"Once. My father brought me here as a kid, though I remember little of it. And I don't suppose tonight will afford me the luxury of a proper viewing either."
- Haytham Kenway, Theatre Royal London, 1754
makes me cry ;_;
Haytham is one of the best AC characters, I think he is deeper than Ezio, unless there is a book about Ezio's childhood, but I know 'Forsaken' is a brilliant book, I would reccomend it if you want to know how Black Flag ties into AC3.
***** haha yeah, Haytham and Ezio are my favorite AC characters. His story was a lot better than Connors. And yeah I know how they connect with ACIV.
Haytham,Ezio and Shay.
And how was the opera?
Rather dull truth be told.
Personally I loved all the assassins and playable templars (Haythem included) until Unity. I fell out of the series at that point. I adore all of them. Especially Malik and the Kenways (and Ezio has a special place in my heart, especially as a Rosa cosplayer.)
this isnt a secret ending, its the epilogue
Yeah
Yea ik
Its called clickbait
@@gegimelka6095 I wouldn't take it that far, more of a misunderstanding.
Yep it is, all you have to do is finish the campaign for this cutscene
“But won’t your arms tire”
“I use to climb buildings for a living mate my arms are pretty much rock right now”
😂
In a way haythem was the Anakin Skywalker of the family
Anakin haven't got a father and Luke don't killed him.And It's not Haythem or Conner.Haytham and Connor.
Edward is obi wan. Luke is connor
Nowadays he's more like Han Solo
No no he got a point
Edward = Qui-gon Jinn
Haytham=Anakin
Connor=Luke
The very last moments where Edward was full of joy. And the last scene where we see Haytham as a cute little kid.
Bro was never cute
Those moments when you’ll never be good enough for the girl you like because her dad set the bar way too high for how cool you have to be
If we take that into consideration... 99 percent of the men on earth would fail to meet the standards of edward kenway
@@bibaswanmukherjee7237 no 99.9%, Edward was a pirate, templar, and finally a master assassin. He is too cool to compare. Maybe with Ezio
@@Tekking-K7l edward was not a templar... He was just pretending to be one🤣
@@bibaswanmukherjee7237 I know, but he still did the work
If Edward got another game or two, I think he would’ve stolen Ezio’s spot for me as the best assassin.
Whilst i doubt that would work for me... you have a very powerful point here.
I definitely do believe that part of Ezios amazing legacy is the fact he GOT 3 games... something no other (aside from kinda Altair?) has
Something i feel several characters would benefit from, including Connor, Shay and Arno.
Amusingly enough due to the timeline you could give all 3 a second game simultaneously.
@@supervegito2277 Ezio only became the goat because of brotherhood and revelations, if his only game was AC2 nobody would care about him
tbf then they would have made the 2nd black flag or whatever the sequal would have been called alot bigger.
@@Colecionador7162 ac2 is regarded still as one of the best ac games. Clearly gameplay aint the reason
@@gambeano it was because of gameplay
While it probably didn't age that well compared to it's sequels, the evolution that was shown from AC1 to AC2 was one of the main reasons why people praised AC2, just look at some reviews of it's time
" My father once brought me here when I was a kid " - Haytham ( In the first sequence or 2nd I don't remember it ) in AC3 , Now I understand what he was saying
People seriously need to stop comparing this to previous assassins creed games, black flag was a character story about Edward. In the beginning he is reckless, but by the end he changes to see the destruction he's brought. For Edward's story I feel this was the best ending possible. (as he was already murdered in assassins creed 3)
for people who dont know, the kid is who you start out playing as in assassins creed 3.
who doesn't know that? besides the people that just started playing assassin's creed.
haven't played assassin's creed 3 so i am lost lol. all i ve played was ac2 and brother hood and ac4
UltraAtomic1 you should try playing AC3 it's as good as AC4 and you get to meet George Washington!
Yeah ima try to get it in this the week so probably playing games on 360
WOW, you don't say...AC3 came out like a year, some AC fans don't know the kid's Haythem. OUR GENERATIONS ARE DAMN SCREWED.
