Dude I'm not worried about DC beating Marvel rn, I'm worried about Superman beating it's July competition! Jurassic Park, Superman and Fantastic Four IN ONE MONTH?! These movies will cannibalize each other financially!
Jurassic World and Superman may have a Barbenheimer situation but Fantastic Four is screwed because it cant start its marketing campaign until after Thunderbolts releases
@BaithNa That's why I think Thunderbolts should be releasing in July and Fantastic Four in November. Cap 4, Thunderbolts and F4 are only about two months apart from each other, and that's too close! Then again, Marvel Studios could try to do a cross-promotion and try to sell it as a three-movie event. But we'll see
It would have made more sense for relatively unknown characters like Riri Williams that the MCU wants to launch to have significant association with the Avengers. See Kate Bishop, Yelena, Red guardian, Bucky, Cassie Lang, etc
I think Fantastic 4 has no chance to compete with Superman even with RDJ cameo. The team of F4 alone already had a questionable reputation. However, it also should make enough impact for the audience to care, and RDJ cameo won't be any help. I mean look at The Flash with Michael Keaton cameo, doesn't stop it from being the biggest flop in 2023. However, Avengers: Secret Wars might, and for what I see, WILL garner audience interest. Despite the Disney and Marvel brand constantly failing here and there, just by looking at the title 'Avengers' will bring audiences back to the good ol' days of the times when Marvel was good. This is, once again, Disney playing on audience nostalgia as they always do with their recent releases like Moana 2 and those crappy live actions.

Frankly speaking DC has made some really good films in last 5 years... Maybe they're not making that much money... For example Shazam 1, Joker 1, WW 1, The Batman
@ the Batman and his sub universe is really the only one worth mentioning. I enjoyed WW, but I’ll never watch it again or care to. I can sit through avengers any given day, DC’s consistency hurts even their good projects. The worst thing they did was rushed in Justice League and let Snyder out of all people dictate the universe’s personalities. He’s great at visions, horrible at building characters.
@@CallMeFVLL agree with you... Hope new DC Universe can do better.. I'm optimistic about new Superman movie. People can love Snyder verse.. But as a DC Comic fan I never really enjoyed Snyder verse DCEU films. All those films were too dark and boring😑
I was always a huge DC fan. My favorite superhero growing up was bat man. I loved teen titans and young justice. in my mind, DC has always had the capability to far surpass Marvel. You have by far better gritty, dark, and emotionally story's. On the other hand you have some simple, completely good characters like Superman or the Flash that can exist to lighten up the series. They just haven't used their tools correctly. DC also does something I don't think Marvel could do. Turn tiny side characters into giants with fantastic stories. A great example is Mr freeze
James Gunn is going to save DC! I believe in David Cornswet way more than I do RDJ especially since he will never be my true Doom! Still though my favorite part of this year’s lineup is the anticipation for the new Superman movie. All of Marvel’s stuff looks interesting but Superman is what I want to see the most! I fully support James Gunn!
Is important to know that Invincible season 2 will arrive on February, and that also One Punch Man season 3 will arrive probably in October, so this two proyects and Superman may gain the whole attention of the public while the others may be ignored in some cases. Fantastic Four will also be fantastic
I don’t think DC will become “better” than Marvel but they can become balanced to Marvel. They’ll never have the legacy or cultural impact that the MCU has had. Especially as the superhero genre has already slowly become tiresome. However, the real point I wanted to make, I think this new DC cinematic universe’s biggest hurdle or challenge it’ll face, is the hate and negativity it’ll garner from within its ranks. From the Snyder cultists. I’ve already seen countless Facebook posts, Reddit forums, and TH-cam comments of those people slamming this trailer and Gunn’s vision beyond belief. Just ridiculous, unfair criticisms. Until those people can move on or Gunn can change their opinions, this new franchise will need to work on that group of people before they can become greater. Also GOTG is NOT the best trilogy in the MCU. That easily goes to Captain America or The Avengers. Don’t kid yourself.
Funny thing about DC is that they have a lot of access to a lot of characters they can use vs Marvel but Marvel beat them up with their limited access. Hope James Gunn use the characters well. I think he is bringing back his magic on how he approached Guardians of the Galaxy and Suicide Squad 2 by using unknown characters so that James Gunn can easily reimagine them in his image.
I don’t think you have to have superman to make a good dc movie you just have to think about a lot the story which progresses the entire movie or series.
Can you guys stop acting like the Superman movie is gonna solo the entire MCU and instantly put DC ahead of Marvel. Sure Superman is probably gonna be a great film, better than a lot of not most MCU films. But one movie cant solo an entire Cinematic Universe. The DCU has a LONG way to go before it really starts to compare to the MCU

