Talk to restream. It’s been a while since I used them but at some point they were having issues with streams from ATEM minis. It’s worth talking to their support about whatever issue you’re having. Restream is built into the ATEM software now so this video isn’t relevant specifically for restream anymore.
Or, there could have been this thing called the coronavirus that happened right in the middle of their initial manufacturing run, meaning that had fewer to sell then planned, and those that they did were stuck on a boat in Singapore for months. Do you really think that Blackmagic would rather NOT have units to sell you? C’mon… they are making them as fast as China can manufacture them. Make sure you have an order placed somewhere and you’ll get it when available.
The main BMD distributor here says he is helpless because there are no commercial cargo flights between Singapore and India. Only essentials like drugs and pharmaceuticals, medical equipment etc are being shipped. Have to wait till Singapore lifts the lock down totally.
Yes definitely. A computer gives you more control but it’s not necessary. However you will need a computer to configure the live stream destination and key, but once that’s set it’ll stay. That said, I’d never go to stream an event without having a computer available. Just in case.

I'm new to owning the ATEM Mini Pro. I hope you don't mind a question about its setup. I've watched videos and have asked everywhere and cannot get an answer. I've connected a TV monitor to the HDMI OUT port to see my MultiView. But, the tv monitor shows up as a third display on my iMac Pro and it's driving me crazy. My TV monitor showing the MV is above the iMac Pro and its second display. My two work displays sit side-by-side. The TV monitor with the MV is above. You can understand that my cursor gets 'lost' on that third display and that's because it's BEHIND the MV display. Now, when I CMD-TAB to switch apps, the line of apps appear over the MV! Also, I can put a cable between my iMac Pro and, say, Input 2 on the ATEM Mini Pro and 'see' the desktop that's otherwise invisible behind the MultiView on the TV monitor. I would like to be able to set which display I see on Input 2 so I can put my desktop on the air to teach. In brief, how can I keep the connected TV monitor from becoming a third desktop to the iMac Pro, and how to get a desktop I can use into Input 2 (in my case, but any input)? Am I going to have to get a second computer to demo software? How do others switch up the MV on-air or the ATEM Software Control panel? What am I missing? Thank you for listening.

All these in live. Will use Vmix. You think Atem Mini Pro can handle. Thanks.

Hi. I have gotten so much great advice from you. I really need someone to consult with me for about an hour to complete my set up. I plan on using my device in several ways. Tomorrow I want to join a Restream broadcast as a guest, but I want to use the ATEM mini for camera and audio control. Though I finally was able to get my computer to recognize the device, I cannot get the computer to recognize the ATEM as a webcam device so that I can join the broadcast with the cameras etc. Do you offer paid consultations?
Hi Joseph, it looks like you use some Panasonic gear, would you have any tips on the best cameras for the Atem mini since it will only do 1080 hd? I’m looking at some A6100’s. But what do you think?
I was hoping to use ATEM mini pro with restream, but use my atem mini as a guest and someone else control resream from a different location. Will this work?

You didn't mentioned how to add a different restream.io server to the list (yes, you can add multiple restream server (for example: EU server, US server), and you can decide what server is the best for you at the moment.
Considering there was only one restream server offered for me, I only added the one. But I showed how to remove and duplicate any options in there; I'm sure you can sort it out. Just duplicate the entire group of code for the server!
Thnx for You quality content, i was wondering, will streaming settings remain in atem unit, for example without atem software running in computer, so in theory i can use it like pluging in camera ..and lan cable and it is ready to go..
That’s an excellent question, and I don’t know. I’ll try to get a chance to test it. I think it may NOT, since the ATEM software reads the XML file on launch, it may not store that in the hardware at all. But I will check and report back.
I happen to know it stores the settings, I was late to start a stream, so just hit the hardware button on the ATEM Mini Pro..... worked fine without the PC.
Thanks Matt! And was this after rebooting the ATEM? I think the question is more about moving the ATEM to another location (and therefore it has to reboot) than simply disconnecting the computer.
Thanks for the great tutorial. We tried adding resteam into the .XML code as you said but when we relaunch the Atem it doesn't have any providers listed. Any tips on what we are doing wrong?

Question.... Once your channels are all set up on Restream, do you have to go "on air" from both Restream and the ATEM every time you want to stream? Alternately, can you schedule Restream to go live ahead of time? I'm setting something up for my church and I want to make things as easy as possible for them.
I don’t believe there’s a way to have restream.io push to the various platforms as soon as it detects a signal, but there might be. Part of me thinks that if you don’t explicitly turn OFF the toggles, then next time you stream to restream, they will already be on. I would check with their tech support. Their chat support is excellent. You can set up scheduled events but again I don’t know if it will take you live. I understand the desire for simplicity, but you really do want to verify that the stream is hitting restream cleanly before pushing it to the world. Otherwise, you could be pushing out garbage, and if you have to stop and restart the ATEM, you could end up automatically creating a new show on various platforms, and your audience may have a hard time finding the “new” show.
I’m aware this was a sponsored video, and restream.io are great. But for our church we just moved to Vimeo. Vimeo will do the restream bit to Facebook and TH-cam without extra webpage buttons, plus to Vimeo itself (as a watch platform or embed code) which gives less issues with church song copyright flags. Churches should have paid for a stream licence, but FB & YT can’t check those, so can mute or stop the stream in error. I used an ATEM Mini Pro to Vimeo for the first time Sunday, worked perfectly, you will still need @PhotoJoseph ‘s instructions on stream settings.
@@photojoseph Thank you so much.... I took the risk with a couple test streams. It does push the stream as soon as its detected. I can always make it a point to put a still for a few seconds at the top of each vid. Speaking of vids, thank you for yours.... They are great and so informative.
yes and no. The only way to stream to IG is to use YellowDuck (google it). The problem is that you'll be streaming 1920x1080 into a 1080x1920 hole, so it'll be center-cropped. When I stream to IG, I use a custom 1080x1920 template through my Epiphan Pearl-2, which is something you can't do with the ATEM. However if you ensure your content is in the middle of the screen - like you talking to camera, and you can mark your monitor with the IG "edges" so you can ensure you don't go out of frame, that will totally work.
PhotoJoseph thank you very much for the reply! I will definitely look up YellowDuck and consider center framing. As someone entering the live streaming world for the first time, your videos are always appreciated!

Thanks for sharing that, Matt!
@@photojoseph Thank you so much.... I took the risk with a couple test streams. It does push the stream as soon as its detected. I can always make it a point to put a still for a few seconds at the top of each vid. Speaking of vids, thank you for yours.... They are great and so informative.
Glad you found the solution. Good luck and thanks!
Do you use transcoding in restream?
Lean on BMD to give us a software update on the ATEM MINI PRO,
to make this easier TO ADD another streaming option besides the 3 that are baked in. 🙏🏽
Or they could just learn from this video and bake in a whole bunch, and add the "add new service" option at the same time.
Is it possible to stream to Instagram Live with the ATEM Mini Pro?
Thank you!
Thanks for the excellent content!
Great video! Thanks for the update on xml streaming and informing us about restream.io I have been looking for something like this to stream from ATEM to many places at once and you found it!
Super, glad I could help!
This video is “Stupid Good”🙏
Awesome video, thank you!
You’re welcome Michael! Just so you know, one of the more recent ATEM updates added restream natively. But you can still use this technique to add any other destinations.
Great video! Thanks!
Glad you liked it!
wow! I didn't know about that. It is a huge info and change a lot :)
👍🏻