Holy shit Edward is connors grandfather through Hatham kenway. I feel so slow for not noticing. Crap I really need to pay mor attention to the characters instead of the storyline.
lol me too
I think Connor mentioned how 'his grandfather, Edward, was a pirate so it must've been in his blood to naturally use a ship' (something like that) in AC3 when using the Aquila in the "Tyranny of King George" DLC.
holy shit i thought it was the other way around lol
Kris Jones dude in the ship customization in ac4 it says aquila weel and front peice and says will belong to aquila conner kenyways ship
K Log I didn't notice either
Aww man... Haytham's appearance in this hit me right in the feels.
Am i the only 1 who didnt find ac3 that bad ?
Michael Morris yeah
assassins creed 3 is awesome and its going to be available for free in uplay this december
That game was amazing. It introduced a hell of a lot, like running through the trees for instance, and starting as a child. If somebody doesn't like it then they obviously don't appreciate good things.
the reason its bad is because its so slooow to get something out of it and it felt like you were dragging yourself to finish it ac4 is good because you actually want to know what happens
No AC3 was good and it's mistakes helped AC4BF be a better game, without AC3 AC4 wouldn't be as good
How is this a secret ending? It is like 2 mins after the credits
Ikr but still it is soooooo long after you finish the game (and nearly cry your insides out)
Haytham when at the theatre in Assassin's Creed 3: "My father brought me here as a child. Though I remember little of it. I don't suppose tonight will afford me the luxury of a proper viewing either."
I can't believed Haytham was Edward's son, after I realized their surnames "Kenway". I was so shocked!! A Father of Assassin and a Son of the Templar!!
Phantom3660 I know he died at Assassins Creed 3
Who's the mother of Haytham?
I'd say this IS a secret ending.
Most of us probably quit the game halfway through the credits to cry
This is a nice little ending. It gives more understanding to the family tree.
So, Edward was the father of Haytham who grew up to later be the father of Connor. It's pretty simple to understand, but interesting.
If they said even before the release of AC4 Black Flag that Edward was Connor's grandfather, isn't it pretty obvious he was Haytham's father ;) Not too confusing family tree at this point (understanding Desmond's WHOLE FAMILY TREE is another matter...)
Sa Bu
I know right? Haha.
@@InfamousJJ420hello
You see that boy, he’s going to be Templar when he’s older and gets killed by his son, the storyline’s are connecting
the irony of it all! Edward killed templars, Haytham grows up to be one!
In ac5 you play as haytham we will see what happens maybe assasins betrayed him
How could you NOT be satisfied with this game? Edward has great character development, the new naval combat system has been improved immensely, there's tons of side activities that actually aren't totally insignificant and fun...My only issue is that this was produced in about a year. Give it more time and give me those gripping WTF moments the first AC games had. This game's story had potential but it was rather slow and at the end it really accomplished nothing at all. Just goes to show if you rush production, you rush quality. Don't be like Activision, Ubisoft.
They started doing AC4 before Revelations was finished, so it was 2011 back then. AC games usually have a development cycle of 2 to 3 years, including the background research (about 6 - 7 months) to the actual game coding. So they don't pull a game in one year, though it may feel like that.
That's bizarre then...guess they should have never fired the original storyline writer cause the games haven't felt the same since Brotherhood.
***** The storywriters:
AC1: Corey May
AC2: Corey May
AC Brotherhood: Jeffrey Yohalem, helped by Corey May
AC Revelations: Darby McDevitt (1/5 of Desmond, 1/3 of Ezio) helped by Ann Lemay (concultant writer) and Corey May
AC3: Corey May
AC4 Black Flag: Darby McDevitt
Wasn't there some Indian fellow involved in the writing process as well?
Question, why do people keep calling this a secret ending?, I can only think of one reason people would not see this is because they get bored with the rolling credits and quit out, I also get bored with them, but I do something else while they roll.
did you know there are secret blades hidden in Edward's sleeves!
This is obviously a hint to the next GTA DLC
Its such a pitty..how Edward have to die...