Fantastic 4 on par with Superman in popularity? Oh yeah? When does fantastic 4 had a good box office? When did it had tv show or animated show every decade? When did it had a trend like starman?

Robert and Chris coming back sounds really cool BUT it also reeks of desperation to me. Audiences are sick of Multiverse stories with no stakes that use cameos to cash in. I think DC will have an advantage because everything just seems fresh
Thunder bolts will crush the competition by being unique and fresh as crossover And doomsday will be easily crushing supergirl in 2026 If not doomsday , then spiderman 4 will be doing that job easily , Dc definitely don't have the advantage just because they're fresh they have to create something out good of it
@@Prominent_intellectI’m more of a DC guy but I have no hate for marvel at all unlike some. The Trades will be paying close attention to Superman (if superman bombs do we think people will flock to Supergirl?) Either way I’m just glad Gunn is making quality over quantity a priority - Marvel has a busy year this and next while DC is playing it safe and not overexposed
We gotta relax with saying that Superman will catch DC up with Marvel lol. Remember the last time that happened when BvS was getting ready to come out? That’s what screwed WB/DC over. They tried to “catch up” to marvel in one shot/with one movie and it ended up backfiring on them. You’re also setting the expectations too high. Let’s just hope that Superman is a good movie first, makes a good chunk of money, and then let it ride the momentum and continue to build. It’s true that marvel’s quality had been declining or at least lost consistency since Endgame, but they’ve still got so much history and a long established franchise behind them. So much that one movie from DC isn’t going to instantly catch them up. Idc if it’s Batman or Superman or both.
If there's a comic book character that has the biggest pressure to be good and successful, it is Superman, he is the most popular and most iconic. So if it's good, definitely DC will skyrocket back to superhero movies and shows. It's not really about catching up to MCU, it's about making DC relevant again.
@@DeathFORcameO I agree that there’s a ton of pressure on Superman to be good. Probably the most for any comic book movie that I can remember. Because the future of this 2nd attempt at a big screen DC universe depends on it. If this movie sucks or flops at the box office then it might be curtains for DC. WBD will probably put everything only into the Reeves Batman franchise. Or even pull a Marvel and sell off a bunch of their different characters (not named Batman) to other studios. As a fan of DC since I was a youngin, I REALLY want this new DC cinematic universe to work.
Uhhhhhh, the movie needs to make at least 909m to break even for Superman, bro. So yea, they need a billion. They need it. It costs a lot to make Superman. Fantastic 4 didn't cost as much. 800m for Fantastic 4 is hundreds of millions in profit. Dc needs this Superman to hit.
I will give the DCEU credit it added more action to Superman. The previous Superman films didn’t have much action but man of steel had epic well choreographed fight scenes. Hope James Gunn can combine both well.
They are pushing back Batman , Superman early screenings are terrible etc Don't people realise that we see the exact same pattern for years now? All hype and shi before a release and when the movies come out all of them flop other than Batman and first Joker movie from the past years , the most recent flop is Joker 2 under the current regime yet people think they could battle with Marvel? Give me a break, eventho Marvel kind of fell off but still make money , DC tho doesn't, there is a reason why Warner have almost double the amount of debt compared to 10 years ago , we are looking at close to a 100 billion dollar debt not some millions
Marvel has a huge slate coming up, including Fantastic Four, which will be the first step in introducing Galactus, set in an alternate timeline with Jack Kirby-inspired retro-future aesthetics. We’ve got Thunderbolts and Captain America: Brave New World, along with exciting series like the Black Panther wakanda tv show cartoon, Marvel Zombies, Daredevil: Born Again, Wonder Man, Ironheart, and Spider-Man: Freshman Year. DC just won’t have a bigger year overall unless every single Marvel project is trash and underperforms-and that’s highly unlikely. Marvel’s shows will likely range from good to really good, with some hitting great or even legendary status (Daredevil has the best chance for that). The rest, like Wonder Man and Ironheart, will still deliver strong entertainment, varying from good to really good. For the movies, Thunderbolts has sleeper hit potential, Captain America: Brave New World will probably be good, it wont be not as great as The Winter Soldier or Civil War, but it will probably be better than The First Avenger. It’ll make decent money. Fantastic Four is poised to be Marvel’s summer blockbuster and could be the MCU’s biggest movie of the year. DC's Best Bet is Superman: and that should be the biggest superhero movie of the year, but Marvel’s overall lineup gives them a stronger chance to dominate in both quality and output. The idea that DC could have a bigger year than Marvel feels overly optimistic, fueled by trailer hype and projects like Creature Commandos, which just wrapped. Let’s see how things look when Fantastic Four drops its trailer then the conversation might shift.
I don’t agree with the doom thing. Yes, Robert is beloved, but it was also a very obviously desperate move on Marvel’s part. They wanted to generate a semblance of clout and that was their attempt, but beyond the immediate crowd reaction to a familiar face, I don’t think it’ll aid the movie all that well. If the fantastic four movie succeeds, it’ll be because of its main cast and story, not the star power of one guy.
I don't even think you believe Guardians of the Galaxy is the best MCU trilogy. You just said it to buffer your point. Since DC is only putting out one movie next year there's no logical sense to think they can beat Marvel when Marvel's putting out more than one movie. With Daredevil they're not continuing the Netflix show. They're just saying it's connected to make fans happy. They've already confirmed this takes place at least 5 years after season 3 basically giving themselves an out to that while saying it's connected they don't have to address anything that took place in season 3. News stories in new ideas is what they'll be focusing on.
Wait, didnt The Avengers came in 2012 with 620 Million in US and Canada and 1.5 Billion worldwide? comparing that to TDKR, which grossed 440Million sth Domestic and 1.1Billion worldwide Oh yeah, *compete...* not win Got It.

