foreign language degree at Oxford, please could you do a video on what modern Languages is like at Oxford (like what modules you can choose).xxx
I get so confused when Eve says she was always going to go down the science route as in every video of hers I remember watching from years ago she said her fave subjects were languages and history and she wanted to be a diplomat
I sort of changed over when I was about 14/15 so pretty much around the time I started youtube, so there’s no videos of me saying I want to do science c
First of all you look stunning, secondly I'd like to ask if you do intend to post vlogs throughout your second year. I know you won't be doing weekly vlogs, but I was just wondering if you'll still be documenting or sticking to advice videos instead. Xx
I think you are a great streamer hope that you can make some mores streams in the future Praying for you How is your family friends you should do cooking streams one day as well You will get through it
I do not understand why she can not post her personal life on her main media platforms.... Its part of being a student... drinking, experiences and life.... I am here for the realistic portrayal of uni, do not shy away from posting such content.
We are way past caring and judging you about your grades, we love your content and uni experience the grade doesnt matter ,we are happy with whatever u are with
Nothing surprises me, clearly I had a realistic view of you :) maybe you could do a video more in depth on your course, what you learned, what the assignments were like, how you improved in the languages and what surprised/ was notable about that, what literature you liked and didn’t like etc! I always love hearing about other people’s courses’ actual content and I’m sure it would help future applicants of modern languages! Hope you’re having fun in Portugal!
I got AABB in my a levels and im struggling to be happy with them... I got a B in english and I'm off to do an english degree so do you have any tips for dealing with disappointment?
Catrin Ward hey, I’m not eve but I have some advice anyway! I was in a similar situation when I got my A Levels 2 years ago, I got a B in Media and I’m studying media production at uni. UNI IS SO DIFFERENT! I was really disappointed with my B because I was hoping for an A*, but it just filled me with determination, your a level results won’t reflect your uni results, you can get to uni and absolutely smash it and get a 1st regardless! (And lets be real, a B is still a really good grade💖)
if you get a first in your degree or just any good grade it will make up for the b in english because degree is harder so if you get good results at degree you have kind of redeemed yourself if you get what i mean
I have a B in my English A Level as well! Went on to do English lit at uni and trust me it doesn’t matter. Sometimes exams don’t go well for you but the majority of people in my class had a massive range of grades but we all got to the same place, all that matters is you got into uni and you are doing a degree you want!
Jennie Hawkes much like Jennie, I was so disappointed because I was really close to an A but once you are in uni, all that matters is your course and having fun while you’re there :)

Eyeliner on fleek girl! Love you so much Eve!! Xxx
Yasss. I totally agree
It would be helpful to see a video where you watch back your uni haul and say if you actually needed everything etc
A packing list for uni would be really helpful! :)
Eve I loved this video! Please could you do a video on how not to be stressed for GCSE results day (it’s the 22nd!)? I’m anxious for it. 🌟
there’s nothing wrong with wanting a first😂 don’t feel pressured to justify things like this eve (:

"If I got a bad result... like if I got ABB". Great thanks that makes me feel great about my results

Yes. I loved the last assumption video. THANKS.
Everyone wants to get the best results it's natural so I'm proud to see her reaching for the stars. Eve is genuine which i love
An entire video in either German or Spanish or both, doesn't have to be too long
I'm 18 and I'm not allowed to drink at home. So I drink in secret and have to hide it when drunk. Hopefully life will change at uni
Eve we want to see you going out and having fun too! Seriously we watch you for you not for your studying😘
Sotiris Maragos and yet, when she did go out and show that in her oxford vlogs, ppl accused her of not taking her degree seriously :( she can’t win!