Was really sad about that ;(
A merry life...and a short one
Ohh..yeah...so sad ;(
sighhss ikr I was like aww I loved this ending but then at the same time I knew how this would end for Edward and the family :'(
George Frode take care of my like
How could he die so easily, all he had to do was counter then kill.
This scene actually ties into the beginning of Assassin's Creed III-explained in Forsaken. After seeing "The Beggar's Opera", they go to White's Chocolate House and are assaulted by "muggers". It is this night that Edward gives Haytham a short small sword. Two years and 2 days later, Edward is killed. If you don't believe me, check the Assassin's Creed Wiki/read Assassin's Creed Forsaken
Could be considered an Easter Egg because if I remember correctly Haytham- at the beginning of AC3- states when Birch asks him if he's ever seen the play, Haytham replies, 'once, with my father.' So this is probably what he's referring to- bittersweet, no?
Conor has pirate in his blood. Makes me cry.
They need to have a sequel with Edward.
Won't happen. If you want to know about his life after AC4, read Forsaken.
UBeg4Mercy I kind of wish they'd show what happened in some way in the games, maybe through missions that take work to get like the Christina missions in AC Brotherhood, but I don't know if they'd do that in Rogue.
Who is Haytham's mother, and Edward's current wife?
Edward was assassinated when he was 40 by burglars
Michael Sweeney Dude, I know. That has literally nothing to do with my comment.

It connected AC3 with the rest of the story to let you know where Haytham came from..... And yes, this was a good story, lovely ending one of the first with a happy ending.
i wouldnt say this a secret ending considering its the only ending that everyone who wins the game sees.
I love how this game is sort of a prequel too Connor/ AC3. We get to see his Grandfather( a far more interesting character IMO) become an assassins but he does so gradually. We don't see him just become one, we see the process of sacrifice and all that good stuff. We see how Connor has a connection to the order through his grandpa. Although I couldn't finish the game cause I rented it and had to return I gotta say from what I've read and seen it's a pretty solid AC game. The best since 2. Let's hope the next one expands on it. Maybe we can have another with Edward but in London.
Your prediction was half right. We got one in London 2 sequals later but no Edward Kenway, which is fine because AC4 ending was perfect.
This Hatham is really father from Connor and Edward is the grand father from Connor (AC 3)? 0_0 woaww what a big..... suprise...... Ubisoft
you didn't relize that, when you know, they have the same last name.
Dmx Ninjz People with the same last name aren't related. Especially when the devs have said before release that those people are father and son, they are not related.
Pvt. Leonard L. Church I get the first part, but the second part I don't. Are you saying Edward and Haythan are not related?
Dmx Ninjz I was saying it was completely obvious, and that ubisoft even anounced the relation pre release.
Connor even mentioned his grandfather (Edward) of being a legendary privateer back in the day in one of the scenes in ac3.
To me this was like the best ending
I wish Ubisoft would turn forsaken a non-canon book into a alternate one and make a canon book where Edward doesn't get killed. I want another game on him or at least make a game on forsaken. I mean i dunno. Like what happened to "clearing a spanish gallion like it were nothin"
+ProjectUnite He got old
Amen to that! I just finished reading the book and it is so intriguing! It explains so much of what actually happens in AC3. Wish they would write a AU where what would have happened if Edward lived and Haytham became an Assassin not a Templar.
Pretty sure after this ending, you get a trophy called "Called it" or something similar.
Reading AC: Forsaken before this makes this seem quite sad...
Is it just me that remembers a completely different ending where they were on the other side of the theatre and as they are watching the show Edward looks back and his father or someone is there watching him
Then the American Revolution begins...
its official the assassins creed franchise has redeemed itself
oh man they use the graphics of assassin's creed unity style for end cutscene
Awww little Haytham, so cute!! *-*
is it me or
1710-1720 edward looks like Heath Ledger
Papa edward (in this scene) looks like Charlie Hunnam??
man, i still cant believe the manner in which edward dies. i know this is not supposed to be a one sided victory story of the assassins kicking ass and taking names but COME ON!