It saddens me to see all the mcu fans are getting tricked into watching more marvel content by hyping up for RDJ instead of getting hyped for quality and original content. I feel like right now it is the DC that’s trying to make good content with honesty and Marvel just trying to be more popular using old popular actors, characters. They dont offer anything new. Only if you read both marvel and DC comics for long you would have realized both comics made multiple political stories and making till now so much and marvel succeeded in that because of captain America and iron man success and even x men 97's success with political stories

Wicked analysis. I hope DC does well.
at this point...It's not about DC beating Marvel or what...it's about to get DC back on right track...DC already left behind few times...I don't think DC able to catch up to Marvel games at the moment...all DC need to do now is to build the new universe slowly & consistently, no need to rush just like what they did before with DCEU...

I'm going to be excited for that because if DC starts taking Ws, Marvel will be motivated to do better.
I have a feeling they will not be better tho regardless if Supes succeed or not. Because of Disney.
@DeathFORcameO Yeah,that's my second guess
Can you do the next video of who are the actors and actress who should play in the next Justice League.
@@kurooaisu nostalgia has certainly played into a better critical and commercial succes for mcu projects better than DC. Spider Man No Way Home, Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness, and Deadpool and Wolverine, being the Top 3 performing mcu movies since Endgame.

It’s about damn time, DC was shxttin the bed more consistently than the very few times they’d do something mediocre to decent.

Fantastic Four will also be fantastic
Real fans hope for both studios to succeed

Either way I’m just glad Gunn is making quality over quantity a priority - Marvel has a busy year this and next while DC is playing it safe and not overexposed

It was the 4th highest viewed trailer in 24 hours of all time.
If it doesn't make a billion that's okay, it's the first DC Studios movie, it's to set up the new direction
They dont need to beat marvel just make good stuff, we can watch both
I don't even think you believe Guardians of the Galaxy is the best MCU trilogy.

It saddens me to see all the mcu fans are getting tricked into watching more marvel content by hyping up for RDJ instead of getting hyped for quality and original content. I feel like right now it is the DC that’s trying to make good content with honesty and Marvel just trying to be more popular using old popular actors, characters. They dont offer anything new.
