Getting Out Of The Ship During The Intro Of Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag

Edward Kenway chickens out of the naval battle and decides to leave the ship and fellow pirates behind.
Found this out while replaying the intro of the game.
You can even reach Cape Bonavista but Edward is locked out of his climbing/sprinting animations and you can't really do much.
I have recorded some footage of this but as I said there's not much you can do
Besides it took me something like 12 minutes to get there so it wasn't really worth it in the end.
Funny thing though is that you can keep hearing the guy yelling for Edward to take the wheel as he was standing a few meters away from you.