We are talking about a badass pirate, who conquered man of wars and galleons, survived the pirate age with great wealth and reputation, swam into the dephts of the ocean to hunt for treasure, and he gets freakin murdered by two templers. even if he was old, ezio was older and still kicking ass near the end.
it is just hard to believe that such a man like edward would be done in by such a manner. after everything he accomplished and survived, all it took were 2 templer assassins (or mercenaries, not turned assassins) if anyone had to die by old age, it should of been edward. he survived everything else. such a shame but thats how things go i guess. haythem had to turn templer at some point. im more surprised that he remained templer after learning about the death of his farther, even taking revenge against the templer who did it.
Spoilers - I think the best in order of character development and love for the main character should go:
ACII (ezio's character development was amazing and the mysteries were very intriguing)
ACIV (would've been no.1 but they killed mary read and blackbeard and edward didn't become an assassin till second last sequence)
AC: Brotherhood (no difficulty at all)
ACIII (why did they kill desmond!!! And connor was more of a chore to play as than an enjoyment)
AC: Revelations (i understand they were trying new things but i hated it, and ended with more questions than revelations)
The game is based & inspired by real events & history, Mary & Blackbeard were supposed to die, as they were in real life.
And I think it was a nice change of pace for Edward not being an assassin straight off the bat, but have his story build up for it instead.
That's Jenny Kenway as a 20 year old? How disappointing. You think that with both Caroline and Edward's genes to make Jenny, you think she would be this mermaid looking like girl. But no, her face looks too squinty and mean looking. The fan made drawings of her are much prettier than the game's version.
How is this secret?
it was the same place as the beginning of AC3 where haytham was
i mean the little boy is haytham who is one of the protagonists in AC3
I know but it's an Easter Egg sort of thing. If it was a secret the scene wouldn't have been there, you would have to find it or unlock an achievement for it...
By the way I've already beat Black Flag and it was there for me so it's not a secret.
But it is an easter Egg as it is a reference to AC3
hmm edward is father of haytham ,haytham is father of connor and i dont know anymore. and death of edward :( sad :On December 3, 1735, the Kenway household was infiltrated by masked men who kidnapped Jennifer and killed several of the servants. After making sure that his wife and son were safe, Edward raced to the games room and was confronted by two of the intruders; after a prolonged fight, one of the men managed to impale Edward through the chest with his sword, killing him instantly
read more in assassinscreed.wikia.com/wiki/Edward_Kenway
HOW DO you find out how edward dies?
ged watts it's in a book called 'Forsaken', its about Haytham's childhood and the gap between Black Flag and AC3, not sure if it is proper canon though but I assume it is, its a brilliant book though.
This just shows what Haytham says to Birch at the very beginning of AC3. This is the same opera house that you get the amulet from. Haytham mentions he was there once with his father so that's this scene
Even better watch, after been half-way though the audio-book of Assassin's Creed: Forsaken.
They released a novel explaining how.
In my opinion they got this scene running in the ac unity engine
I really love the dichotomy of his brash and reckless young self contrasted with being a loving father in later years
I wasn't talking about that. I was talking about the actual present day plot.
Merry Christmas Throneful and Everyone on TH-cam 2019😎👍✌️💙💜🧡♥️💚💖💗🎄
Merry Christmas!
0:34 is that Reginald birch
I’ve been trying to find that out and I believe there answer is yes
That’s definitely Arno’s voice actor playing the suitor.
Wdym secret ending? it is literally during the end credits
That not a secret ending
In all honesty, you can see that Haytham wasn't that bad. I don't think he made the attack on the Indian tribe because why would he attack his wife and son, and also why didn't he go there with everyone. He was also just a templar and on the wrong side and (because I read a book which told the backstory of him) was manipulated into joining it. So he never was as bad as, at least other people.
The end of the AC IV, is in the same place than the beginning from the AC 3 i think.
It's just an epilogue which connects to Assassin Creed 3 and Haytham's storyline. It is not a secret ending
Edward dies in assassins creed forsaken it fills in the gaps between AC IV and AC 3
This was in December 4th, 1733, after the opera, the Kenway got mugged.
On December 3rd, 1735, Edward Kenway was killed.
IRON-E isn't it?
yes, yes I did. :)
***** sure... :) but most resources I'm just gathering from AC novels.
Yeah the kid is haythem kenway. Edward gets attacked in his house by Templars and killed. The Templars tell haythem that his dad was training him to become a Templar.
This game ended more abruptly than any of the others. The final sequence wasn't even a sequence. I just feel like there should be more. Something I overlooked. Something that actually progresses the story. I don't know. It just felt empty.
Pretty sure they're just lining themselves up for the DLC + AC5 or w/e it'll be called, seems like they're going to be going on the theme of reincarnating the preworld lady in the present day and finding out how to do it in the animus
Edward dies in the book foreseaken he gets stabed in the heart it also tells you how haytham became a templar also edward is conners grandfather
Which book are you referring to? I haven't read any of the AC books unfortunately.
ethanike He Refers To Assassins Creed Forsaken
Also edward did not did not die, caroline, his wife, died
Goddamn Edwards outfit in this looks badass
In AC3's Reginald Birch database entry it says Birch and Haytham met when Haytham was a kid and they met at White's 😳
Wow guys, I was just outside Animus and wanted to hack every computer cause I thought that when I finish the story it will be not available to go outside animus and hack the computers cause I thought my character will have a mission outside animus. I was in the basement. And I saw on the map big A. And I thought it is very big computer, but I forgot that was the logo of Animus. And in the other moment I was in Great Inagua and I received the trophy for finishing the 12th main chapter. And I thought,, wait, that's not possible it is not the end bro. You received in a minute ago the trophy it is not possible to be the end". I am playing on PS4. And in the other moment I see the pirates and I am: ,, wtf man is that the ending?? Why I went to the logo, why I forgot it is the animus logo?? ". And in the other moment I see how Edward went to see his little daughter and because I saw before I started playing the game what will he the ending I thought,, wait isn't that the ending? But why I received the trophy for 1w chapter a few moments ago if I have one more chapter? " And in the other moment I am on the ship with the daughter of Edward and I thought : ,, wtf bro, but I didn't receive the 13th trophy!?! How is that even possible to be end if I didn't receive the 13th trophy?! ". And in the last scenes when I was in the theater I received the trophy and I was : ,, wtf bro, I just thought I am hacking and without being ready for this I saw this! Wtf man, I finished the game?!? Now I can delete it so I free more memory for my other games. I don't care about the computers and the info and the weapons, keys of the Templar Suit in Great Inagua, the harpooning and the helix glitches and the others things. I hadn't waste 14 leva (I am Bulgarian and it is lev instead of euro or dollar) for that stupid game! " And now when it is summer with big discounts I thought to myself: ,, I could waste the money for AC Unity instead of Black Flag! Look how big discounts are there, bro! ". And well I am fucked now!
Bro when that cutsen ended it had a long as credit
Haytam was sitting at the same place with his father where he killed Birch (apologising kid) at the beginning of Assassin's Creed III. How you dare, it's so sad Ubi. Please.
@@WyattPriceTV Haytham did kill Reginald Birch, just not in the games.
Come on, its only the epiloge after the credits!
Wait, I don't get how Hathem grows up to be a Templar and is Edward the grandfather of Conner?
Yes. Haytham was trained as an assassin (probably by Edward) until somewhere, somehow, the Templars got ahold of him and changed his mind. This game is actually a prequel to AC3.
Someone told me this: The man who tries to talk to Jenny at the beginning is Birch, the man who Haytham was with at the beginning of the game. He becomes Edward's accountant and grows Haytham's approval and trust. Haytham tells Birch of Edward's diary or something. Jenny tells Edward that Birch is a templar and Edward orders Birch to leave his manor. During the night mercenaries infiltrate the house and take Haytham. Edward goes to fight, but after a while he gets stabbed in the chest. The mercs take Haytham to Birch and Birch teaches Haytham how to be a templar. Sorry for long message
Oh don't be sorry, this is very interesting...where did you hear all of this?
United Gaming Community My friend told me that there's a book that tells the story after AC4 or something like that. I think it's called Assassin's Creed: Forsaken. Heard it was a pretty good read.
Is it official canon to the story?
pretty much you know how haythem is a skilled assassin because his father must of trained him
My friend keeps telling me that he saw conners dad using eagle vision he told me his eyes were blue
Pisses me off that they don't shed any light as to why Haytham became a Templar. Did he think that the Assassin's killed Edward or what?
A friend of Edward Kenway lied to Haytham about the war with Assassins and Templars..and Haytham lived his life not knowing the truth
Jeremiah Mendez Is that how it went down? Wow, what a dipshit! Getting manipulated like that...
C PT If you want to know what happened read this: assassinscreed.wikia.com/wiki/Haytham_Kenway
So is that Reginald birch that tries to talk to Jennifer?
edward dies long after ac4 is set, like when Haytham is a kid , its in the ac3 book, yep , the ac3 book
the boy who lived and got templared
Um, no it's not a secret ending, just a story scene after the credits. You pretty much get them whatever what, after completing the game...
I just realized that’s the theater in I think the first assassins creed game
This one was amazing. Ok I know some people don't like it how he wasn't a assassin but near the end he tried to prove himself to the assassins I think but still amazing and the ending was so happy. Well they had to kill every one to make you sad then give you a happy ending.
AC3 was a good combination of ideas that werent fully fleshed together in the best way. AC4 on the other hand fleshed out all these things including the Kenway storyline much better, and it made for a much better game
That Is not a "secret ending", if you finished the game and Wait the credits go up this cutscene will play
Thats not a secret you just get that when you watch the credits
They used the same actor for kid Arno and kid haytham
And then, fate rips his joys from his grasps…
She was pregnant at the time so when she gave birth they named the baby haytham which is the grown up character we play as in ac III
So in doing the math, I discovered that Haytham is 29 years old when he crosses over to the American Colonies for the first time....My mind still doesn't know how to comprehend how young he was when he came over.
It's nice how AC4 ends where AC3 started :) This was done on purpose, circle was closed. Ubisoft could make an Edward sequel set in London, where he kills Woodes Rogers for good. AC4 game ends in 1722, so that would leave about 3 years to spend as Edward (Haytham was born in 1725, so Edward's genetic memories have already been passed onto him, making playing as Edward impossible.). It could be possible, Revelations spans 1 year. However, I think it's all revealed in the upcoming "Black Flag" novelisation...
(Minor Spoilers)
Woodes Rodgers was banished from the Templar Order and sent back to the Caribbean shortly after his return to England. He ended up dying there. So really, Edward never really did finish the contract like he said he would.....or did he?
northville47
They say Edward went low profile after returning to England. Who knows xD Maybe, MAYBE he finished Roger off in the Bahamas. We'll find about AC5 in March 2014.
This ending leads up to assassins creed 3! You play as haytham in the beginning of assassins creed 3 then his son conner so assassins creed 4 is a prequel to assassins creed 3
I thought assassins creed was going downhill, and that I'd really hate black flag, I have never been so wrong
have u guys ever thought that Edward Kenways son is Haytham From assassins creeds 3 and I remember him on the first mission he said that his father used to take him to these plays so my minds blown lol
Haytham is his son, I don't know if this is a joke and I'm slow or if you're serious
Edward is a good dad
Not a secret ending I'm a girl and kid I'm 8 years old I play assassin creed I know how to fight you know - _-
An assassins creed set in China would do me
Haythem said that his farther took him hear a boy which means conner is or was his grandson wow good job ubisoft
you seriously found out right now? ..............really?
Mr.Lightning Bolt didn't see it
his last name is kenway .__. they literally said it was haytham's dad at the beginning of the game. .__. and even before the game was announced we knew haytham's father was named edward....
I have no idea why ppl call these secret endings. Just call hem after credit scenes god dang it
